Amen! Thank you, each and every one of you.
Amen! Thank you, each and every one of you.
Merry Christmas and a safe and Happy New Year!
Just know that your service is appreciated by MANY of us.
Thank you all, and be safe!
Merry Christmas and have a Happy New Year.
God Bless you all for your sacrifice, your dedication, your determination and your honor.
I also agree with what is being said, and I echo it: thank you to the armed services for your dedication, sacrifice, and honor.
May you have a merry Christmas and happy new year.
And may the best of this year be the worst of the next.
Also, merry Christmas to our hostess and to all the readers and posters.
I’ll gladly wish our servicemen a Merry Christmas. Your service to our country is greatly appreciated. All the best to you and yours.
Merry CHRISTmas to all the men and women serving our country and especially to my son who was just deployed this month. May God Bless you and watch over you.
Merry Christmas to all the men and women in our armed forces and their families and loved ones! The peace that there is on Earth exists in no small part because of your hard work and sacrifice! We are thinking of you, and wish the Merriest, and safest Christmas to you and yours.
A most humble, “Thank you” What more can I say.
Remember the Reason for the Season.
Jake
To the Christians serving to defend our Republic, Merry Christmas, to the Jewish serving Happy Hanukkah, to those who are not sure, hope you find what you want. To all here the same. I am going to say a Happy Birthday to my Savior Jesus on His Birthday. MM and all, God be with us all.

Thanks ladies and gentlemen and a very Merry Christmas to you all. rock on!
Amen.
Yesterday we saw a young service man at Discount Tires-he was a little short and wanted to know if he could buy a used tire.
He left with four new tires spit between about eight people who were there. He originally was not going to let us buy him tires-proud man I am sure. So one women said if would have to fight her to refuse–”here young man hold my glasses and cane”.
Merry Christmas. But are these service people younger then I was 40 years ago? I do not think I every looked that young. Terrible part is that now even Generals and Admirals look young. Anyone else notice that?
I posted this before but I think this is appropriate here also. Don’t know the author or where it came from but it says everything:
The embers glowed softly, and in their dim light,
I gazed round the room and I cherished the sight.
My wife was asleep, her head on my chest,
My daughter beside me, angelic in rest.
Outside the snow fell, a blanket of white,
Transforming the yard to a winter delight.
The sparkling lights in the tree I believe,
Completed the magic that was Christmas Eve.
My eyelids were heavy, my breathing was deep,
Secure and surrounded by love I would sleep.
In perfect contentment, or so it would seem,
So I slumbered, perhaps I started to dream.
The sound wasn’t loud, and it wasn’t too near,
But I opened my eyes when it tickled my ear.
Perhaps just a cough, I didn’t quite know, Then the
sure sound of footsteps outside in the snow.
My soul gave a tremble, I struggled to hear,
And I crept to the door just to see who was near.
Standing out in the cold and the dark of the night,
A lone figure stood, his face weary and tight.
A soldier, I puzzled, some twenty years old,
Perhaps a Marine, huddled here in the cold.
Alone in the dark, he looked up and smiled,
Standing watch over me, and my wife and my child.
‘What are you doing?’ I asked without fear,
‘Come in this moment, it’s freezing out here!
Put down your pack, brush the snow from your sleeve,
You should be at home on a cold Christmas Eve!’
For barely a moment I saw his eyes shift,
Away from the cold and the snow blown in drifts.
To the window that danced with a warm fire’s light
Then he sighed and he said ‘Its really all right,
I’m out here by choice. I’m here every night.’
‘It’s my duty to stand at the front of the line,That separates you from the darkest of times.
No one had to ask or beg or implore me,
I’m proud to stand here like my fathers before me.
My Gramps died at ‘ Pearl on a day in December,’
Then he sighed, ‘That’s a Christmas ‘Gram always remembers.’
My dad stood his watch in the jungles of ‘ Nam ‘,
And now it is my turn and so, here I am.
I’ve not seen my own son in more than a while,
But my wife sends me pictures, he’s sure got her smile.
Then he bent and he carefully pulled from his bag,
The red, white, and blue… an American flag.
I can live through the cold and the being alone,
Away from my family, my house and my home.
I can stand at my post through the rain and the sleet,
I can sleep in a foxhole with little to eat.
I can carry the weight of killing another,
Or lay down my life with my sister and brother..
Who stand at the front against any and all,
To ensure for all time that this flag will not fall.’
‘So go back inside,’ he said, ‘harbor no fright,
Your family is waiting and I’ll be all right.’
‘But isn’t there something I can do, at the least,
‘Give you money,’ I asked, ‘or prepare you a feast?
It seems all too little for all that you’ve done,
For being away from your wife and your son.’
Then his eye welled a tear that held no regret,
‘Just tell us you love us, and never forget.
To fight for our rights back at home while we’re gone,
To stand your own watch, no matter how long.
For when we come home, either standing or dead,
To know you remember we fought and we bled.
Is payment enough, and with that we will trust,
That we mattered to you as you mattered to us.’
Merry Christmas to the finest fighting force on the planet. Thank you for your service. God Bless you all.
Merry Christmas to all of the men and women who provide the security for this nation so that I may wish them a Merry Christmas.
And, Merry Christmas, Michelle. Thank you so much to you and the staff of Hot Air and this site. Both keep me informed and amused.
God Bless Us All.
Merry Christmas to all!
I find it interesting that Jesus saved his greatest compliment for a Soldier:
I was able to vote (among many other things) because of each of you!
Merry Christmas - AND THANK YOU - to each and every one of you!
You are America’s BEST!
Freedom is not free and must be defended.
Support our armed forces!
Merry Christmas!, Happy Hanuka! and Happy New Years! to all of our dedicated service personnel.
Regardless of where or how they serve, they serve!
In my opinion, nobody does it better!
Please say a prayer for all of those whom have paid a price: Our vets, our wounded, our fallen, and all our hero’s families!
Thanks also to all those organizations who reach out to help our military and their families, they know it is needed and appreciated!
Thank you for your sacrifice to make our Christmas a safe one.
God be with you and see you safely home soon.
Merry Christmas, Happy Chanukah and Festivus Greeting to all of America’s best and bravest. May you have a safe and wonderful holiday with your brothers and sisters in arms and come home soon.
Thank you, By Choice. I cry every time I read that poem.
My father served in WWII and Korea, my oldest brothers served in Vietnam. The thing is, the soldiers serve quietly. They do their duty and do it well.
I remember that my father, even when he had difficulty walking, would always go and vote. He never had an absentee ballot. Seeing as how he fought for that right, he just thought he ought to actually exercise it.
I think this is the proper time of year for a biblical/military reference:
When a strong man armed keepeth his palace, his goods are in peace. Luke, 11:21
Merry Christmas to all the men and women in our military! You truly are doing the jobs that many “americans” won’t do.
Thank you.
Thanks everyone for all your support for all of our troops. This Christmas I have both of my Marines home safe and sound. Last year was a different story as both were deployed to Iraq and the middle east. I can’t tell you how much your support means to the troops and the military families. God bless you all
Guys and gals in our military: Thank you so much for everything you do and watching our backs for us.
We’ll watch yours here and rush to your defense when the limp noodle idiots criticize you. You have more bravery, courage and integrity than they can expect to have in several lifetimes.
Stay safe and have a very Merry Christmas.
I am in Kuwait getting ready to go north. It is not very festive in Kuwait around Christmas, though the Army does try by giving away stockings and gifts to the junior enlisted Soldiers, and putting up trees and displays. The internet company CZ CyberZone offers free internet all day today also.
Do not ever be discouraged in what you all do. There are men and women like me scattered throughout the military who are constantly uplifted by the bastions of patriotism you exhibit.
If Americans are not celebrating Christmas as a time of peace, and the fulfillment of God’s triumph in Christ the Lord, then our fight is in vain, a meaningless gesture of empty charity.
Knowing that you, here, on this site, and others like you, give meaning to our struggle is crucial to the fight. God bless you all this Christmas - and have a drink of homemade egg nog for me!
God bless each and every one of our soldiers and a special prayer, today, to those in harm’s way. Mileslibertatis, our thoughts are with you and that prayer is for you too. TooMuchTime reminded me of Vietnam. Our soldiers were treated very badly by many of our citizens back then. It is great to see that changed nowadays. My oldest daughter is bringing over eggnog today, so we will certainly raise our cups in a toast to you, and all who serve…with a little rum mixed in, if that’s okay.
…and God’s Blessings to you and your families!
To all the men and women in uniform far from home on this joyful day thank you for shielding us from harm. I would like to also send out a special thank you to all the men and women of the 366th Fighter Wing, Mountain Home AFB spread all over the world.
Merry Christmas from a retired United States Air Force Senior Master Sergeant thank you for your service my brothers and sisters in arms!
If you guys and gals in the military don’t already know it, we hold you dearly in our hearts, and especially at Christmas.
Thanks for the poem post, ByChoice, I had never seen that, but it is so poignant.
From my family of veterans to MM, thanks for this post, and Merry Christmas.
Merry Christmas and thanks to all the men and women serving in our armed forces around the world … to all those that have served in the past … and to the families that sacrifice so much while their loved ones are in harms’ way defending this great country and the American way of life …
May all those who have suffered the loss of a loved one fighting for us all I pray that God will grant you peace in your loss and in the knowledge that every American feels your loss and appreciates their sacrifice …
Merry Christmas and God Bless America …
From my family of - somewhere around forty or fifty-odd - God bless you and you have our sincerest thanks to you and your families. Your unending sacrifices are felt at heart here in Texas.
