Roll call vote: The first vote of the 111th Congress
Hey, did you know the Senate was in session yesterday? Harry Reid gathered up his troops for a weekend vote on the massive omnibus lands bill I told you about last week. In a rebuke to conservative GOP Sen. Tom Coburn, the Dems (along with 12 go-along, get-along, spend-a-lot Republicans) agreed to proceed with a mega-package of some 160 lands-related separate measures wrapped up in a big government bow and stuffed with earmarks.
Here’s the roll call vote, with the big-spending GOP dozen who joined the Democrats underlined in yellow. Appropriate color, I think:

Jim DeMint didn’t mince any words when calling out the capitulationist Republican 12 who aided Reid and the Dems. Dingy Harry has blocked Republicans from proposing any amendments to the package. The Bend-over GOP Dozen deserve a smack upside the head.
Says DeMint:
A dozen Republicans did vote for the measure, which irritated Senator Jim DeMint, Republican of South Carolina, one of Mr. Coburn’s chief allies.
“If my colleagues on my side continue to accept this, there’s going to be no such thing as a Republican Party,” he said.
Yup, here’s your rebranding:

How could anyone NOT put their feet in the water up there at Itasca State Park?? I did it too, many years ago when I visited. I think it is really neat that I have been in the water at the source of the Mississippi and also have gone swimming in the Gulf of Mexico where it empties out. Thanks for the compliment about our State. I guess that is one area where I get a bit miffed when someone criticizes something without a rational reason. But then, no one ever said Bill Grant was rational. I hope he is not related to our most beloved Vikings coach of all time…Bud Grant! Wouldn’t that be a kick in his teeth!
Live life. Do things. Smile along the way.
ECS, I’m with you. I mentioned on another thread that my Mom finally is in the process of changing her political affiliation from Dem to Rep. I don’t know if all this Obamamania was just too much for her, but she usually votes R anyway.
Problem is, it’s too late. The Rs are now what the Dems were 50 years ago, when she first started voting.
I’m ready to bail on the Rs, but I don’t want to run “away” from something, I’d rather run “to” something, if you know what I mean.

I doubt that there is anything out there that could get an honest days work out of you for any cause. Regardless, you can’t challenge what I wrote, maybe you want the democrats to be in charge.

You elect nincompoops. You elect professional wrestlers. You elect islamists. Islamists! Shortly after 9/11. You elect al goddamn frankin… Put down your cocoa and go see if you can help your son-in-law get un-Re-educated.
I have never written that I haven’t been there. Flat, cold, moonbats, islamists… It’s all yours.
So.. no takers on the draft Michelle Malkin to run in her state on the “conservative” party slate and see if she wins idea. It’s a whole lot easier to flush the GOP and use someone like Olympia Snowe as an excuse… Even if it means selling out the best chance of pushing the principals you supposedly advocate. Nothing will push the country left faster than the conservatives making themselves irrelevant.
Bastards one and all.
Bill…I do recall you saying you had never been in Minnesota. But, no big deal. If you choose to judge an entire state and all its people by the politics of that state, then you must also hate California, New York, Oregon, Washington State, etc. etc. Must be pretty sad to hate that much. I pity you. Don’t bother replying. I’m done discussing this with you. Good night.

Post a link. It isn’t true. I have even seen Minnesotans in their natural habitat. (In the mall food court, chewing with their mouths open.)
Which one of them elected Jesse the body as Governor?
The only thing sadder would be the one person the Minnesota chamber of commerce taking to the internet to defend the tundra state every time an outsider who escaped without being carried away by the mosquito swarm relates his or her experiences there.
It’s no bother: Minnesota sucks.
Great, We’re done. Thanks again for Al Frankin… and Prince… and that always amusing Garrison Keillor… and your collapsing bridges… Heck, even Vermont makes good maple syrup.
If the party keeps agreeing with Democrats especially on key issues… Ill be sure soon to stop calling myself Republican.
Im a Conservative. I want the borders sealed. I want a Strong Military. I want a Cultural melting pot ie. National language - English. I want no government touching of The 1st and 2nd Amendment. I want The US Constitution upheld.
Hmmm, seems like bill grant and percy peabody are one and same.
I think this picture sums up what I think of Bill Grant’s posts. There’s no real principle to them, just attacks on those who won’t blindly vote for his team for the sake of his team winning.
