Since the amount of money in these TARP/bailout/stimulus/shush funds is so gigantic, that's what people naturally focus on. It's also worth noting how miserably government does on projects that are paid for by your money.

A prime example is right in my neighborhood. An addition of a carpool lane to a section of a freeway for only a few miles has now gone on for more than five years with no end in sight. The traffic situation is much worse than it was before, with cars staying on surface streets for longer periods of time, belching pollution as they idle. Time and time, deadlines have not been met, and no one or no company has been held to account. A few blocks away, work began on an existing on-ramp more than a year ago. It is still closed, although signs first promised it would reopen September 15. I think the next date was October 15. The last goal was completion by the end of 2008. There are new signs, new unused lanes, and even functioning, useless, traffic signals, but the "work" still has to go on for some reason - perhaps to pad the pockets of the construction companies and unions - the same folks who are now lobbying for pieces of the ever-increasing federal boondoggle fund.

Republicans lost the election because they did not stick together....We have part two of the bail out because Republicans will not stick together. These turncoats should be ejected from the Party. Sadly, we as Republicans, are getting what we deserve.

It's high time that Vitter gets a position of power in the Senate. He's one of the very few good Republican politicians left on the hill.

"Owners of capital will stimulate working class to buy more and

Alexander (R-TN)
Gregg (R-NH)
Kyl (R-AZ)
Landrieu
Lugar (R-IN)
Snowe (R-ME)
Voinovich (R-OH)
Hatch (R-UT)

What is the deal with Kyl and Hatch? Both are once good conservatives from safe Republican states who have been acting very squishy the last few years.

woops, delete Landrieu she's a real Dem, not a poser like those others. Atleast she's honest enough not to represent herself as something she isn't. I would trust her more than any of them. Her constituents knew what they were getting when they voted for her. Unlike us Republicans who have been lied to.

But for these RINOs who failed to support Vitter's resolution, it would have passed:
Alexander (R-TN)
Gregg (R-NH)
Kyl (R-AZ)
Landrieu
Lugar (R-IN)
Snowe (R-ME)
Voinovich (R-OH)
Hatch (R-UT)

We must run these people out of the party if we ever expect to save this country.
