“Will Saxby Chambliss backstab us now?”

By Michelle Malkin  •  December 11, 2008 12:33 PM

Reader Ron wants to know: “Will Saxby stab us conservatives in the back now that he’s been re-elected? He should be leading the charge against this bailout of the UAW that tried to defeat him. He’s been AWOL on it.”

Call him and ask him. And let me know what his office tells you:

202-224-3521.

Republicans like Mr. Chambliss allowed Congressional Democrats free reign to rape the US Treasury out of trillions of dollars in this latest “progressive” exercise in thievery. Does anyone really think these guys are going to step up and do the right thing now?? It will be business as usual, at least until the wheels finish coming off the economic wagon.

I called yesterday and asked about the automakers bailout and got the same answer regarding him voting against it. When I asked his aide if he was aware of some Republicans planning ot filibuster the aide was not.
When I asked if Saxby would be willing to join them I once again got the Saxby plans to vote against it answer.
Saxby is not a leader and is not somebody any conservative should look to taking the lead on anything.
Yes he is my senator and no I didn’t vote for him in the runoff.

Here is what I just sent Saxby:

    Sir:

I urge you to vote NO to the auto bailout which really should be re-named the UAW bailout. These bailouts have been unconstitutional, and frankly will do NOTHING for workers. I also contributed to your reelection just a few days ago, and I have not forgoten your words after you won reelection.

    Sincerely,

    I hope he’s listening..

Forget about all the politicians. We need to organize a boycott against any company that takes any of the bailout money.
    1. Call or email you Congressmen and Senators. Tell them that you will not but a GM, Ford or Chrysler product if they take any of the bailout money.
    2. Call all of your local dealerships.
Tell them you will not buy anymore of their vehicles if the manufactures take any of the bailout money.

I congress don’t want to put them in the hands of chapter 11, let’s do it for them.

Nope, the voters in Georgia gave him to you.

When are we going to stop believing that the R party is on our side?

My guess? A few months after the democrats have full control. A real taste of Obamamania should do the trick. So…March, Aprilish?

should be “not buy” instead of “not but” I think that was a Freudian slip. I was about to call the politicians butts, which, of course, is what they are.

If he goes along with McCain on any of these:
    Endless government bailouts

    Cap and trade scam

    Illegal immigration

    Energy dependence

Once again we have elected a Democrat posing as a Republican.

30, I really hope so. But, I remember that in 2006 John McCain said he learned his lesson.

We found out later he didn’t learn a single, solitary thing.

The first thing that comes to mind is “You Bet ya”. I don’t have any faith in the man. I did support him because of BO and we needed to stop the Dems from obtaining 60 seats, but I hated myself for doing it. He supported Bush’s big amnesty push, the gang of 10 fools that under minded the Rep push for offshore drilling and the sell out/bail out. Johnny I is just as bad.

Good…But this also means we must make it effort to verify which candidates really are conservative and which are not so that we don’t get stuck with such wonderful compromises in the future…if a Republican operative advises you to vote for a RINO, he/she needs to be advised to f#$%k off in the future.
