AP’s final dig at President Bush

By Michelle Malkin  •  January 15, 2009 09:36 PM

President Bush delivered his farewell address this evening. He leaves a mixed legacy. I give him credit where it is due and blame where it is due. But one thing is unadulterated: The pure contempt of the man from the MSM.

Here’s how the Associated Press headlined its dispatch about the speech:

Bush address includes laundry list of back patting

In his farewell address to the nation, President George W. Bush is acknowledging that many of his decisions are unpopular with the American people. But he says there can be no debate about the results.

Indeed, a text of the speech comes with a laundry list of what Bush says are successes.

And there you have it: One final, BDS-tinged kiss-off masquerading as news.

Yes, I think I hear cheering from the AP newsroom, too.

You should really be more upset about movie stars, political memorabilia, US Weekly and Dunkin’ Donuts. All this silliness about the failures of the president just weighs a man down. Don’t you realize he’s good and decent? The kind of guy you can go on a bike ride with. Or share a beer with. Isn’t that enough? Sheesh.

    We’re screwed.

Don’t be too sure. The next generation is often rebellious.

    * Figure out what happened to the TARP money

ASK THE DEMS. THEY JAMMED THIS DOWN THE THROAT OF AMERICA

Bush pushed the bank bailout and opposed the auto bailout. The Bush administration is refusing to say how TARP money is being spent. Democrats in Congress are asking.

Except for the word “Indeed”, this could have come from last night’s Rachel Maddow Show. Her smile shows how clever she thinks she is while delivering a phrase like “a laundry list of what Bush says . . . ”

By the way, the pompous use of the word “Indeed” sounds very Keith Olberman.

And we’re supposed to accept this tripe as news.

Misleading – the administration is following the recommendations of the type of “economists” you were touting just the other day, you know, the Krugman type, the ones who can’t do, but teach.

    Democrats in Congress are asking.

Apparently not in unison because if enough of them asked, they would be answered. President Bush was a terrific, pro-active president who did his job – he kept us safe for over seven years! Let’s see B Hussein Obama do that for just four.
