D’oh: Bush takes back a pardon

A Christmas Eve Emily Litella moment from the White House: Bush Rescinds Pardon to NY Developer.
Hey, while you’re at it, how about taking back that open-borders pardon, too?

Oops.
President Bush’s staff have not served him well. How did this ever get to his desk anyway?
Oops indeed. Now give that pardon to Scooter Libby. He took the hit for nothing and got a lousy reprieve from prison but still has a felony conviction.
If Mr. Bush cannot pardon Ramos and Compean at least call off the war dogs (Justice Department )from attacking Ignacio Ramos’ family, father-in-law and supporters. As one HERO of the Bureau of Prisons told us:
Ignacio Ramos is the ONLY American born person he knows of put in with the Mexican born gang unit–hence the beating. The three guards who went into the unit to retrieve Mr. Ramos did so at great peril and cost–they will never be promoted. Here the Justice Department thought they had that mouthy little spic taken care of and these three guards screwed it up.
Merry Christmas open border types everywhere. What is a dead American compared to cheap green fees for Lindsay the Pansy Graham?
Where in the Constitution does it say there are take backs…or fingers crossed?
This is just too weird.
“Fool me once,….shame on you. Fool me again….uh…you can’t fool me twice.”
Way to go, George. Always got your eye on the ball, I see!
Meh. All it does is bring attention to Bush’s pardons and how non-corrupt they are compared to certain other presidents who shall not be named.
I seem to remember that someone on the prosecution side had promised that Ramos and Compean would NOT be placed in the general population because there were people in there that Ramos and Compean were part of the reason they were in prison.
Somewhere along the way the “paperwork” didn’t get done and thus the beatings.
More current info…..

Excuse me? Can he do that? How ridiculous. So when is a pardon not a pardon? It shouldn’t matter that Bush or his staff was stupid enough as to let this slip by: you don’t get do-overs. If he didn’t do enough research to let this stand, that’s his own dumb fault and he should have to just suck it up.
Maybe the pardon had not been finalized-but watch the lawyers dig into it.
all I can do till Jan. 20th is shack my head in disbelief…then I’ll move to pulling my hair out when Odummy is crowned.
I’m not religious, but it’s looking like I may be again and soon.
It has been so long since we have had actual leadership in Washington, would we know it if we saw it?
I hate to say it, but it will be a relief with this bozo finally gone.
At least Bush isn’t getting anybody’s wife to prostitute herself for the pardon.
I’m not making excuses for old Bill, but he had a couple very good reasons to pardon marc rich….
This was an idiotic idea by someone on W’s staff. Interesting that the Rich pardon got the most publicity for the Clintons but check out a guy named Brasswell who got a Clinton pardon. He was far worse than Rich. Clinton never explained how Braswell got a pardon or what Braswell did to deserve a pardon. Something shady must have happened for Braswell to get a pardon. A google search of Braswell shows what a lousy person this guy was.
Good thing this wasn’t a do over for somebody on Death Row> How exciting would that be?
Better late than never.
Pardon everyone that has ever been convicted of willful failure to file an income tax return. Keep doing that until congress gets it through their head that they need to repeal the 16th amendment and pass the FairTax.
If I was president, those are the only pardons I would grant.
Haven’t you been paying attention? President Bush makes laws that suit President Bush. He is the decider.
Hey Dick… can we recall those nukes headed for Moscow?
Bush = Boob
Hmmm…
Sounds much like the Ramos/Campeon case, wherein the jury had not been told of the drug trafficking background of the jerk who was shot. Or that the illegal alien drug trafficker had been given a pass to come back and forth across the border. Or that the illegal alien drug trafficker had used that pass to move even more drugs across the border during the proceeding that wrongly imprisoned two men doing their jobs.
Yes, sounds familiar indeed.
So, can we take it that Ramos’ and Compean’s parents donated to Democrats, since they haven’t been pardoned yet?
It is the AG’s office that vets these things and makes its recommendations to the President. Honestly…can’t you Bush bashers give it a rest for even a day? It’s Christmas!
This blog is looking like HuffPo more and more each day.
Yea! It is looking like Christmas!
And this even after the CEO said last week, they could not even begin to qualify for it! Will the miracles never end!
The way I see it, Bush could have let the whole thing ride, and just shrug his shoulders. At least he has some scruples, which is more than I can say for many politicians in D.C. today. Yes, Vickisoup, it is Christmas, and so I’ll be like “Nephew Fred” and continue to wish everyone (Scrooges included) a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.
The Constitution to today’s politicians is just some nice words on a old piece of parchment written by a bunch of slave-holding white men. That’s why we’re in the mess we’re in. The Democrats trashed the Constitution and the Republicans did nothing to stop it.
Pardon Marion Jones!
The Klinton’s would have asked for more money…
Boosh needs to stop doing anything but grabbing a magazine and head for the ceramic library.
Fixed it.
That drug @sshole is in jail now. He got less term to serve than Ramos or Campeon.
Is Justice really blind?
How can one take back a pardon? He would have to be reconvicted.
At times Georgie W makes Jimmah Peanut look like a genius, JeeZ!
I keep saying it … eventually people are going to have to listen …
Republicans and Democrats …
Need a new party …
Wake up America.

The outrage is not simply that a well-connected white white-collar criminal(Toussie) won a pardon. It also would be an outrage if Bush failed to do right by Aaron, an unconnected African-American man serving life for a first-time nonviolent offense, and two Latino Border Patrol agents who, if they did break the law, did so in the heat of the chase, not the cool of a boardroom.
