I have no problem with fair criticism; however, this story is ridiculous. I hear a lot of complaining about “gotcha” journalism; this story could be run in a tabloid.

If that was all he was doing, why didn’t he just say how sorry he was for the summer tourists having to suffer in the heat? Why did he focus on HIS suffering by having to endure the stench of the great unwashed? Besides, Reid’s on vacation most of the summer anyway. (And how could he tell the stench came from the tourists and not from Murtha visiting the Senator next door?)

Does anyone remember the summer before last when several Democratic senators hypocrites paused for the microphones on their way out the door at the start of their summer vacation? They stayed just long enough to criticize the Iraqi parliament for going on vacation while American troops were risking their lives in Iraq. It never dawned on them that THEY were going on vacation while American troups were risking their lives in Iraq.
