Rahm-bo hides behind his kids: Don’t ask me questions. I’m a daddy!
The new Chicago way: Evade questions by playing the parent card.
That’s some fancy footwork, Rahm-bo:
Emanuel was uncharacteristically absent from Obama’s news conference this morning. He was spotted two hours later in the lobby of Chicago’s City Hall. He was there to listen to his two children performing in a concert with their school, Anshe Emet.
A Sun-Times reporter pressed him to comment about whether he was the emissary named in the criminal complaint.
“You’re wasting your time,” Emanuel said. “I’m not going to say a word to you. I’m going to do this with my children. Dont do that. I’m a father. I have two kids. I’m not going to do it.”
Asked, “Can’t you do both?” Emanuel replied, “I’m not as capable as you. I’m going to be a father. I’m allowed to be a father,” and he pushed the reporter’s digital recorder away.
Emanuel’s dance training is coming in handy.

Come on… he was trying to watch his children. Every needs some family time; would you like to be harassed during your family time, especially if you got as little of it as Emanuel does? Of course not.

Any reporter or photographer has the right in a public space to ask the question or take the picture. There was probably a more diplomatic way to say, “not now”.

If I were Paris Hilton or Barack Obama or anyone in a position of power near one of those people I would expect to be harassed all day. You do realize people make a living doing so? They even have their own stupid shows now like TMZ where they glorify their “work” of taking photos and asking questions and getting in people’s comfort zones. Probably explains why so many of them end up on the business end of a body guard’s stiff-arm… then we get the fun trivial lawsuits by the photog for said stiff-arm
I can understand he did not want to be bothered while watching his children perform, what parent would want to miss that, but he should have and could have handled it better than he did.

Isn’t this the same liberal mindset that suggested during the campaign that Sarah Palin couldn’t possible be a VP and the mother of a Down’s Syndrome baby at the same time? Don’t you just love the hypocrisy and irony in such a statement.

Personally, I would not have approached him in front of his kids, unless he handcuffed them to himself – then it’s open season. But if he says that he doesn’t expect it, he is being extraordinarily disingenuous. A liberal.

If anyone recalls a press conference of BO’s where he got his panties in a knot when reporters asked him something (i forgot what) but he said “that was like 8 questions, enough!”

Shows how much you know our party did not loose, a RINO lost and it will lead to a return to True Conservatism. You know the True Conservatism that one out in FLorida, Arizona an ultra liberal California.

This is the life Rahm chose – harassment comes with the territory. I feel no sympathy for celebutards for the same reason. And it seems like politicians like to use their families as shields to keep from getting the hard questions. If Rahm wants a private life he should get out of politics. The country would be better off.
Can we all agree that Patrick Fitzgerald jumped early for very political reasons? That Fitzgerald operated under a bag limit? Is there any question that there were more than a few actors like Jackson Jr. that still wanted to play? Did Fitzgerald jump early when someone on the president-elect’s staff (Rahm Emanuel) evinced an interest to stay in the game lf bargaining with Blago?
We do know the character of Patrick Fitzgerald after all.
Agree with Tre. Rahm needs to stand tall and answer the questions about this mess with Blago.
However, when he his trying to be a dad to his kids, we all need to show him the respect due him as a father.
He can’t hide forever. He’s hip deep in this. He’s had contacts with the governor. What topics were discussed?
Obama and Blago met on Nov. 5 and 12. What would the Governor of Illiniois and the outgoing junior Senator from Illinois discuss? Hmmmm?
One possible explanation is to be able to put Obama and his staffers in front of a Grand Jury BEFORE he’s sworn in as President.

Rahm Emmanuel chose to put himself in a position of power. When he made that choice, he forfeited the privilege of avoiding questions pertinent to the public interest by hiding behind his family.

Based only on the blog post? I have to side with Rahm on this one. Even if his purpose was to be evasive, the reason he gave was still valid.
Of course when he doesn’t have a valid excuse (probably better word than reason), the press and everyone else should hold his feet to the fire until he answers every question.
Rahm is toast on this one. He knows it. Obambi knows it. We have not heard all the evidence, yet.

I kind of agree with him. If I was a celebrity, if I am out with my family, then I would not want to talk to reporters or fans. Doesn’t mean I like the guy. Just sometimes reporters go to far in trying to get interviews from people.
That’s too bad. You know, there was someone who could both be a Public Servant as well as a parent to several children as well as a wife. But that person was mocked and laughed at. She wasn’t allowed to do both. The MSM showed everyone that they wanted a person who could only do one thing at a time, and now they have one.
Apparently, when it comes to world affairs, things will need to be put on hold in the Obama Administration should something arise such as a school recital or something similar.
