Of course: Blago is defiant

By Michelle Malkin  •  December 19, 2008 03:36 PM

Well, what else did you expect? The crooked corruptocrat governor of Illinois broke his silence and declared his complete and absolute innocence.

He’s clean as a whistle — and he’s got “personal knowledge” of it.

I think I heard Mrs. Blago chiming in: $%^&@! yeah, he’s innocent.

Illinois Gov. Rod Blagojevich says he is not guilty of any criminal wrongdoing and plans to stay on the job. In his first official statement since his arrest on corruption charges last week, Blagojevich says he will fight until he takes his “last breath.”

Prosecutors have accused Blagojevich of trying to sell President-elect Barack Obama’s vacant U.S. Senate seat to the highest bidder.

The Democratic governor says he intends to “answer every allegation in a court of law.”
He says he’ll be vindicated because he has “personal knowledge that I have not done anything wrong.”

Pukeworthy: Blago’s lawyer playing the kiddie card. “He’s not going to apologize for fighting for sick children.”

Trib finds out that Blago is being wiretapped (as per investigation that has been going on for how long, 0bama?).

Jarrett withdraws her name and is given place in 0bama’s administration.

0bama stops talking about his replacement all of a sudden.

Although this may all prove a big problem for Obama vis a vis keeping Rhambo, it may well be possible that Blago slips through the dragnet. trk45lt I guess I am not very believing in the fact of “what goes around, comes around” when it comes to Chicago politics! We know there is corruption and we know that some are “more” guilty than others, but whether Fitzgerald can make it stick to the right people without losing his job, remains to be seen. I would love to see someone else govern our State, but seems like when we think we might actually get someone in there that is honest, or at least not corrupt, the opposite happens here. That corner you are talking about being painted into, for some reason always seems to have a window “loophole” to climb out for certain people….I sure hope you are right about this and I am wrong.

Barack Obama has said that when all is revealed, it will be clear that neither he nor his staff had any contacts with Illinois Gov. Rod Blagojevich that could be considered improper.

They have had plenty of time to get their version of the facts together by now.

The BO camp will be as clean as the new fallen snow. (Oops, I didn’t mean that to be racist.) That Al Gore has been silent on this season so far.

HERE IS THE QUESTION: If Rahm was talking with Blago about the open senate seat and Blago was looking for some kind of pay off, why didn’t Rahm report it to the authorities? Why didn’t Obama report it? Why didn’t anyone on the Obama team report it? Why did it take a wire tap by the Feds?
