Dingy Harry Reid defends stink bomb
Silly you! Don’t you know that when Harry Reid complained about how D.C. tourists reek, what he was really saying was how awesomely awesome they are:
Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid defended himself Wednesday over a joking comment that tourists to the Capitol sometimes smell.
Turns out many people weren’t amused.
The Nevada Democrat has been attacked on blogs, editorial pages and letters to the editor since his remark last week: “In the summertime, because of the high humidity and how hot it gets here, you could literally smell the tourists coming into the Capitol.”
His comment came during the opening ceremony for the new Capitol Visitor Center.
In response, an offended letter-writer to Reid’s hometown Las Vegas Review-Journal declared: “You, Sen. Reid, are the one who stinks.”
Without directly apologizing, Reid sought to explain himself in his own letter to the Review-Journal on Wednesday.
“Much has been made of my comments at the opening of the Capitol Visitors Center,” Reid wrote. “Anyone who took the time to watch my statement or read it in full knows the point I was making: I’m always pleased when the Capitol is filled with citizens eager to learn about our country’s great history and the work we do in that historic building.”

I’ve really come to believe that if, on 9/11, in exchange for the three planes that did hit their targets not hitting their targets, Flight 93 had hit its target; then (relatively speaking), the whole nation would’ve been better off in the long run.
Not only would several thousand fewer lives have been lost; but also, those murdered would have been out of commission (government), and those spared would have been around to better serve the nation (commerce and defense).
Gruesome scenario? Sure. Objectively true? Immutably affirmative.

When liberals complain about Bush, they talk about torture and incompetence. When conservatives complain about Reid, it’s to deliberately misunderstand a comment about how hard it is to work in a hot humid environment.
Sure he was, but instead of talking about his concern that citizens must stand for long periods in the heat with no respite, Harry was only concerned about himself and the stench of the “tourists.”

No. When we talk about Reid, or as you put it, “complain about Reid“, it’s to talk about open borders, spending my grandchildren’s money, blocking funding of troops in the field and their supplies for no reason other than to work to make the President look bad, telling those same troops and the rest of the world that we (the USA) have already lost in Iraq which has been proven time and again to be 100% incorrect, trying to sneak yet more legislation into unrelated bills to stop any shale exploration keeping the US dependent on foreign oil just that much longer, lying about just exactly where in ANWR the drilling should be, trying to jam yet another stimulous bill down our throats, cheating on vote procedures in the Senate strictly to facilitate an outcome he has decreed, being the leader of a Senate that has nearly set a record for the longest running single digit approval rating and just generally being a wind bag in an empty suit and a traitor to his country.

I find myself in a festive mood tonight. A great way to get rid of the stink in Washington DC might be to decorate some of the trees in the Capital Mall with our more arrogant public officials that see themselves above us mere plebian dogs that pay their salaries with our forced tribute. I think Senator Reid would be a great start with a long list of fellow Democrat and RINO Congress critters that come to mind.

The problem is specifically what he said and the notation it carried. It sounded just like an elite-type ding dong complaigning about smelling the dirty masses. Haven’t you ever toured Washington? Did you think you stunk? It really sounds like that is what he is saying.
As for Booooosh, how many incorrect conclusions were voiced based on the fact that he isn’t as polished a public speaker as his past opponents? You know darned good and well he really isn’t stooped, but the left certainly talked like he was due to his persona.

If that was all he was doing, why didn’t he just say how sorry he was for the summer tourists having to suffer in the heat? Why did he focus on HIS suffering by having to endure the stench of the great unwashed? Besides, Reid’s on vacation most of the summer anyway. (And how could he tell the stench came from the tourists and not from Murtha visiting the Senator next door?)
Does anyone remember the summer before last when several
Democratic senatorshypocrites paused for the microphones on their way out the door at the start of their summer vacation? They stayed just long enough to criticize the Iraqi parliament for going on vacation while American troops were risking their lives in Iraq. It never dawned on them that THEY were going on vacation while American troups were risking their lives in Iraq.Maybe the heating/AC industry needs a bailout.
