By the way, "Day without a Gay" was a big disappointment:

SAN FRANCISCO — A daylong work stoppage during which employees were encouraged to "call in gay" to express support for same-sex marriage drew spotty participation nationwide Wednesday, with some gay rights activists praising the concept but questioning its effect.

In San Francisco's gay Castro district, residents and merchants said they endorsed the message behind "Day Without a Gay" but didn't think a work stoppage was practical given the poor economy and the strike's organization.

Source: Fox News

Ya think it might have been a bad idea to put politics before practicality in this economy? Never mind that "Day without a Latino" - which had greater notification and organization (I use that term loosely) was also a flop.

Just like "Don't Buy Gas on Tuesday!" campaigns. It's impossible to get a massive amount of people to something on such a large scale when, as individuals, the demands of such protests have potential consequences - like losing your job.

I’m hopeful the “Day without a Gay” is a smashing success.

Perhaps then they can build into a “Week Without a Gay,” “Month Without a Gay,” “Year Without a Gay,” etc, etc.

It would just be FABULOUS, dahling!

"Lifetime without a Gay"? I don't suppose anyone could arrange that one for me?

From the article …“I think we are demanding as a community that we democratize our processes and ensure we all have a voice,”

Correct me if I'm wrong, but doesn't an election give us all a voice? Isn't that the definition of Democracy? Hold an election and accept the results?

Or maybe we should take the same approach to the Presidential election. Social upheaval until McCain is sworn in as President.

Or at least we could have a Call in Conservative day? Although I would prefer to wait until the weather gets better. I suggest Flag Day June 14. Should be a nice day to go fishing.

Contrary to what some might want you to believe, a Day Without a Gay didn't have a lot of support in the Gay community as a whole. Most looked at it as silly and unproductive.

Dear Homosexual Community,

Calling in gay is not required because I'm here, not queer, online 24-7-365, ready, willing, and able to serve. Besides, because of me, everybody knows who you are.

Sincerely,
gaydar
