If she were applying to be, say, an undersecretary of education in Barack Obama’s new administration, Caroline Kennedy would have to fill out a 63-item confidential questionnaire disclosing potentially embarrassing text messages and diary entries, the immigration status of her household staff, even copies of every résumé she used in the last 10 years.
If she were running for election to the Senate, Kennedy would have to file a 10-part, publicly available report disclosing her financial assets, credit card debts, mortgages, book deals and the sources of any payments greater than $5,000 in the last three years.
But Kennedy, who has asked Governor David Paterson to appoint her to succeed Senator Hillary Rodham Clinton — and who helped oversee the vetting process for Obama’s possible running mates — is declining to provide a variety of basic data, including companies she has a stake in and whether she has ever been charged with a crime.
Kennedy declined on Monday to reply to those and other questions posed by The New York Times about any potential ethical, legal and financial entanglements. Through a spokesman, she said she would not disclose that kind of information unless and until she becomes a senator.

As a New Yorker I hate the fact that we elected the formerly anointed one, Madame Hillary Rodham Clinton to the senate, and now are going to replace one carpet bagger with another anointed one, Kennedy.
I called the Governor’s office stating we did not want to see a non-New Yorker appointed to the Senate, and was informed that she’s had a residence in NYC for years! That in my mind doesn’t make her a resident of NY.
I hope Patterson appoints someone like Andrew Cuomo (another famous DEM family name), who I dislike and disagree with, but at least he’s a New Yorker and is qualified for the job.

New York’s politics has tended to be dynastic even without Caroline. Gov. Paterson is the son of a political boss.
As I see it, Caroline has three advantages over Hillary. She has lived in New York far longer, she is relatively unsullied by the slime of New York politics (though that will change), and she will let us eat cake.
Come on folks! She’s a Kennedy! Don’t you know anyone who comes from that multi-million dollar clan doesn’t “need” a resume, or to disclose the millions in the bank and elsewhere!

I’m reading John Adams by David McCullough. John Adams and our other founding fathers, Thomas Jefferson, James Madison and Alexander Hamilton just to name a few, must be rolling over in their graves. This is how tyranny begins, by the elites thinking they are entitled to the office. Anytime there is an office of any kind open in Federal, State or Local government by death, election to higher office, etc. etc. there should be a special election, with in six months of said event. This choice is to important to let go for another two years until 2010. A lot of damage can be done by that appointment,IMHO. God have mercy on our beloved Republic and keep it safe.

The Kennedy family espouses the belief made public by their comrade Biden, that the people of the United States need to do their “patriotic” duty, and pay more taxes. Tell me then, why does the Kennedy money get put in tax-free trust accounts, and hidden in tax shelter accounts in banks located “offshore?”

So where is your list of books Governor Palin read? I imagine you are impressed by Governor Palin as I am for Caroline Kennedy–not much. Children books and Christmas Poetry are nice. The Right to Privacy title by a Kennedy is a bit far fetched. Profiles in Courage For Our Time Except at Chappaquiddick and her next book will be PT109 2008 I Took Incoming Just Like Hillary and then England is Still Sleeping-I Think.

The Kennedy family doesn’t actually write much. They just hire talented ghost writers. I shared my family’s disdain for the Kennedy clan, but I had a grudging admiration for JFK’s writing. Then I found out the truth, that it wasn’t actually his writing. Caroline uses the same crutch as her father.
It’s ironic that this arrogant, quasi-patrician family has its place in American history only thanks to the patriarch’s rumrunning gangsterism.

The difference here is the John Quincy Adams was elected to the office of the President of the United States and to Congress by the people of the United States and the people of the State of Massachusetts. The presumed President elect has failed to qualify. Barack Hussein Obama could have been born in the Oval Office and he is still unqualified because of the admitted British citizenship that both he and his father had at the time of his birth.
But the fact that so many members of Congress ignore that disqualification, both by assigning a different meaning to “natural born citizen” and by accepting an unverified KOS Kiddie forgery as a “Birth Certificate”, is an absolute travesty of justice.

Secretary of State under President James Monroe. U.S. Senator before he was elected POTUS. He sure did not live the cloistered, as did The Princess of Camelot.

The socalled constitutional treatise that Ms. Kennedy wrote with Ellen Alterman is basically a picture/coffee table book. It reminds me of the coffee table book that Kramer wrote on a Seinfeld episode. Because of the Kennedy name, she could go television interviews with suckups like Katie Couric and Diane Sawyer. If you want to read a serious treatise on the constitution then read Lawrence Tribe’s books. He may be a liberal dogooder but Lawrence Tribe is a first rate scholar. The Kennedy-Alterman book is the type of thing you might buy for a nerdy kid going into 9th grade in the honor section of a middle school. With each copy you get a free popsicle.
