Whoa. If those predictions are right, it looks like a tough year. And to top it all off, I’m a Tampa Bay Rays fan and the Yankees picked up the two best free agents. Going to be a loooong 12 months.
I predict Michelle Malkin will win even more prestigous awards on the Andrew Sullivan Blog. Something for which we should all strive. Happy New Year Michelle, God Bless you and yours.
I predict that every time anything bad happens, Bush will be blamed. And any time anything goes right, credit will be given to the Democrat’s monument to affirmative action run amok.
I have to agree with Michelle on this one. God save us from the same type of bipartisianship that bent all us over in 2008 and will do far worse damage in 2009.
I have a bad feeling that once we see Obama-economics in action the Stock Market will take a dive to below the 5,000 point mark, unemployment will climb to a point higher than the Carter years, and we will see a continued assault on our freedoms. This is another one of those times I really want to be proven wrong, but time will tell.

I predict that most predictions will not come to pass.
I also predict that most of what will happen in 2009, no one could have ever predicted.
There’s going to be one a helluva dust up with Iran at the epicenter before the inauguration.
Bailouts will find the end of their balance sheet and blue dog Democrats will side with Conservatives to stop the madness.
If interest rates are forced up to control inflation, last years economic fiasco will look like a Wal-Mart shopping trip.
Maybe Democrats will finally go to jail.
Obama will be tagged with many of the Dem faux pas and will too concerned with re-election to do anything not poll oriented.
The Chairman O love-fest continues. White House reporters come to blows over who gets to compliment him first at twice weekly press conferences. They will be covered live by the big 3, PBS, Univision and BET. FOX sticks with Seinfeld reruns.
I agree with Cassy, just don’t know how long it will take.
Our enemies sensing apathy and disharmony in the USA will put Obama to the test and he will be proclaimed in the media as all knowing and completely correct, when in reality he blows it big time.
Domestically the Demoralcrats will Smoot-Hawley/Hoover/FDR our way into a a worse econmic mess and blame it on GWB and the Republicans. The US Government will be looking to China, Russia, and Saudi Arabia for a bailout. The “greening” of USA energy needs will put the price of oil and gas up into the nether regions as the federal, state and local governments overtax it to reduce the ballooning gov’t debt and trying to stimulate the economy. The only areas with job/employment growth will be in gov’t jobs.
BTW, Happy New Year to all!
Lakers beat the green snot out of Boston in the Finals. Barry will prove his spine is made of silly putty. The Chinese will own America. Malkin will get her own t.v. show.
The POTUS BO will have lots of problems. The msm won’t see any of them. Those few that do will not be picked on during the prompterized press meets and will eventually be not invited back.
Racism will be the new catch phrase by the msm anytime a GOP/RNC person speaks out.
The GOP/RNC grassroots movement will falter because anyone that steps up to the plate with b@lls will have them cut off my the BO administration and the msm before he/she could take root.
If the economy goes further downhill, I will be youngest “greeter” at my local WalMart.
I predict Obama will have the U.S. turn its back on our only ally in the Middle East, Israel, and as a result, Israel will elect Benjamin Netanyahu as prime minister. Israel will realize it’s on its own, and will take a stronger stand against terrorism.
The U.S., on the other hand, will go back to the Clintonian policy of dealing with terror as a “legal” fight rather than a military fight, and that will embolden terrorists to attack us back on our own soil; however, I think that attack won’t happen until 2010 or 2011.
I also predict a lot of military personnel will ETS if/when their enlistment is over rather than to serve under this doofus. Morale among our services will hit a low not seen since Carter.
The MSM will become professional journalist again.

The media will hold Obama’s feet to the fire, then lick the smores off of his toes, thank him for his kindness, and give him a backrub.
The only four things you can count on happening: war, pestilence, taxes, and the Rolling Stones on tour.
I predict my blog will become as popular as Michelle Malkin’s.
I also believe in Santa Claus, the tooth fairy, and that Barack Obama is a Manchurian plant by the RNC.
Liberals will get even dumber. Conservative women will become even more beautiful.
Government will get bigger, taxes will go up, and BO can do no wrong in the msm’s eyes next year. Easy predictions.

I predict that the more things change, the more they will remain the same. I also predict that the earth will continue to spin on its axis no matter what happens on its surface.
America will continue down the road to self-destruction as the current welfare masses are swollen by ever-increasing bailouts, more government intervention, immigration-friendly reforms, and more la-raza-type organizations.
Large cities such as Detroit, LA, Philly, and Memphis will degenerate even further as police departments are overwhelmed and lose even more control. Citizens will have to fend for themselves more and more.
Americans will quickly lose hope and patience with the Obama monarchy as he falters and fails to accomplish any of his lofty goals. The media will make up excuses for him, saying the job left by the outgoing administration just cannot be fixed right away, if ever, and that he is doing the best that he can. Obama will panic as his staff fails to produce successful “plans” to “fix” America. He will resort to new taxes, higher old taxes, and taxes upon taxes. Inflation will soar.
Utilities and fuels will continue to be expensive as power plants overextend themselves and resources go unexplored due to liberal “green” policies.
Obama will swiftly implement his new strategy of “talking” with the leaders of Iran and other militant states. These leaders will, at best, pretend to talk back while laughing at America’s futile attempts at diplomacy with fanatics.
Iran will continue to pursue nuclear power status. Islamic influence will continue to spread through Pakistan, Africa, and the rest of the world as fat, bearded mullahs continue to brainwash young arabs to turn themselves into human bombs and cannon fodder.
There will continue to be hope for democracy as long as people like me are allowed to write things like this and not be afraid of terrible retribution. God Bless America.

Just reviewing a few of the predictions:
I don’t know about this one. I personally serve the country, not the commander-in-chief. I have faith that alot my brethern in arms will have the same feelings.
Add another farewell tour from Kiss, the Who, and the Eagles.
My wife and I refer to the Channel 3 news at 10pm as the “Body Count Review.” You get sort of numb when the teaser at 5 till 10 every night is “breaking news, _____________ (insert robbery, rape, murder, drive-by, ect…), more in 5 minutes.”

One I can agree with. Looking back at 2008 is proof of that. You can’t write fiction that is as crazy as some of the stuff that happened this year.

Prediction: On January 8th, we find that at least one Electoral College Elector voted for someone other than the candidate they were supposed to vote for. (A “McCain Elector” voted for Mike Huckabee and/or an “Obama Elector” voted for Hillary Clinton)
Prediction: Between January 9th and January 20th, the Supreme Court finds that Obama, McCain, and Calero are all not Natural born citizens, and all three are ineligible to hold the office of President of the United States. According to the 12th Amendment, the House of Representatives will have to vote for President, choosing from a list of only those candidates other than Obama and McCain who received at least one Electoral College vote.
Prediction: If only Mike Huckabee is on that list, Mike Huckabee becomes the next President of the United States. If, however, Hillary Clinton is on that list, Hillary Clinton becomes the next President of the United States.
In any scenario, the VP is Biden, unless enough individual states invalidate their own Electoral College votes (in the wake of the Supreme Court decision) and require a new election in their respective states to choose new electors and hold a new Electoral College vote.
The 20th Amendment says, “the Vice President elect shall act as President until a President shall have qualified”. If no one other than Obama and McCain received Electoral College votes, and both are declared ineligible, then there would be no candidates left for the House to pick from. There would have to be a new Electoral College vote. If states allow the original electors to remain, then Obama’s electors would vote for whoever Obama told them to vote for. I suspect, however, that the electorate would demand new elections for new electors. That race would likely be Mike Huckabee vs. Hillary Clinton.
The Coming Conservative Civil War: the trend of conservative intellectuals hating conservatives will continue and expand. In 2008, we saw P.J. O’Rourke, Kathleen Parker, David Horowitz, and Debbie Schlussel (she is just warming up) take their turns. At the focus of this bonfire of loathing, self and otherwise, will be Sarah Palin who will gradually emerge as the first true leader of conservatives in American since Reagan. While I have misgivings about Gov. Palin — we all do — her potential is enormous.
Republicans wake up, slowly: There will be a gradual realization among Republicans that “Compassionate Conservatism” evolves to “Crony Capitalism” and to stop the latter the former must be crushed. Effigies of George Bush will be burned at the 2012 Republican Convention, if there is one.
Hope and Change ends: Barack the Bold (TM — do not use this phrase without acknowledgement!) with his patented “Spine o’ Steel” (h/t to Joe Biden) will find himself increasingly drawn into foreign policy crises where his dream of social reconstruction of America will die.
Finally, I predict we will continue to be in one hell of a mess.
I predict our Michelle’s blog will continue to expand and will have more readers the New York Times..
I’m with you Dave, but it’s not our brethren we have to worry about… it’ll be our CinC. I served my active duty time during the Bush I/Clinton Military cutback Charlie Foxtrot, and the leadership was stepping all over itself trying to get rid of people. This is not going to be a pleasant four years for those of us who serve, especially if we’ve been doing it awhile.
A bus carrying attendees to a global warming conference in WA will veer off the road into a snowbank outside Seattle and not be discovered until March 3, 2009. Bush will be blamed.
Helen Thomas will have a senior moment when asking the first question at the first POTUS press conference and ask BHO, “if you were a tree, what wood would you be?”
Blacksmiths, teletype repairmen, icemen and VCR repairmen will march on Washington demanding to be bailed out. In an unexpected move, congress will allocate nearly 3 billion dollars to the Mechanical Typewriter Manufacturers Association. The NYT will praise the move yet declare, “but more must be done to preserve these workers so marginalized by the failed economic policies of the Bush Administration”.

Six months into 2009, people will talk about how good 2008 was.
Considering the middle east and particularly where things are going in Afghanistan, the only prediction I can rest assured in is that someone I love will either be deployed or preparing for deployment in 2009. Ugh.
The bailouts are the epitome of the Savior complex our Government has. I guess they won’t stop until they hit rock bottom — unfortunately for all of us they use our money and hard work to cushion their fall.
If they get their way you won’t be reading this site or any right leaning blogs nor hearing conservative programs.Have a happy new year.
My active duty was Regan/Bush1/Clinton. I got off active duty during the Clinton time, but not because of him. I was stuck in an involuntary special duty assignment as an instructor. I did it for a year and a half and that was enough. It was time to get out and join the Air Guard.
Yes, Clinton was rough on the military, but it seems we both survived it. I reenlisted back in May which will get me through 2012 and 26 years total. Good lord willing I’ll reenlist again at that time.
I predict that we will come through the storm. It may take some dark times, but we will remember who we are and what we are about. The strength in this country is not the government, but the people, and I have a lot more trust in the people than I do of the government.
I pray the new year finds you all safe and with those that you love.

I predict in 2009 my craftsman socket set, my bag of marbles, my chia head and my pet rock will still be smarter then 99% of the nobama supporters.

- At least one major newspaper (possibly the NYTimes) will be in Chapter 11 before the year is out.
- The auto bailout will fail to rescue the auto companies. Attempts to implement another bailout will be met with cries of “enough” by outraged voters, which will result in at least one, if not two US automakers in chapter 11.
- Kathleen Parker will become even more insane in her Palin hatred, and even become a champion of Andrew Sullivan’s Trig Trutherism. Parker’s husband will continue to think of Palin as “hot”, further fueling his wife’s insane rage.
- Wimpy conservatives will continue their self spinal extraction procedures, as Krauthammer, Goldberg, Frum, Ponnuru, et al continue to call for a $1/gallon gas tax since gas prices are low. They will continue to allow hope to triumph over experience by insisting that such an insanely stupid tax can be offset dollar per dollar with a FICA tax cut (never mind the pending insolvency of SS). Meanwhile, truly conservative supply side solutions will completely elude their thinking.
- Obama, who’s never taken a stand (or a friend/associate) that wasn’t disposable, will continue to try to do nothing or say anything that will cause any controversy. He will fail anyway.
- Those that criticize Obama’s ineptness will be accused of racism (ok, that one’s pretty easy).
- Obama and the Democrats will continue to blame their failures on Bush, well past the sell by date.
- The approval rating of congress will go even lower than it is now. We may even end up referring to them as the Kelvin congress, when their approval rating hits absolute zero.
- Worldwide temperatures will continue to fall. This will be blamed on global warming.
I pray she takes over for O’Really
Oh, and forgot (ok, this is also too easy) … Joe Biden will make at least one, if not several incredibly stupid gaffes.
Hillary will be so busy running the Obama administration, Bill will take up Moose hunting…
..but the re-enacted Fairness Doctrine will require her to share it with Al Franken. It’s OK, they get along and agree on many things…

Prediction: Cole slaw will make a comeback in 2009.
I predict…
1. Obama’s administration will continue to be embroiled in one scandal after another.
2. At least one quarter of his appointed Cabinet candidates will not get confirmed.
3. We will have another Democrat Administration whose political contacts disproportionately die mysterious deaths, have fatal accidents, and die from suicides.
4. Israel will still not have met the standards the Palestinians have established for a harmonious peace…the death of the Jewish state and it’s people.
5. And lastly, liberals will find another cause for which they can blame on America, yet again another reason to take more of our money (with no actuarial accountability,) and will move us closer to universal anarchy.
As for predictions:
GM and Chrysler will experience an unprecedented drop in sales as the American public expresses it’s displeasure over the auto bailout. Both companies will be forced to file for bankruptcy before the end of February, and the American taxpayers will never be repaid.
Congress and PEBO will continue with the lame attempts to artificially prevent the market from correcting, and will only succeed in creating a market downturn that will make Jimmah Cahteh look like a genius.
Caroline Kennedy Whatever-her-name-is will be appointed to Hillary Clinton’s Senate seat, and she will suck like a hull breach.
New Yorkers will start buying Coke Classic off of Ebay.
LSU’s football team will win the National Championship for the third time in the new Millenium.

I agree with Michelle on the bailout. There will be several “repubicans” as Mark Levin would say, that will go along with the democrats for this bailout. But to their chagrin, they will lose re-election bids due to attentive republicans. So watch out RINOs.

I also predict that there will be more scandals on Wall Street and the antipathy toward the captains of finance will grow even more intense.
I predict I will be lit up by midnight and drunk commenting by 12:02 am.

I predict Russia will invade the Ukraine and Obama will let them get away with it. Then China will move on Taiwan, and Obama will let them get away with it.
… and we will have to again remind conservatives that criticism of Wall St. greed and malfeasance is NOT equivalent to criticizing capitalism and free markets. In fact, at this point, the relationship between Wall St. (i.e. benefactors and beneficiaries of the Democrats) and capitalism/free markets is tenuous at best.

The Sun will come up in the east, there will be floods and droughts and the Democrats will blame Big Business. Al Gore will wet himself during one of his screeds and his Depends will fail him.

At least two of my sports teams will rip my heart out, throw it to the ground, and stomp on it repeatedly, and I will continue to keep coming back to them. The others will all disappoint me in some fashion. Go Cleveland!
I predict that after a few months of the Obamasiah (and gang) at the helm, the sales of K-Y Jelly will skyrocket — Buy stock now!
I predict the drug cartels of mexico will cross the border on a regular basis with the help of the mexican military. The cartels will move to take over US border towns by legally crossing with the new “quick card” while the US government gives Mexico $4bill to assist in the war on drugs.
The NASCO highway is renamed the Bush/Fox Corridor and the SPP will become a simcity playstation game.
Obama will discover that the “Mickey Mouse” dontions were really from the Sinaloa Cartel and will invite them to stay in the Lincoln bedroom–all on the same night.
Ramos and Compean will still be political prisioners one year from now because Bush will sign an executive order the last day in office requiring them to serve their entire sentence.
Obama will pardon Aldrete next Christmas as a sign of good will to the Sinaloa Cartel.
There will not be another attempt to ram “comprehensive immigration reform” down our throats because the cartels will promise direct deposits to Obamas offshore account to ignore the entire situation.

1. BO the Prez will be as slow to take positions on international incidents as BO the Prez-elect.
2. BO’s opinions will change with the polls.
3. By comparison, Hillary’s performance as First Lady will seem gracious versus what we will see from Michelle Obama.
A little late, but here are mine:
1. By the end of the year economist will say we are officially in a depression.
2. Fans of MLB and the NBA will revolt because of the ridiculous salaries and ticket prices, causing many teams in each league to go bankrupt and the NBA to ask for a bailout.
3. BDS will be replaced by ODS (and by the same people). We will see some character flaws in Obama, mainly he is overly analytical and a micromanager like Carter. His lack of direction and commitment will cause a vaccuum, filled by members on the left trying to get their own agenda’s through.
4. A chief democrat (Franks, Dodd, Schumer) will do a perp walk for FBI investigations into Fannie Mae bribes.
5. Wind Mills will be banned in many locations because they kill birds.
6. Russia will invade the Ukraine, saying that the Ukraine owes them money.
7. Israel drops a Nuke on Iran.
8. This is already happening. Green house gases will be blamed for Global Cooling and the coming Ice Age.
9. By the end of the year, the press will start calling “saving”, hoarding. People who work and save money, will be called hoarders. Paulson is already starting this by blamer “savers” in developing nations for our economic collapse.
10. Obama will bring back the draft - 18-27 year old men and women. Except he will call it national service and each will have a choice (Army, Peace Corps, Vista, Acorn or Border Guard).
11. The world figures out the the US Fed has run a gigantic Ponzi scheme. They quit buying US Bonds, driving the US into a bankruptcy.
