Over the years, I've shaken hands and "pecked" the cheek with people I don't like...in the interest of peace at the moment. As one gets older, one learns that peace is preferable to conflict. My ex-wife and I are good friends today, because of the peace we wanted. Her ex-husband (after me) who hated my guts, is friendly with me now. I prefer peace. Priorities change and what was important in the past, isn't important today. We stop being emotion-driven as much as we were in our younger days. The aches/pains come and I just had surgery last month. We learn that we are mortal and time isn't infinite anymore. Perhaps Babs and Bush are the same way, though I think politics of the moment dictated the action. As Bush, I would be friendly with her, though I wouldn't trust her "out of sight". Heck, I would give Pelosi a "peck on the cheek" if the politics of the moment demanded it, though I would prefer a double single malt Scotch straight up first.
