Interesting name for a capital management company. From Wikeipedia:

<blockquote>Cerberus (Greek: Κέρβερος, Kérberos) is the name given to the entity which, in Greek and Roman mythology, is a multi-headed dog which guards the gates of Hades, to prevent those who have crossed the river Styx from ever escaping. </blockquote>

Is this some sort of premonition we are not escaping from the coming of socialism...

Why Would Bush Cave????

This Is Why:

The Cerberus Bailout Connection

Bush gave General Motors Corp. and Chrysler LLC up to $17.4 billion today.

Cerberus bought 80.1 percent of Chrysler from Daimler AG for $7.4 billion in 2007. Cerberus said it doesn’t have the funds necessary to bail out Chrysler.

General Motors sold a 51% stake in its GMAC finance unit to an investor group led by Cerberus Capital Management in November 2006.

On Oct. 19, 2006, John W. Snow — President Bush's second Secretary of the Treasury — was named chairman of Cerberus.

Dan Quayle is chairman of global investments for Cerberus Capital Management.

Why would George W. Bush choose to bail out two companies controlled by Cerberus Capital Management, which is controlled by Bush cronies?

<blockquote>Alaska…can they send their utility bills to Jeeeeeeeesus?

</blockquote>

How about sending them to you?

How about those new businesses with good paychecks and benefits that won't be created because the money is being thrown away on money-losers? The free-market rewards innovation, and flows to where people get the best return. That may mean Honda and Toyota instead of GM, and when GM folds, Honda and Toyota will be hiring. With sensible work rules of course...

It might mean that the Chinese company with the plug-in car reaps the reward becaus Rick Waggoner is too stupid to have produced the Volt on time.

Sadly it will never mean that Congress has learned their lesson about over-regulating industries.

I’m in a better Christmas spirit thinking of those hundreds of thousands of families who now don’t <strike>have to deal with mom or dad losing their jobs or benefits</strike> yet know their Savior came to die for their sins and if they would just repent and put their trust in Him they could be saved <strike>during the holidays</strike>.

Don’t <strike>begrudge someone a job</strike> use a strawman to defend Socialism. Ever. It makes you look <strike>selfish and petty</strike> ignorant and foolish.

But then again, you are.</blockquote>

New Song "Goodbye American Dream, Candle in the Wind 2008".

I would suggest a remake by Sir Elton, but he's part of the problem, so maybe Lee Greenwood or Trace Adkins.

On second thought, that sounds too much like surrender and I'm not ready for that. Remake Battle Hymn of the Republic 2009.

The left wing unions have been sucking the life out of U.S. industry for too long and it's time for them to surrender. Any deals arrived at were between the pandering automobile manufacturers and the unions . . . the people of the United States owe them nothing and should not be forced to pay their compensation, retirement and medical insurance. This country is becoming a repressive, Marxist state and free people will not long endure such tyranny.

<blockquote>"Passions have flared in a US town over a sign in a store asking customers to place bets on an assassination of President-elect Barack Obama. The Town Council in Standish, Maine, condemned the sign in a 6-0 vote and declared it reprehensible at a meeting where some residents defended the store owner, saying he had a right to free speech even if in bad taste, local authorities said.

"The town of Standish condemns in the strongest terms any such alleged activity calling for violence against any individual no matter their position, race or ethnicity," said the resolution posted on the town's website.

The sign in the Oak Hill General Store asked customers to place a $1 bet on the date of Mr Obama's assassination, and said "Let's hope someone wins," the Portland Press Herald reported. It was called the "Osama Obama Shotgun Pool".

The store in the town of 9,285 people in south-west Maine has remained closed since reports of the sign appeared in the media on Sunday (local time). About 80 people attended the meeting, including some who defended the store owner, said town clerk Mary Chapman. "There were folks on both sides of the issue," Ms Chapman said in a telephone interview.</blockquote>

I wonder how many tickets were sold as "stocking stuffers"? You wonder where the Secret Service was, when shoes were being thrown at Bush? In Standish, Maine.
