The Generational Theft Act of 2009: Now online!

By Michelle Malkin  •  January 15, 2009 03:22 PM

The House Whip’s office sends notice that the House Democrat Appropriations portion of the Obama stimulus bill — remember: it’s really the Generational Theft Act of 2009 — is now online.

Sift through it here and here.

Ways and Means text not up yet.

Get digging! This is your money and your children and grandchildren’s future. Don’t let it get flushed down the government potty without a fight.

***

It’s not enough, of course. John Boehner’s reax: “Oh my God.”

A couple of Blago-style f-bombs would have been more appropriate and excusable.

Already Obama and the Democratic Congress are governing better than Bush and the Republicans. It’s literally like day and night. Democrats announce bills publically and post full drafts with specific language so that the public can see and debate it before Congress votes. It gives time for right wing crazies to mount an opposition (as you are doing) so all points of view can be aired.

One request — when it’s passed, please don’t whine that it’s totalitarian. It’s the will of the majority of Americans.

They are writing in safeguards for the taxpayer. Recipients will be made public and held accountable. What a difference good government makes.

The Democrats are like the Politburo, who were also disciples of a socialist system. They attempted to treat anemia with leeches. When the leeches failed they tried other varietes of leeches. But the result was the same, because a leech is a leech is a leech. After repeated use of leeches the patient died.

There is no “Change” here; merely the re-application of an approach that has never worked in all of history.

lgm, the government has been run by liberals or Democrats for most of the last 100 years, why did this “good government” not appear before now? It is government run by Democrats, primarily, which has caused and aggravated the current debacle.

The best thing for government to do now is nothing but they have, as the Right Stuff astronauts used to say, “screwed the pooch” this time. I say let them do as they please, it’s too late for Republicans to find their spine and make a difference anyway. The Democrats have had free reign for the entire time so I don’t know why this situation is a surprise to anyone. Conservatives have rarely been an offset to their excesses over the years. We’re in a flat spin to hard core socialism. Good luck to you and all of us.

.01 How the hell are “green” schools going to improve the quality of education?

Construction has been the hardest hit industry and occupation in this recession. In just the last
year, construction employment has plummeted by 1.3 million workers, from 9.3 million to 8.0
million while unemployment among construction workers far exceeds that in any other
    occupation.

.02 Sooooo… Are we talking documented or undocumented construction workers? I didn’t see any safegaurds for documented construction workers anywhere in this decorative piece of toilet paper.

Seriously, the “undocumented worker” is the salvation of the Social Security bust that’s coming. No one will admit to it, but that’s the basis for it.

With the make up of the House, Senate , White House coupled with traitors and cowards in the GOP we can not stop them at this junction-be can be obstructionist, make war within the Party against the RINOs and work on 2012. In the meantime

You are so lame as to be laughable. Yet, again, you show a complete lack of any sense of sophistication or depth of the subject.. This lack of sophistication shows in every word and assumption you make. To you, a personal attack is your only recourse. Please, stop making yourself seem so pathetic. As I said before, it is very sad to see.

But just for kicks, I’ll toss in a Friedman against your Krugman. That’s a Nobel -v- Nobel match.

And Krugman’s prize winning theory had absolutely nothing to do with stimulus spending. Friedman’s did.

Other than the couple of billion for the small business admin, I just dont see any actual stimulus in this. Out here in Cal, the education and healthcare components have already been spent, in advance, by the foolish democrats in the local legislation.

Within 6 months, expect to start hearing about yet another ‘stimulus’ cause this one has no chance of helping anyone.

I wonder how they concluded that this creates any jobs? All I can see are handouts for existing police/fireman/teacher/whatever unions. I see nothing to indicate any new jobs beyond the handfull of administrative posts. And the 250+ million I saw there was not going to go very far at all.

It was alsoamusing how they are pretending there are all these ‘green jobs’ being created, but at best, those would be several years out, IF even then.

They mention that they will not just be planting solar panels in the desert without it being proven to be financially viable, and since solar power simply is not financially viable, I just do not see it happening.

Is anyone thinking of how we are going to pay for all of these new workers once the economy recovers and then crashes on the next recession? The costs go will up but the hole we’re in is just going to get deeper.

We are going to be stuck, not only with bureaucratic ineptitude, but an entire generation or two of idiots that have been taught to be spoonfed by these liberal morons.

We may be the first empire in history, that wasnt destroyed by outside forces, but from its own internal stupidity (without even a civil war to blame). pathetic

Maybe it’s time to create a civil war (i.e., revolution) to see if we can take back our country from these idiotic, retarded morons. I’d be willing to bet that many soldiers in the military would be split, so we could actually have a well-trained group to back us up.

I know, I’m sounding like a crazy loon, but it is obvious that the other “civil” means of changing our government for the better are not working: voting for the right candidates, letters, phone calls, emails, and protests. Nothing is working outside of sheer physical force. A revolution sounds crazy and extreme, but I see no alternative that will work anymore. We are past the point of no return.

To steal a line from Mel Brooks’ “History of the World”, “beggars begging from beggars”. Creating gov’t jobs will relieve temporary short term employment problems. However, the gov’t, and all its employees, is funded through taxation on the private sector. So growing gov’t without growing the private sector over the longer term (a decade or so) will leave the gov’t coffers bare. Therefore, the gov’t must then tax its own employees even more to pay for those same employees payroll. Beggars begging from beggars!!! If a business could survive by being its own customer, we would all be rich.

There is nothing in this legislation that helps the majority of small business owners. Increasing capital expenditure write offs from 125k to 250K? Whoop de freakin do. That is not going to help businesses that have an ever shrinking customer base thanks to a very soft economy. My friends and associates who are small business owners and democrats are not even remotely impressed. Credit is tight, customers are slow to pay and the IRS is beating on their doors demanding their monthly tribute.

Maybe we all ought to just shrug.
