Merry Christmas and thanks to all the men and women serving in our armed forces around the world ... to all those that have served in the past ... and to the families that sacrifice so much while their loved ones are in harms' way defending this great country and the American way of life ...

May all those who have suffered the loss of a loved one fighting for us all I pray that God will grant you peace in your loss and in the knowledge that every American feels your loss and appreciates their sacrifice ...

Merry Christmas and God Bless America ...

If you guys and gals in the military don't already know it, we hold you dearly in our hearts, and especially at Christmas.

Thanks for the poem post, ByChoice, I had never seen that, but it is so poignant.

From my family of veterans to MM, thanks for this post, and Merry Christmas.

God bless each and every one of our soldiers and a special prayer, today, to those in harm's way. Mileslibertatis, our thoughts are with you and that prayer is for you too. TooMuchTime reminded me of Vietnam. Our soldiers were treated very badly by many of our citizens back then. It is great to see that changed nowadays. My oldest daughter is bringing over eggnog today, so we will certainly raise our cups in a toast to you, and all who serve...with a little rum mixed in, if that's okay.

I am in Kuwait getting ready to go north. It is not very festive in Kuwait around Christmas, though the Army does try by giving away stockings and gifts to the junior enlisted Soldiers, and putting up trees and displays. The internet company CZ CyberZone offers free internet all day today also.

Do not ever be discouraged in what you all do. There are men and women like me scattered throughout the military who are constantly uplifted by the bastions of patriotism you exhibit.

If Americans are not celebrating Christmas as a time of peace, and the fulfillment of God's triumph in Christ the Lord, then our fight is in vain, a meaningless gesture of empty charity.

Knowing that you, here, on this site, and others like you, give meaning to our struggle is crucial to the fight. God bless you all this Christmas - and have a drink of homemade egg nog for me!

Guys and gals in our military: Thank you so much for everything you do and watching our backs for us.

We'll watch yours here and rush to your defense when the limp noodle idiots criticize you. You have more bravery, courage and integrity than they can expect to have in several lifetimes.

Stay safe and have a very Merry Christmas.

Thanks everyone for all your support for all of our troops. This Christmas I have both of my Marines home safe and sound. Last year was a different story as both were deployed to Iraq and the middle east. I can't tell you how much your support means to the troops and the military families. God bless you all

Thank you, By Choice. I cry every time I read that poem.

My father served in WWII and Korea, my oldest brothers served in Vietnam. The thing is, the soldiers serve quietly. They do their duty and do it well.

I remember that my father, even when he had difficulty walking, would always go and vote. He never had an absentee ballot. Seeing as how he fought for that right, he just thought he ought to actually exercise it.

I think this is the proper time of year for a biblical/military reference:

When a strong man armed keepeth his palace, his goods are in peace. Luke, 11:21

Merry Christmas to all the men and women in our military! You truly are doing the jobs that many "americans" won't do.

Thank you.
