Andrew Sullivan may be wrong on this case but he is a good true conservative in many other cases. He recognized George Bush’s phony conservatism much before everyone else and also he is avid an supported to true conservative Ron Paul.
His posts are also very thought provoking and not just sensationalizing petty items or stating the obvious.
Ah, PDS will be with us as long as Sarah is in the public eye with sights on ‘12 or ‘16 and contiue to grow stronger as we near election time.

And it should be noted what a fundamentally dishonest person Sarah Palin is. The Bridge to Nowhere, claiming that she only made Bristol’s pregnancy public because of blog rumors, claiming that she really did know more Supreme Court cases than Roe but was too startled to tell Katie Couric, claiming she really reads anything but was too startled to say.
Whether her lies go beyond standard politician dishonesty is debatable, but in my mind if you lie about one thing so brazenly, you don’t get the benefit of the doubt. She needs to prove the rumors false because her word has no value.
Fine, Red State – from now on, and female politician who is pregnant has to undergo a PUBLIC ultrasound and prenatal exam, just to make you happy.
Anyone in the public can examine the female politician, to avoid stuff like this in the future.

What a tool. In the two pics posted, in the older pic she is clearly leaning backwards thereby emphasizing her belly and in the more recent leaning forward de-emphasizing her belly. When I stand up straight you can see the outline of my lower ribcage under a t-shirt, but if I arch my back and push my belly out I darn near look pregnant. Posture has a lot to do with how our bodies look.

Andrew Sullivan seems to have a point Sarah Palin does not look 8 months pregnant in the photo he posts. Palin could end it by releasing her medical records, as she promised to do during the campaign. Obama did release his birth certificate. Sarah Palin did not release her medical records.
Tomrrow I’m going to see a very pregnant friend at a wedding. She’s thin, so I’ll be doing a little experiement with her and I’ll post my results…

And why should they, lgm? MEDICAL RECORDS should be private. Birth Certificates make sure candidates are Constitutionally eligible for office. There is no constitutional requirement on health and parentage.

Sure it is. Obama’s refusal to release his grades makes me assume he wasn’t a top student. Just as Palin’s refusal to release her medical records makes me assume she has something to hide. I don’t think it’s a pregnancy scandal, but I don’t know what it could be.

Actually, all major candidates release their medical records. It’s not required, but it is unheard of not to. The facts that a) it would be so easy to do so, b) she released a short statement that she typically lied about and claimed constituted releasing her medical records, and c) she has lied about so many other things, strongly suggest she is hiding something that would get in the way of her career. Really, to deny this is to be so blind a water carrier you can’t even see anything around you.
Call me crazy (ok, Dan, you’re crazy!), but Governor Palin is athletic, has been since high school, continues to hunt and fish, so it’s safe to assume she knows how to take care of herself. Heck, I’m no expert (and nobody else seems to be as well), but because the governor knows how to stay in shape, and, quite possibly, eat sensibly, and yes, exercise sensibly while pregnant (given she’s had five children), it’s not really a stretch to believe she may not look as “pregnant” as somebody else would expect. I’m not saying she did any of this, of course, during the course of any of her pregnancies, just that it’s possible.
The more people pile on her, the more I like her. It’s just too bad she’s still being trashed long after the election is over. Is this what we can expect from the left for the next four years? (yeah, right, don’t everybody answer that question at once as the sound will be deafening.)

Likewise, a very athletic woman I lived with in the dorms (she was the staff member in charge of student life) was SIX months pregnant, running on a treadmill and I couldn’t tell.

Hell, there are specials on women who wake up one day ill and go to the hospital to discover they’re in LABOR.

Sullivan makes his point, and there is some merit. He also makes sure to point out that these are only questions, which have not been answered and in some cases have been actively distorted. The same exact thing can be said about Obama’s certificate of live birth. Malkin is right in comparing the two, but she’s wrong in her derision of the questioners.
If we’ve learned anything at all from politics in the modern era, it’s that politicians are lairs. It doesn’t matter what political persuasion, politicians will habitually lie and cover up anything that could possibly be considered outside the bounds of political correctness. Our only defense? Ask questions. Question everything about them – their history, marital life, children, political achievements. If they waffle or engage in doublespeak or cover up, then double the efforts.
One of America’s biggest problems is it’s idolization of our political leaders. This leads to a culture of corruption, and the assumption that people will believe whatever the political idol says. Our only way of fighting back is by questioning those areas which seem the most sensitive. This is exactly the reason that Trig and Birth Certificate “Trutherism” have gained traction. At anytime, the Palin or Obama camps could shut these issues down by simply releasing the information. Instead, the official camps ignore and deride the questioners, and the pundits provide the attacks.
According to my wife, her mother (God rest her soul), who was apparently very overweight, had a severe stomach ache. She went upstairs to rest and, next thing she knew, my future wife came into the world.
Another thing. It’s pretty well know Betty Grable was pregnant during her VERY famous WW2 pin-up.

I’m still trying to figure out why this is an issue. With McCain or Reagan, I understand that the age issue prompts some concern about health issues and the Oval Office. But a previous pregnancy is a short term issue and not likely to impact the long term health of a prospective office holder.
Can one of you trolls explain to me what difference it makes? And don’t try the “if she lied about this she lies about everything” argument unless you can give me some full disclosure on the B.O./Ayers relationship.

I think you proved my point by listing Hillary, algore and GW Bush. These people’s negatives are higher than their positives. GW Bush is leaving office with a 30% approval rating. You need to look up the meaning of the word “idolized.”
I grant you the MSM has idolized Bill and Barack but Bill never won 50% of the votes cast in either of his two elections. Barack finally managed to do so but only 52% of the votes went his way. Again, you really need to look up the meaning of the word “idolized.” I do not think that word means what you think it does.

I always thought it meant to regard with blind adoration or devotion. We might be talking about different things here, but the fact is politicians are marketed this way. Let’s take the example of celebrities, would you say that in our culture celebrities are idolized? Do you think there is any comparison to be made between how our politicians are viewed and how celebrities are viewed? I think so, you might not. Percentages don’t really matter here – I hate Britney Spears, but millions of young women love Britney Spears. They, of course, are the most vocal. You will react differently to the media and social narrative, but it is still there.
This is summed up pretty perfect by the fact that we on the right have mocked Obama with the title of “Messiah”.

“So be it” is a strong statement of purpose. I would figure that was the argument for the “promise”. Although I think we’ve only caught Palin in the act of being a politician – making sure statements are noncommittal enough to slip out of in the case they come back to bite.
This ties in nicely to the topic of political idolization though. Even though her statement justifies the fact that she knows that she needs to release her records, the only relevant part to people that idolize her is the slippery verbiage at the end.
When I noticed Opbrat whining I couldn’t help but laugh…talk about one arrogant, empty headed celeb. What exactly has she done to become who she supposedly is. I love it, a slap in the face to the arrogant, elitist, nothing by a woman of character, conviction, morals and principles.
