I finished finals on Saturday, and now I will be madly cleaning the house I have been neglecting in anticipation of my family’s arrival. Commencement is Friday.

If you have kids, do not let them wait until they are parents in their 30’s to go to college. It’s a looooooong row to hoe.

    Happy Anniversary, nlebou!!!! :)

We’ve been getting ugly weather up here. Not really cold, just excessive amounts of rain. That windstorm we had the other day knocked out power for a large portion of the state. Worcester (pronounced Wooster) is still out of commission. Though I hear NH got hit worse.

Race relations – Will never improve until people stop saying things like “400 years of oppression” or “this used to be our land”.

Religious tolerance – As long as there are difference religions, and different sects within a religion, there won’t be any tolerance.

Diversity – The same as forcing a size 10 foot into a size 6 shoe. Won’t work now. Won’t work in the future. Refer to race relations above; it’s the same premise.

He is going to college on weekends to get his degree so he can get a better job. He has a 4.0 so far with 3 years under his belt. I am so proud of him. All this with a full time job and a family. I am in a way. We’re in the process of making a very large, yet very sound investment. We just have to convince the bank this Friday morning @ 10am. Please pray!!!! It’s such a no-brainer that SURELY my bank will agree. It’s a small-town independent bank and they’re extremely stringent when it comes to making loans. They maintain their own loans at that bank. No mortgages are sold. Almost unheard of isn’t it?!

The current situation such as it is, is a great opportunity for many of these small banks and credit unions. Many of my clients seeking loans with big banks are finding a lot of new requirements, reams of paperwork and very unfriendly terms, even for long term customers with impeccable credit.

They are finding many of the smaller banks actually flush with cash and a lot more anxious to lend it out.

This would infuriate the taliban and drive them out of hiding and into the open. Then we can fly over and finish them off with bombs and bullets. It might just work.

That is not a good thing. If those people want democracy, that is not acceptable. But I fear they will never have the democracy that we prize so dearly. The culture is one of violence, and that will probably not change. At least they didn’t take him out and shoot him, like they would have in the past.

I sympathize. But keep in mind that those baby stores push so many unnecessary items at you. When my daughter had her baby we bought several items at yard sales. She saved lots of $$$ that way.

My daughters buy 90% of their kids’ clothes at yard sales and thrift shops. You can find almost new things and the prices are next to nothing! Our grandsons are very well dressed! In addition, the thrift shops have very good toys. I buy all my jigsaw puzzels at Value Village…most are twenty-five cents. In Minneapolis, we have a store called “Once Upon a Child”. They have “gently used” clothes and toys. There is no reason to pay full price for things a child will outgrow in a few months!

    Anyone for a blonde joke?

Two blondes were city employees. One day, they set out to do what they always do: at the side of the road, the first blonde digs a hole. They wait a couple of minutes, and the second blonde then fills the hole up.
A passerby was curious as to what they were doing. So he stopped and asked “Um, what’s the purpose in digging a hole, only to fill it back up a few minutes later?”
To which one blond replied, “We’re actually a 3 person team, but the girl who plants the trees called in sick.”

    - When making a turn, do it from the closest lane into the closest lane.

A friendly suggestion to you~ purchase diapers and wipes from Sam’s Club, and get the Sam’s Club brand. Pretty cheap and just as effective as expensive brands, plus they come in MONDO packages so you rarely have to worry about running to the store at 3 a.m. because you are out.

What’s on my mind? I love being an Army wife, especially on a small post. You always run into people you know, and sometimes (like today) you run into people you haven’t seen since 2 duty stations ago. Such a happy suprise.
