Gee, sounds a lot like our liberal government schools.
It makes me laugh whenever I see the likes of Bill Moyers or Keith Blowhardmann dig up video of some whoozat evangelical preacher and promote him to a nationally-significant influence in the conservative movement while they pooh-pooh authentic jihadists parading through the “Arab streets” and American wannabes who actually plot acts of terrorism.
Then I remember that a lot of people take them seriously, and I stop laughing.
Liberals don’t have to understand the rage. They are lock-step with them in their rage against Israel and the United States.
Is there another religion in the world that teaches hate? I believe and many will disagree that the Devil himself thought up the religion of islam to compete with Christianity and to deceive the multitudes. The Devil has given it a little creedence to make this religion believeable. Those who test things can see this is just an evil system bent on killing and destroying.
This is our school system. We pay for it through the United Nations.
Um, let me make a couple of suggestions:
1) That Israel give the citizens of Gaza 24 hours to leave. At the end of the 24 hours, carpet bombing commences.
2) Any member of Hamas, Hezbolla or other terrorist organization found on Israeli soil is summarily executed and buried with a pork chop tied around their neck, face down and pointed anywhere but Mecca.
3) Any time a homicide bomber actually detonates a bomb, whatever is found of his remains are buried in a pig skin.
4) Israel is immediately provided with funding, equipment and sufficient personnel to finish the job.
Just a suggestion.

I’ve been to a Palestinian refugee camp in the West Bank, where children are born into abject poverty and hopelessness. Forget what’s taught in their “schools,” it’s the refugees that do most of the dirty work. They are pawns of their own people with no real chance of an education or escape; their lives spent immersed in chilling anti-U.S. and anti-Israel, anti-Semitic propoganda. The culture of victimhood there makes our own “victims” look like amateur pretenders. They are taught to believe they are chosen by God and that he unequivocally does NOT value all of his children equally, and to act out through violence is their only answer and only resort. They learn not to fear death, but to embrace it and welcome it as a release from the circumstances in which they live. Listening to a refugee tell us why the U.S. is pure evil and Israel must be destroyed while she held her little boy on her lap was one of the most eye-opening and chilling experiences of my lifetime. I was in college at the time – it was one of things that pushed me right. Peace “talks” will never work. I knew then what I know now, that you cannot “talk” to people and come to some sort of accord or agreement when the core philosophy of their psyches is so diametrically opposite of ours in the West. How do you “talk” with people who don’t have a single shared value, one common core interest, and who don’t value life, theirs or anyone else’s, and who have nothing to live for except to be a continual pawn in some sort of sick game? How do you really live in peace with mothers and fathers who hope that their children will bring glory to their family by becoming suicide bombers?

1. Talk to the Iran and all the other terrorist regimes … he still thinks that is the way to stop terrorism …
2. Disarm the USA of its own arsenal of advanced weaponry … He stated he would pursue that as one of his major goals …
3. You made mention of the Clinton retreads … many of same ones that wouldn’t pull the trigger on Bin Laden and would not respond to the numerous attacks by Al Qaeda the last time they were in charge …
4. He has already shown a propensity to expect everything to be settled at the U.N. (Useless Nincompoops) … he is in total lockstep with that worthless collection of anti-Americanism disguised as a world body of nations …
5. He wants to stop military weapons development … which shows that he obviously does not understand the concept of military strength as a deterrent …
As for an attack on our soil … I point to his idiotic milquetoast response to the Russian invasion of Georgia, the attacks in India and the current Israeli situation …
As I see it they are going to chew him up and spit him out because they all know he isn’t going to come after them …

Everyone who has honestly studied Islam understands that as long as these people ARE mohammedans they will not change; this NOT extreme islam-this IS islam, this is what the Koran, Quran, whatever, teaches.
Perhaps most mohammedans do not engage in jihad–I see no great evidence they oppose such. After these huge jihadist marches in Britain, France and Belgum and such where is the “moderate, peace loving overwhelming” mohammedans? Did we miss it?

There is no way to talk to people who for generations have been so instilled in hatred for Israel and the west. After a time it becomes a self perpetuating cycle of hate.
I feel no pity nor compassion for any ethnic or “religious” group that portrays it’s women, and children as merchants of mass homicide (read: Islamic martyrdom).
Using the Palestinian/Islamic definition of combatant (Jewish civilians; old men, women, children, and infants, and their supporters,) it makes perfect sense for the IDF to target Hamas anywhere. In the Palestinian/Islamist world, civilian populations do not exist in Zion, only legitimate targets for Jihad.

This week I heard Bill O’Reilly refer to “a conflict and hatred that is thousands of years old”
Bill was either reading a talking point that Fox handed him, or was referring to the Christian-Muslim wars going back to the crusades.
Hundreds of thousands of Jews lived rather peacefully in the middle east with their Arab and Iranian neighbors for a very, very long time. The Ottoman empire, which ruled much of the region for centuries until World War I, had policies of tolerance.
The trouble as we know is only started in 1948 with the creation of Israel. It is 60 years old, not thousands.
Another fact is that 20% of Israel’s residents are Palestinian – that’s right – Palestinian. They were residents of the Palestine Mandate who peacefully remained in the country after 1948.
Members of the Democratic party also seem to have forgotten that the convicted assassin of Robert Kennedy, Sirhan Sirhan, was a Palestinian.
I don’t know why the press seems to have been ordered to be a little lighter on Israel this time, or why YouTube felt it necessary to ban video submitted by the Israel Defense Forces.

It is so infuriating that so many Americans refuse to open their eyes to the real dangers here. I spent enough time with Palestinian cab drivers, shopkeepers, money changers, professors, etc while I was in the Middle East to be left completely unsurprised on 9-11 (nor was I surprised by the far left’s self blame after-the-fact). The irony is that we were welcomed as Americans into the refugee camp because they wanted us to leave feeling profoundly sorry for them and feeling very angry at their Israeli “oppressors”. You could not help but feel compassion for them – the children just broke your heart – but on the second count I couldn’t believe how many of the students fell for it hook, line and sinker. They could not get past the horror of the camp to see it in context, or understand the storyline leading up to these people’s lives in no way could excuse the mass murder of innocent civilians. And I found it hilarious that those who most identified with their cause were those who fancied themselves as the most open-minded and tolerant of the group (pro-choice, gay rights, feminists, non-religious…you get the picture). After we left one of the Professors asked something like, “If the US or Europe were to find itself someday in the stranglehold of radical Islam, what rights would be jeopardized?” And someone aptly answered, “Abortion, gay rights, freedom of religion, freedom of speech, women’s rights…” and a few of the liberal students in the back of the bus started laughing going, “That will NEVER happen!!!!” I can’t remember his exact question but I will never forget the response.
If you think that’s bad take a look at this.
The response is almost word for word what I expected… It’s all Israel’s fault… The Israeli’s are Nazis… etc. etc.
I expect kind of crap that from the Arab world but I still can’t get my head around how anyone in this country can think that way.

DesertLover, concerning your point number five: I would recommend the book “Science Goes To War” by Ernest Volkman. Mr. Volkman describes how many empires,kingdoms, and nations rose to power through weapons development, and then were destroyed when they failed to adapt to changing circumstances (other nations or empires developed counter tactics or defenses that stymied their previously successful systems). In his book he describes how a major reason for the fall of Rome was the Romans failing to adapt to the use of lances held by horsemen, which penetrated their turtle defense (clustered shields) – which resulted in an horrific defeat and slaughter of the main Roman army which left Rome defenseless.
This, and Obama’s call for massive government spending to lift the US out of recession (similar to the failed New Deal blueprint), shows an alarming lack of historical knowledge. This is why I am very much concerned for the damage that could be wreaked by an Obama administration coupled with Democrat control of both houses.
To # 45, 51, and 56: while the fighting between the Jews and Muslims can be traced to what ITookTheRedPill said in #51, keep in mind that the fighting in Mid-East can be traced back to when God allowed Israel to move into the promised land. When Israel took over the promised land, they were told to eliminate everyone that was living there–Israel did not kill everyone, thus creating temptations to take them away from God, and creating a hostile environment. So one is correct when they say the fighting in the Mid-East is thousands of years old.

A more recent example of that would be the fact that we developed the atomic bomb and used it to end the war in the Pacific in WWII in August 1945… and when the Germans surrendered in May 1945 they were using what were called “buzz bombs” which were the first military rockets … both were examples of adapting to different conditions in the 2 hemispheres … ground troops were in Europe on D-Day and later into Italy and a more conventional war was fought while the islands of Japan made a single ground invasion more difficult (Okinawa, Guadalcanal, Iwo Jima, Saipan, the Philipines, Midway and others) …

That there was some kind of Golden Age for the Jews under their mohammedan overlords is largely a myth in it’s self. After Mohamed himself killed the adult male Jews of Medina and sold the women and children into slavery he then turned toward the Jews of the Date Groves and enslaved them. There was from time to time an enlightened mohammedan leader who allowed the subject peoples to thrive. They would do well in Spain from time to time always to be brought down by mob riots. In 1368, Toledo, Spain a Jew was appointed Governor and the mobs killed 8,000 Jews and enslaved the rest.
But then everybody else, east and west, seems to go on Jew killing sprees. The Eastern Church seems to have been particularly virulent but the Western Church bloodied their hands plenty of times. King Richard the Lionhearted borrowed money from Jewish merchants and set off a slaughter of Jews in England and I think the first use of the term Holocaust.
