Just saw this article on Drudge. Bush regrets that immigration reform did not pass because it implied Republicans are anti-immigrant.

He really has never understood our position. Were we that inarticulate or was he that insulated from reality by his staff? The one thing Obama is correctly resisting is being fully insulated from the outside by his handlers and staff. I hope he can pull that off. He might come to understand reality. I must be hallucinating!

Interesting-thanks for the link. My youngest daughter lived on peanut butter in high school and college. Her oldest daughter ate peanut butter for awhile until they found she had asthma. Something about the inhaler medicine makes her allergic to peanut butter and some soaps. Her reactions are not severe but they are miserable.

The Left Wing Media (not MSM) continues to trash Sarah Palin. This includes some conservative pundits (Bill O’Reilley is one of them) pointing out her supposed “lack of experience” for high political office. President Obama and most of his administration choices prove that experience is no longer needed–a pretty face counts more.
    ***
The “SarahCuda” needs someone like William J. Bennett (AMERICA–THE LAST BEST HOPE)–to help her write a book on her views on personal Christian and civic responsibility–and on her views on government. I think she could improve her chances for a 2012 presidential run like Ronald Reagan did when he was the “new face” on the political scene.
    ***
I expect the wild spending and Dimocratic corruption and ineffective government in the next 4 years to give her a fair shot at winning. She needs to start her campaign now–without the carping MSM interviews. She looks like the REAL DEAL conservative candidate to me. A book tour (ala Ann Coulter) would be great publicity and national exposure for her.

Hey, you’re local. I work at the Wal-mart Distribution Center at Zions Crossroads (I-64 west from Richmond) and I believe they’re still hiring. It’s a laborious process to get in there, the work pretty much sucks but the pay is decent.

Don’t let the libs chase you out of a lovely community. Even though I get lost every time I go there, I do enjoy driving around and seeing all the beautiful parkland, etc. I hope it doesn’t build up too much more! I have been retired for about a year, and most of my Buffets friends have also moved on, so not sure if Buffets is still in bankruptcy. They have changed their menu and offer a salad bar only option, plus take-out. So maybe that will help. Shortly before I left, they had bought out a bunch of loser restaurants in the south and it was a very bad decision. Their culture was so different from ours, we had a very hard time pulling them into the fold. They sucked up a ton of Buffet money. I don’t know if Buffets still owns them or if they were able to ditch them. Anyway, that is boring stuff, but you did ask!! I’m grateful every day that I am out of that rat race forever!

Joe The Plumber is back in the news. Regarding his “spreading the wealth” question, I heard there is solid data to show that if the 31-50 percent of wage earners who pay no taxes (including welfare recipients, low wage earners and non-producers in general) had not been allowed to vote, Obama would have lost the election by a substantial margin. Makes sense to me, but I would really like to see the data and methods used to obtain it. Anybody know where it is? Should people who don’t contribute to the national treasury be allowed to vote? Thomas Jefferson among others thought that only people who owned property should be allowed to vote. Voting non-taxpayers brew corruption, because immoral politicians will promise low income earners largess from the public treasury as a means to buy votes. The maddening aspect is that they use taxpayers money to buy these votes. This is what is shaking my world today and almost every day I see or hear about Obama in the news.

Coulter’s thesis is intriquing. Instead of the media being the propaganda wing of the Democrat Party, as it is usually viewed, the Democrat Party is in fact a wholly owned subsidiary of the media. Which leads to an interesting speculation: if the MSM should collapse economically — quite possible — the effect could be devestating on the Democrats. Something positive to think about.

Most intriguing, Beenthere. I’m not normally a big Ann Coulter fan for a lot of reasons, including but not limited to her tendency to use feminine indicators as synonyms for cowardly and cowardice, but I will say the following for her. She hasn’t been whining. She hasn’t been defeatist. I recently binged on her columns after reading too much of that kind of thing at once.

I also find it very encouraging how Israel has been really stepping up to the plate and attacking a very serious threat to civilization. I’ve been periodically checking Israellycool for information since Mrs. Malkin provided the link. The Heritage Foundation Morning Bell (free e-newsletter) is also a good source of conservative news that doesn’t declare the world is ending every two minutes, and I’m going to give the blog for Citizens Against Government Waste a try. (I’m not sure that they’re specifically conservative, but I like them. They like to tell the government not to spend money.) Sometimes I just want to know that conservatives haven’t given up.
