Financial blog flirts with Trig Trutherism

By Michelle Malkin  •  December 9, 2008 09:53 PM

I like to keep up with financial blogs and have linked to several favorites over the past year. Last week, I linked to a good analysis of Hank Paulson’s latest crap-flinging by Henry Blodget at Clusterstock. That site, along with Silicon Alley Insider, offers top-notch financial analysis and business news.

It is not a place I expect to find unhinged Trig Trutherism. But yesterday, Blodget indulged himself and linked approvingly to The Atlantic’s chief womb investigator, Andrew Sullivan — and even reposted the same tinfoil photos I wrote about in my truther column last week.

The slide into conspiracy-mongering is all the more embarrassing for the financial blog heavyweight because Blodget appears to have missed the debunking of Sullivan by Sullivan’s own staffer.

Ridiculous.

Troofers. They’re everywhere.

This is a mystery that should have been solved months ago, either by the release of irrefutable proof that Sarah Palin is Trig’s mother OR proof that she isn’t. It is also a mystery that could represent either a massive fraud or an organized political hit-job.

Massive fraud? Is this nut serious? Even if she didn’t give birth to Trig, who was harmed? If she only had 4 children instead of 5, would that make her ineligible to run for office? Would it mean that she’s not a legal citizen? No, it would mean she lied to protect her family, which is something Democrats have long claimed was OK for a politician like Bill Clinton to do. What other motive could she possibly have?

But look closely at the photo. She is leaning forward to reach her arm around the shoulders of a shorter child. This action moves her chest forward, making her stomach look smaller. This is not rocket science. The bulge is still there, just not as pronounced as it would be if she were standing up straight.

Surely these nuts could come up with more than a photo to prove their point. Of all the people who saw the Governor during her pregnancy, have they found even one reliable witness willing to vouch for their claim?

Can any of these idiots please explain what the worst case scenario could possibly be here. She lost! Why would anyone outside of Alaska still care who gave birth to Trig?

Stupid people hurt my brain. Stupid people elected The ONE and soon, stupid people will hurt my bank account as well. I may have to take up drinking again. I have had hangovers that made me feel better. UGH

I am guessing that this baby goes against the grain of everything a liberal believes.

    /Stupid liberal conspiracy mode on

A Down Syndrome baby should be killed therefore, Palin could not have given birth to him. Yep, that must be it. Since this baby has to be destroyed to be a politician, she must be covering for someone to look like a hero for the N.O.W. That plan worked so well. AHHHH, I think I am on to something. Booooosh popped up Palin’s daughter and Karl Rove is behind the plan to cover it up. BWAHHHHAAAHAHAHAHA That evil Rove.

It should be painful to be stupid.

Oh, please. This is completely nuts. Facts aren’t important here. Just publicity.

And off-topic, ever since my adopted daughter with Down Syndrome met, chatted with, and hugged Governor Palin, she has been bragging. Ask her: “Who loves Rebekah?”

Her answer: “Mommy, Daddy, Hannah (our youngest child), and Sarah Palin,” followed by a cat-that-ate-the-canary grin!

Children are such a joy, especially those who have the spirit of your daughter. I’m glad Palin is one person who recognizes that.
