Reuters doesn’t like conservative snarking over Blago’s bust

By Michelle Malkin  •  December 10, 2008 02:20 PM

Looks like the Obama water-carriers in the MSM aren’t happy with the fallout over Blagobama-rama. Here’s the headline on an article just released by Reuters this afternoon:

The piece mentions Blago reaction from the RNC, Washington Times, Rush Limbaugh, Neal Boortz, and yours truly.

Maybe I missed it, but I don’t seem to remember the finger-wagging Reuters articles headlined “US liberals gleeful over [Abramoff/DeLay/Stevens/Foley/etc.].”

Do you?

QUINCY, IL — Now that Barack Obama will be moving to the White House, his seat in the U.S. Senate representing Illinois will have to be filled.

Obama met with Governor Rod Blagojevich earlier this week to discuss it. Illinois law states that the governor chooses that replacement. There’s already been speculation about his selection…from Congressman Jesse Jackson, Junior to Illinois Department of Veterans’ Affairs Director Tammy Duckworth.

Plus, based on the people I know in Illinois, many from both sides are glad he is finally in trouble for his actions. There is a reason he has the lowest approval rating of any governor in the nation!

    It’s all very simple.

The politicians sell votes and seats, deal in graft, get drunk and kill young women…just name your brand of corruption. But they keep getting elected!

This is known as positive re-enforcement. If your dog poops in the house and you don’t discipline him, he figures, “Hey, this is where I’m supposed to poop.”

So, the corrupt-o-crats sh!t all over us because they keep breaking the laws and the discipline is almost non-existant. To be sure, there are those that get caught and punished. Which leads to my next point of…

There is also a “Well, that could never happen to me!” attitude that pervades every level of public service.

Detroit, I get. The smart people got out of Detroit long ago, leaving behind the idiots and the shiftless, and they continually elect Democrats because they are stupid and shiftless. But… come one… the rest of America can’t be as stupid and morally bankrupt as Detroit…

Socky, it’s the victimization of America. The corrupt-o-crats tell the voters that the Republicans don’t grant giveaways, so the voters are victims. When the corrupt-o-crats get caught, they claim to be victims. So there is a symbiotic relationship between the corrupt politician “victims” and the voter “victims.”

No one bothers to look at the candidates. They take the word of the media that there is nothing to see. It’s like the U.S. socialists proclaiming that socialism will work here because it’s the bad people that give socialism a bad name. Basically, “A century of failure proves nothing.”

    From the CNN transcript:

AARON BROWN, CNN ANCHOR: Good evening again, everyone.
The gods of humility have a way of paying a visit to all of us eventually, when we are too sure of ourselves or too full of ourselves the gods of humility come knocking at the door.

As one who has been paid such a visit I could tell you it is rarely welcome and rarely unneeded. The humility gods came knocking on Rush Limbaugh’s door today. Surely it was humbling for Mr. Limbaugh to tell his audience that he is a drug addict, no different really than the drug addicts he has condemned along the way.

And while from time to time he has taken a shot at us and this program and this network we take no shots at him, no gloating or joy.

    (snip)

BROWN: [...]we begin with the moment that pains as many as it pleases such as the lot of Rush Limbaugh. Such too are the rough and tumble times that many believe he and his opponents have helped to create.

A poison well to some, a whirlwind to be sure, and into it today came an extraordinary admission of weakness for a person who on the air at least tolerates none of it.

    (snip)

BROWN: OK, here’s the truth of it. Rush Limbaugh has been more than a bit unkind to me more than once. He’s also been unkind to Al Franken, who in turn has been unkind to him. He’s taken shots at Michael Wolff, “New York” magazine’s media critic and Michael is hardly the retiring sort.

So, here we all are, Al, Michael and me and the subject is Rush made worse no doubt by the permanent smirk that seems to be attached to my face.

To be fair, the CNN transcript doesn’t include “(rubs hands with glee)” so technically it isn’t the same.

I’m not necessarily gleeful about Governor Blagojevitch’s arrest, although, in my humble opinion, it’s long past due. I would be gleeful if the investigation led to the arrest of Richard Daley, “hizzoner da mayr” of Chicago, the aldermen of Chicago, and Daley’s puppets in the “Crook” County government. Perhaps if that happened, the men and women who serve as officers in the Chicago Police Department could get a contract, more officers, better equipment, and badly needed support from the city that craps all over them.

ECS – I wish that would happen, but I wouldn’t count on it. Given Fitzgeralld’s history, he’s going to try to blame it on some high-profile Republican, and claim that said Republican forced Blago to commit the crimes. Then because said Republican can’t remember word-for-word every conversation he’s had over the last 8 years with anyone and everyone, the Republican will go to jail and Blago will be exonorated.

    sigh…
