Obama worship at the NY Division of Housing and Community Renewal

By Michelle Malkin  •  January 14, 2009 04:42 PM

A reader who works for the New York State Division of Housing and Community Renewal IT department would like you to know how affordable housing tax dollars are being spent.

He e-mails:

We are being forced to broadcast the inauguration to all staff in multiple locations throughout the state. This is a big undertaking for us, requiring staff to stop providing affordable housing for all New Yorkers, and instead focus on streaming an inaugural address.

…This needs media attention.

The people of New York deserve to know where their tax dollars are going.

The NYS Division of Housing and Community Renewal just imposed dramatic budget cuts to programs that help assist New Yorkers. Those programs are out, and streaming Presidential Address’ using NYS employees, equipment, and other resources are in.

Every network under the sun, including QVC and Comcast’s all-Obama channel, will be streaming the inaugural. Why is this necessary?

Like I said this morning: Welcome to the era of “shared sacrifice.”

However, as Winston Smith points out, he has never seen, nor remembers anyone else seeing Big Brother, and suggests that he never existed. This is also true of Emmanuel Goldstein, whom Winston Smith points out is, if real, definitely dead, but may have been created for propaganda purposes.

But with these micro webcams they will know who is watching, who is suitably enthusiastic-first government employees, then the rest.

1984 or the Third Reich, or the USSR they will be watching the watchers. Be suitably enthusiastic. Will our Liberals and Progressives do well? The Great Purge (also known as the “Great Terror”) of 1930 answered that.

It’s not that sinister. The entire federal government (other than emergency services and inauguration-related) is off. Just a lot simpler and fair with some of the government having to be out of the way (everyone downtown, for example). Metro will probably be overwhelmed, but they seem to be making one heck of a good try to meet the requirements.

Getting out of the area seems to be the best idea–and one that I am planning on doing. I haven’t liked massive crowds for a long time.
