    May he continue forever. His parodies are funny and yet biting. He pierces the self-important hypocrite’s view of themselves with a humor that I’m sure goes right over their heads.

    Never read him.

    I’ll be sure to check him out once we get this whole gay marriage issue resloved on the other thread.

    I think if I have proven nothing else, it is that I can take a joke at the expense of liberals/democrats/Obama.

    So long as its actually funny.

    I just read his “Why I am a Democrat” essay.

    Pretty good.

    My vote for best Iowahawk has always gone to the Seething Midwest Explodes Over Lombardi Cartoons column. I can’t count the times I’ve read it.

    The genius of Iowahawk is that no matter how many times you re-read his columns, they are still hilariously funny each time.

    Our local lefty rag printed an Iowahawk satire a few months ago. The usual liberal suspects got all exercised and wrote letters to the editor decrying all the hate, mean spritiedness, etc.

    Iowahawk = Genius…. It’s just that simple.

    In ‘The Ratings Always Drop Twice,’ the first paragraph alone is a classic.

    “They say dames are like a flowers. Maybe they’re right. Nice to look at, fun to smell, covered in complicated reproductive do-dads. But brother, get too close and you’ll also find out that they have thorns. And bees. And enough pollen to flood your sinus with a hot painful load of mucus that’ll take a jumbo economy size box of Claritin and a six pack of hankies to forget.”

    And if it weren’t for the ‘Star Tribune Community News,’ I’d of never started reading James Lileks…. He’s a great writer too…. Especially his hammering of wacko-lefty-NPRist-keillor….

    Happy BDay Iowahawk!!
