The loudest Rush-bashers
Here is something I’ve found to be invariably true of the loudest Rush Limbaugh-bashers in Washington and Manhattan:
They don’t actually listen to him and have no idea what he talks about day to day.
They criticize a figment of Rush in their heads, which is echoed and amplified by liberal media elites who share the same figment of Rush in their heads.
And they tell two friends, who tell two more friends. Who turn it into another endless series of liberal Republicans-complain-to-liberal journalists-about-Rush stories.
And so and so on and so on.
Each with nothing better to do, Obama booster Colin Powell and Newsweek’s Fareed Zakaria take their turn lamenting a show they know nothing about:
Yawn:
“Can we continue to listen to Rush Limbaugh?” Powell asked. “Is this really the kind of party that we want to be when these kinds of spokespersons seem to appeal to our lesser instincts rather than our better instincts?”
“We” will continue listening. You just continue sitting there with your left-wing friends carping in ignorance.
***
Hand in hand with the Rush-bashing, Powell tosses in some indignant Palin-bashing to boot.

Have these cry babies ever listened to Dave Letterman, Jay Leno, Crud Mathews, Sloberman, Franken et al? Rush is funny and what he ridicules is dear to their heart and highlights their hypocracy. He is my man and Sarah is my woman. A deadly duo for libs! Long live Rush and Sarah—Go SARAH!
Colin Powell, riding on the coattails of Norman Schwarzkopf, thinking he’s Eisenhower.
Ridiculous.
Bigotry against Conservatives is not caused by Conservatives. It’s caused by people like you, perpetuating phony stereotypes and making false comparisons.
Sarah Palin didn’t pit anybody against anybody. She just refused to accept the condescension of elitist idiots who think not living in a city is a sign of being some kind of primitive. And for that she was tarred and feathered by the very bigots whose condescension she rejected.
The unthinking hatred of Rush (the point of Michelle’s post) is just one aspect of the bigotry that all Conservatives (including Sarah Palin) deal with all the time.
Stop buying in to it!
Don’t listen to Rush you say. Who then Powell . . . Al Franken, The Daily KOS, Harry Reid, Keith Olbermann, or perhaps Chris Matthews? Powell has always been a closet liberal and now it’s time for him to get out of the Republican Party and join his left wing friends.

I apologize for the multiple posts . . . damn return key.
I used to think Rush was this racist, sexist, bigoted, homophobe and refused to listen to him because I *knew* that he was just this horrible person.
Then I actually gave him a listen…
After realizing that I had been lied to about Rush, I started wondering what else the Treason Media was lying about. Turns out it was plenty.
15+ years after I learned the truth, it’s amazing that idiots like Powell are still trafficking in these slanders. With the tens of millions of listeners that Rush has, don’t they realize that that saying baseless lies only marks themselves as being the crazy liars who should be disregarded?
RPLATT, let me say it a 4th time:
Powell always has been and always will be a closet Liberal. The time is NOW for him to get out of the Republican Party and go join your Leftwing friends. Leave. Now! Buh-by!
We need to hang a sign on our Clubhouse: No R.H.I.N.O’s ALLOWED!
That would be hard. The rhinos are the ones running the Republican party.
I have to admit that RINO Powell really had me fooled. He played the part so well and I thought he just just a little more ‘moderate’ than others. Fool me once …
Powell and his ilk are dead to me. Resign them to the ash heap of history, where they belong.
Colin Powell during his 1996 address to the Republican National Convention:
What the heck happened? Did he slip and conk his head? Did someone slip some Kool Aid into his merlot? Was Wormtongue whispering into his ear? Was he lying back then?!
I don’t agree with Rush.
Rush agrees with me.
What on earth are you talking about “cheapseat”?
All I said was that Mark Levin was influenced in his broadcasting style by Bob Grant, and that O’Reilly doesn’t tell people to “shut up” nearly as much as the leftist loons would have people believe.
Powell is right. Conservatives should stop listening to radicals like Rush and follow Obama’s lead instead.
Not.
Good for Powell going ahead and unfurling his true colors for all to see. Let’s face it, he rose to fame because of underling General Schwarzkopf.
There is a strong correlation between loathing Palin and loathing America. Not 100% but close. There is also a strong correlation between loving America and loving Palin. There I said it and I won’t back down.
I’ve had my doubts about Swollen Bowel for some time. It’s clear now why he did not want the Republican Party nomination is ’96. The man wants whatever affirmative action goods come his way, to be sure, but to be identified as a Republican President of America was asking far too high a price. I personally believes he enjoys being on the sidelines playig sniper far more than he does taking responsibity for the power thrust upon him in his career, by the Bushes more than anyone.
Somehow we knew it would be the Bushes, didn’t we?
Thomas Sowell washed his hands of Powell for his duplicity in the Plame affair, where the man was silent while his deputy Armitage leaked the name and let Libby take the fall for it. The rest of us should wash our hands of the phony as well.
It’s nice to hear Colin declare that “there’s nothing wrong with being conservative.” Geez louise….isn’t he a Republican? Isn’t the Republican Party supposed to be the party for conservatives?
Incredible.
It is amusing that Powell casts himself as a Republican. I sincerely doubt that he was ever a Republican, or accepted Republican ideology. He is one of a number of political Generals, all of whom had leadership issues in the military, and have exhibited poor decision making skills since then. I include Obama’s Jim Jones, Clarke, Shinseki, and Powell in that group. During the Clinton years no general worthy was promoted, and we have been reaping the rewards of that legacy since.
$%^&%$*^ Colin Powell… wait a minute, this is not the Patty Blagojevich blog, is it?
Wait Michelle..you mean you just now figured that out?
None of the people who complain about Rush or any other Right-Wing radio host ACTUALLY EVER LISTEN TO THEM!!! All any of these little trolls do is take what they have heard other trolls say and parrot it.
But are you ready for the REAL secret? They also do not know what they are talking about on any other matter either.
Believe it or not, they do NOT go to any other source to find out information on any subject that they are interested in other than the Liberal Blog sites such as the DU, Kos, and others, take what is said there as the Gospel truth and parrot it back…usually in a “Telegraph Game” fashion, distorting what they hear and read every time it is told.
They are uninformed, uneducated little parrots which is why when you get into a discussion with them, they simply spout talking points that develops into an excercise in “Circular Logic” ending when they finally run out of talking points, turning to insults and vulgarity until the Conservative can no longer stand that much stupidity, leaves and the troll then declares victory, feeling justified in the process.
All one need do is look at any of LGM’s posts for a graphic depiction of all I have just described. He should be toddling on to his mom’s computer any minute now. Stand by.
Just like a bunch of school girls on the playground
I couldn’t agree more. Rush, and also Hannity, are usually argumentativey cordial when liberal callers politely call and express their argument in a reasonable way. Indeed, any talk show host worth their snuff should see that as an opportunity to change the mind of a thoughtful person.
It’s when someone calls up and starts in on the “war-monger,” “fear-monger,” “hateful,” “keep running your mouth” nonsense that they get really combative. Any liberal should ask themselves would they act any different if some random guy off the street questioned their basic humanity and decency for a political view they had?
Michael Savage is a different story…
Also, Colin Powell is proving himself more of a tool by the day.
Nothing more than a brother thing.
Personally I’ve always thought Rush was a bit to the left of me.
The left’s main problem with Rush is that when liberal callers call in, he lets them rant and rave until they’ve proven themselves to be complete lunatics.
He’s exposing the left for what they are – so of course the left and their Affirmative Action Commandos like Colin Powel must stop him, he’s showing the world what they are. Completely unhinged and out of touch with reality.
And he’s doing it better than Err America ever could because unlike Err America, Rush has listeners.
Come on General…afaid of our harmless little fuzzball? Get a grip!
There’s an old Japanese proverb, I believe…”If you believe everything you read, then you shouldn’t read.” I don’t have much opportunity to listen to Rush, like I used to, in times past, because of work, but I do visit his website occasionally. It has always been that the people complaining the most are people who get 2nd hand reports; not from listening to the show, but reading the bias news.
A day without Rush must be a week-end. Yes he does irritate the Knotted Knickers Party and I love him for it.
Hey, this is normal for the left. They live in a propagandic fantasy. Nothing new here.
First off, do you have any statistics or actual info to back up your assertion that the majority of people live in urban areas?
Second, I love how liberals such as yourself condescend to those of us for calling out those Americans who are lazy, irresponsible, and prefer to be pandered to and bought then actually participate in their own freaking country.
Third, do you actually know anyone who lives in the rural parts of America? Do you understand that for some states like New York, the New York city and downstate area of the state sucks up resources that aren’t even shared equally. Do you get that? Why do urban folk count more than the rest of us? Because they know how to be welfare cheats and bamboozle money out of dopes like yourself until it disappears into the nothingness that is Washington?
I wonder how many liberals like yourself would actually know how to take care of yourself if tested. Could any urban dweller? How about those suburban dwellers (you know the ones that are fleeing the cities that you so prize)?
You know jack about conservativism except the kind where you sell your principles to the highest bidder or get into bed with the next sugar daddy. Is that your version? Let’s pander to the up-and-coming minority populations like they’re children by giving them some freebies (such as welfare, universal healthcare, etc), and then conservativism will be en vogue?
Huggybear, if that is the price you think is worth having a two party system, then I think you’re confusing RINO’s with conservatives. Both parties are the same now except for the conservatives who actually give a damn about things like, morals, ethics, and the taxpayer’s dime. Do you?
When political acceptance become more about healing people’s psychological boo-boos and pandering to the lowest common demoninator, then, yes, I’d rather live in the wilderness then be part of the swamp. You know, like Chicago.
Find a person that dislikes Rush and ask them to expand on a particular item that they don’t like about him. Far more often than not, you will hear a baseless rant or silence. Hatred of the conservative message is directly proportional to ignorance of the conservative message.
The usual answer is “well everybody knows”. Liberal know everybody, ask them.
They don’t actually listen to him and have no idea what he talks about day to day.
That’s ok. It is also apparently that they don’t listen to their new messiah either.
Welcome to the Democrat Party where ignorance is preferred.
P
I would never defend Colin Powell if only because the way he allowed Scooter Libby to take the hit for Armitage. However I will say that IF he was a Republican because he believed in limited government, as we conservatives do, I find it hard to NOT understand why he bailed on the Republican Party. During his stay under President Bush, Bush and a Republican Congress did everything BUT limit government. Seeing the growth in government up close and personal as Gen. Powell would have seen first hand, I find it very consistent that he has slid over to the left’s side regarding government programs and government spending.
Again I am not defending Gen. Powell. What he did by being silent in the face of some serious criminal stuff for Scooter Libby is bordering on criminal. He had information vital to the whole matter and he kept silent. I’m sure there are charges that could be filed regarding such a thing.
No respect at all for him any longer. However I can understand his giving up on “limited government” of conservativism. I understand it completely.
Sorry if I’m repeating someone else I might have missed, but, this stands out so much it can’t be repeated enough. Powell blasts Rush, however, Powell endorsed Obama. Not his parties canidate.
Powell and his Washington friends I believe suffer from the Bloomberg syndrome. This seems to manifest itself when anyone is rubbing a conservative nose in the dirt. They just don’t seem to know what party they really belong to. To me I’m tired of having a dirty and slightly bloody nose with no one in a party I have supported all of my life stand up and fight back. Rush does that , and Michelle. Its gotta be time to end this.
