Here’s the perfect, all-in-one rejoinder to John McCain’s shameless money-grubbing solicitation of the conservatives he snubbed throughout his career and presidential campaign.

Commenting on the new organization, ConservativeHQ.com Chairman Richard Viguerie stated, “I’m not sure what Senator McCain is referring to when he talks about ‘Republican ideals’ but if it’s along the lines of McCain-Feingold, amnesty for Illegal immigrants, carbon caps, ‘gun show loopholes’ or trillion-dollar Wall Street bailouts, I think he meant to say ‘Big Government ideals’.”
All that was missing was a snarky “my friend” at the end.

It really is sad. This is a very dark chapter in our history. Everyone who participated in supporting Obama/trashing McCain (either/or – because these two actions have the same result to influence people on election day. At the least, the people who read this page, and then anyone who is exposed to this second or third hand) bear the responsibility for their actions. And the obvious result.
I certainly hope that the whole ‘we need a 1976 to get a 1980′ cunning plan actually works. Or we can enjoy watching the 8 years of Obama, doing whatever he wants with the help of the democrats, bringing liberal judges to the supreme court, signing laws in their favor, blocking laws and legislation in our favor – and of course going back to a ‘we’ll arrest them after the fact’ approach to terrorism.
All for this one issue of amnesty that we could have fought McCain on. Just as Bush’s pick for supreme court, Hariet Miers was rejected. And how much influence will we have against the democrat Obama as republicans?
Again, this is a very dark chapter in our history, and it’s one that I am very embarrassed for the people responsible. Even if they aren’t embarrassed for themselves.
It’s ironic the defenders of McCain are trashing his critics as disloyal to the party, considering McCain’s whole career was based on trashing Republicans at every opportunity.

I lived in Arizona and did some low level campaign work for McCain’s run for congress. When he ran for senator I also backed him.
By the time of this campaign I was thoroughly disenchanted with this man. His “flirtations’ with the most liberal of “the other side of the aisle” had reached levels that told me to doubt his “Republicanism”.
His treatment of his own running mate, Gov. Palin, is despicable. I worry that his poor performance and poor treatment of her will have damaged irreparably a truly positive force in American conservative politics, Sarah Palin.
On a sightly lighter note, I knew something was wrong when McCain bought his retreat in Sedona AZ. This is one a very few fully recognized “tin foil hat” capitals of the US. This is Woo-Woo land on steroids.

I am a veteran. U.S. Army, 1966-1969. Commissioned through OCS. Served as directed…nothing heroic. I certainly respect the sacrifices that so many of my comrades from those days suffered. But let me speak plainly: Some people let their association with the military completely warp their perspective. McCain’s heroism and suffering as a POW can not possibly excuse his relentless treachery toward his political comrades in the long, unheroic struggle to save the country from the left. McCain’s modern history is of stabbing his colleagues in the back, opportunism, and show-boating. Get over it military groupies. A one-time great hero became a scumbag.

McCain can’t go away fast enough. Why doesn’t he just make it official and switch parties? He’s spent most of the last 10 years trying to undermine the GOP, why or how he got nominated is a mystery.
Virginia – how he got nominated is easy.
In the early republican primaries they have open voting – which means that anyone can vote – regardless of party. The democrats came in and voted overwhelmingly for McCain. By the time the later primaries came around he already had enough delegates and momentum that it didn’t matter anymore.
I remember Tammy Bruce on her radio show and on her website telling everyone to go out and vote in their primaries. I commented that because I live in indiana, it wouldn’t matter who I voted for in the primaries because it would be settled long before it ever got to me. She called me a smart-ass – but by the time the Indiana primary came around the issue had long been decided and McCain didn’t even try because he didn’t need to.
We got the candidate the democrats wanted us to have.
