I will attempt to catch some of the parade, simply because my old high school band will be playing in it.

For the rest of the $150 million Obamagasm, I will regretably be taking care of my daughters, indoctrinating them with fierce pro-American lessons.

Perhaps when they come to take me to Gitmo, I can get a cell near WarEagle.

I heard something this morning about military in the D.C. area not involved in the circus being told to stay home. It seems someone has the sense to know that public transportation to work will be slim to none.

It’s not that sinister. The entire federal government (other than emergency services and inauguration-related) is off. Just a lot simpler and fair with some of the government having to be out of the way (everyone downtown, for example). Metro will probably be overwhelmed, but they seem to be making one heck of a good try to meet the requirements.

Getting out of the area seems to be the best idea–and one that I am planning on doing. I haven’t liked massive crowds for a long time.

I’ll miss the inauguration broadcasts because I will be at work. Novel, I know, but other people’s mortgages have to come from somewhere. *cry*

I’m sure someone will post it to YouTube, and I’m relying on conservative blogs to tell me if he managed it without a teleprompter. What’s the Vegas line on that?

Buckle your seat belts because this is all just a dress rehearsal. Kids in NYC schools are being told now the U.S. has finally turned a page in its “conscience” and “humanity” and this presidency supersedes Apollo 11 in its effect on civilization. Incredible. Has anyone seen that commercial for the Obama memorial plate on Fox, remarking on his “compassionate smile and kind eyes”? I kid you not. Wonder how they commented on Bush/Reagan.

Obama, the prez who can do no wrong because someone else caused it somewhere, somewhen.

We’re supposed to have this on for the students. I’m going to register myself as a conscientious objector and abstain from this particular nightmare.

We actually got an email from the superintendent telling people not to make it a political rally, so I suppose my reactions to this spectacle would make it one and I would actually be insubordinate by watching.

They’re having parties here. PARTIES. It’s a frigging inaugaration. In my life, I have parties when kids have birthdays, when people get married, and when other cool stuff happens. Not when some idiot politician get elected.

Then again, I have a life.

As for the 20th, I fully plan on continuing to not give a sh*t and perhaps read the owner’s manual to my mini heater.
