Well, he got me there... what can I say? But why does he have to single out women? That seems a little sexist to me. Sometimes I just feel pretty in a period dress.

Unfortunately, the only time I get to post anymore is when I come into town from the plantation. There just arent enough slaves to power my electric generator these days. And times are tough, so I'm going to apply for a bailout for my plantation here in Savannah.

At least in the meantime ( and since all races are out of work) its cheaper for me to outsource the cotton picking to the hispanics rather than recruit in Africa these days.... lord knows these white kids are too lazy to pick a row.

I have to figure out how to get one of these race cards just think what I could get with no effort by just adopting a victim mentality with my hand out and being incapable of never feeling any shame. It appears in many sectors of our society the once proud American standard of self reliance and personal responsibility is quickly slipping away never to return.

I am sick to death of blacks who play the race card. Any time they do it, they should be hit in the face with a pie.

THAT'S how foolish they look when they do it.

Rep. Clyburn doesn't know the whole history of slavery in his state:

In Charleston, South Carolina in 1860 125 free Negroes owned slaves; six of them owning 10 or more. Of the $1.5 million in taxable property owned by free Negroes in Charleston, more than $300,000 represented slave holdings (5). In North Carolina 69 free Negroes were slave owners (6).

In 1860 William Ellison was South Carolina's largest Negro slaveowner. In Black Masters. A Free Family of Color in the Old South, authors Michael P. Johnson and James L. Roak write a sympathetic account of Ellison's life. From Ellison's birth as a slave to his death at 71, the authors attempt to provide justification, based on their own speculation, as to why a former slave would become a magnate slave master.

Just make a trip to Columbia sometime and see all the monuments to himself that Clyburn has earmarked during his congressional career. He has even proposed his own version of a "bridge to nowhere."
The man is shameless.

The article pointed out that Rep Clyburn is 'the highest-ranking black lawmaker in the House' and did not mention the race of Gov Sanford. Being a political junkie, I know who is who, who is what. But, is it playing some kind of card, metioning the race of one person, and not the other?

Gov Sanford has a point that Rep Clyburn did not address the question directly, and went off on an unnecessray tangent.
