It’s funny (sad), but when I bring certain political books to work (such as Michelle Malkin, Laura Ingraham, and Ann Coulter) to read on my breaks/lunches, I do try and keep the spine turned away from prying eyes so as not to “offend” some of the liberal darlings I work with by reading something by an author they don’t approve of.

Affirmative Action officers, judges, arbitrators and such are always a bunch of lying, skimming, politically driven goons. The easiest and least expensive way to get a favorable ruling (EEOC-U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission) is to stuff an envelope with $100 bills and leave it with your paper work on the hearing officers desk. If you do not want to do that you agree to set up and hire an In-House Affirmative Action Officer–the hearing officers will have a recommendation of just who that should be. Entirely too many companies, organizations and such choose those two paths. That is what gutless punks do–go down like rags.

But the better option is to fight like hell-IF you are in the right of course. You do not just fight the charge–you fight everybody involved. When we got hit with our first “discrimination” charge that is exactly what we did. Poor lad thought he was too sensitive to work nights loading trucks. So we agreed and did not have him work nights loading trucks.
He filed a complaint with the EEOC, they agreed with him and we went to war–two different legal teams following two different tracks.
By law you must respond and we did and had a fine legal office do that.
THEN we sicked Uncle Vitos laws dogs. Well before the hearing we knew EVERYTHING about the complainant, the Hearing officer, their families-everything. The Rocky Mountain States EEOC had to call in Hearing Officers as we disqualified one after another.

It is called Litigation by Annihilation-which is exactly what the EEOC does-they just get upset when it is done to them. The complainant? After awhile he went away-we proved he lied on his job application so did not have standing. Did our defense cost too much? Maybe, but we only had to do it once. We have had other charges filed–but the Investigating agencies do a better job of investigating now.

Those $100 bills in envelopes? It is an open secret in law enforcement and businesses and such. They just chalk it up to the cost of doing business. Rather like a whore’s bail bond I suppose.

I hope Keith John Sampson can find such Law Dog as Uncle Vito.

I disagree. He should ask for $1.

There’s a method to my madness. No jury would ever rule against him; he’s only asking for a buck! It’s a very easy statement to the jury. “Ladies and gentlemen of the jury, it’s not the money that’s important, it’s the principle of the matter.” Who’s going to vote against that?

When he win’s, he can use the victory as a hammer to get a complaint in the permanent record of those administrators that originally ruled against him!

The money would be nice, but some things are worth more than money.

This whole episode is an outrage.

Please note that the passage from the Chancellor’s letter did not represent an apology. It was a non-apology apology: “the Chancellor was sorry for any trouble that the November letter caused him”. The Chancellor specifically did not apologize for the Affirmative Action Office’s handling of the complaint, its “investigation” and interview techniques, let alone its “finding” that the student harassed his co-workers. It was a CYA letter to Keith John Sampson issued in an effort to fend off a possible lawsuit. That in and of itself is a disgusting and cowardly act by the Chancellor that deserves rebuke.

Some things are just jaw-droppingly stupid on their face. I’m betting that we’ll be seeing a whole lot more of this as bureaucrats up and down the government hierarchy take it upon themselves to “straighten out” this racist country. So much for the advent of a post-racial era…

    Obvious questions remain:

    1. Why is this Ms. Watkins still on the payroll?

    2. Why does this AA/EEO office yield unreasonable and disproportionate power?

    3. Why didn’t the apology come from the AA/EEO office as opposed to the Pres. of the University?

I was curious as to when someone was going to mention something addressing this.

She can’t READ and holds a position of power???? What the hell? How did she EVEN GET THE POSITION? Just one more reason, I have a major problem with people who have a degree that believe they are so much better than those that don’t.

I’m sorry, I actually mixed up two separate stories. A young man named Neil Godfrey was not allowed to board a plane in October 2001 because he was reading a best-selling novel, called “Hayduke Lives”.

In 2006, Professor Walter Murphy was not able to board a flight because he was on the terrorist watch list. He was on this list because he had given a lecture criticizing the Bush Administration’s infringement of constitutional rights to privacy.

And I don’t consider myself a troll; I just don’t like double standards. I call them out on HuffPo all the time :)

    On December 26th, 2008 at 10:34 pm, teachem2 said:

talkin_bout, the deal with Professor Walter Murphy was totally overblown. He WAS able to get on the flight and the idea that he was on the list because of a lecture that criticized the Bush administration was pure conjecture on the professor’s part. An airport worker, not even TSA employed, was the one that said to the professor, “oh, yeah that’ll do it.” That worker had no knowledge of how they placed people on the list. If he had truly been on the list and not just with a similar or same name, he would not have gotten on the flight and he was given a boarding pass after clearing up the problem within a few minutes.

As for Neil Godfrey, not that I condone anyone judging or being judged by a book they are reading, it was 29 days after 9/11 and he was carrying a book that had what was described as a bomb on the cover. Again, I don’t condone it, but I can understand it. The story I read regarding what happened to him seemed somewhat incomplete and one-sided. I think there was more to the story than just him having the book. That being said, it doesn’t compare to this story. This student was in no way compromising anyone’s security and safety. With Neil Godfrey, it wasn’t just offending someone who was illiterate, they had security concerns. Because of the differences of the two cases, I don’t think it’s a double standard at all.

I see where you are coming from on Godfrey; less than a month after 9/11, it’s understandable.

BLT teaches Black power, to gain power using all tools available and use them at all costs against whites, to get even, to get payback against ‘GD white America’.
These actions were taught to the illiterate woman (and enforced by Ms. Affirmative Action Watkins ) by someone exactly like Rev. GD Wright.
