[...] One of the best things about having a Democrat in the White House in a time of easily-accessed information is pointing out the vast difference in how the press treats the new occupant versus how they treated the old one. Shortly after the election, the press heaped praise upon Obama’s workout regimen, since it gave the president his “chiseled abs and chest.” Of course, during the Bush years, the former president’s workouts were seen as a creepy obsession.
The media is really into that cosmopolitan, metrosexual androgynous look, e. g., pencil-necked one-worlder. My big, broad blue-collar husband could break him across his knee with the proverbial one hand tied behind his back. "W" probably could as well.

Arguing with a raging liberal troll is useless. They have short attention spans, and as a result, no patience for logic and reason. They are lazy, with no desire to learn from history. Instead, they cling to slogans and catchy one-liners (hope-and-change). So, when confronted with a logical argument, the only way they know how to reply is with insults and name-calling. The insults and name-calling gets laughs and cheers from their equally clueless peers, which only encourages more of the same. That’s the way it works.

They’ve been duped into having heroes like Castro, Che, and now Obama, because these “revolutionaries” look cool on a t-shirt. They know nothing of the brutality and oppression the Cuban people have endured at the hands of Castro, or the murderous animal that was Che - nor do they care to learn. Castro was seen early on by the Cuban people as a “messiah” – one who was going to bring everyone equal wealth. Instead, what they got was equal poverty, and a depth of oppression they never thought possible. But modern liberals would never take the time to understand why so many people would risk their lives to flee their home countries in little more than inner tubes.

A people’s “messiah” came to power in Germany in the 1930’s also. He was going to make Germany the most powerful nation in the world for the next thousand years. Similarly, he used slogans, colorful banners, and other things that, at the time were thought to be pretty cool. The people were taken in by it all, and those who saw through it were at first ridiculed and called names. Later they were hunted down.

So now they have their own “messiah”, who looks cool and says cool stuff. He’s going to pay off our debts and make us all equally wealthy. He’s going to make it so the rest of the world “likes” us. He’s got a lot of cool slogans, his own logo with pretty colors, and a huge following that will enable him to carry out his agenda. For the rest of us, the name-calling and ridicule is already happening – the rest will come soon enough.

People always believe that radical change is the answer to all their problems. Yet, it is radical change that has brought about some of the worst times in history.

Many times I want to hate liberals, but I force myself to understand that they are of a mindset that won’t allow them to see logic and truth. They surround themselves with others who think the same way as them, so to them it’s normal. Being a liberal is easy. You just have to grab on to the latest fad (global warming, Che shirts), and repeat what the movie stars are saying – what could be cooler? It’s logic and free-thinking that is difficult, and that’s why liberals are inherently lazy.

GWB was a mediocre president, at best. But constant bashing and name calling doesn’t drive that point home. It just makes those bashing him look petty and stupid. Unfortunately, we’re going to see this, and the cult-like worship of Obama for a while, at least until the people open their eyes to reality. My only hope is that one day those who have blindly made Obama into this “messiah” figure will see and regret what they’ve done.

Personally, I think a regular workout regimen is a sign of overall focus and self-discipline; it's something I aspire to myself. What gets me is that when Dubya did it, he was wasting time that could have been spent on more important things. Obama does it, he's THE MAN.
