Maybe the airline or the manufacturer of the plane . . . I just can’t imagine how anyone could find fault with Captain Kick-A@@ Sully or his co-pilot or crew.

A few injuries, no fatalities, in a situation like this? That is nothing less than superhuman (with a little supernatural help thrown in, of course).

They won’t sue the crew. No money there. The lawyers will go after the company. They’ll find something and then, hope that they will settle out of court. That way, for filing papers, they get millions, and the plantiffs get very little. The latter will have dreams of money soon, encouraged by the lawyers, only to find out they were the ones screwed.

Jeff2161 in post #13 is already ahead of the curve. I saw two moronic talking head lawyers on Fox News discussing ways people could sue. One of them suggested an idea in that there wasn’t any covers over the engines. The bloodletting/scapegoating & screwing over for money has already started. Sully’s a hero today, but someone soon will make him a villian. He doesn’t deserve it, but it sure as hell will happen.

This is definitely a case where as everything went wrong – everything went right. Besides Sully’s skill and luck in making an extrodinary water landing, you have to credit the flight crew.
Also give credit to the first responders. If not for their speedy reaction, Sully’s landing might have been for naught.
I salute all who had a part in this event and kept it from being deadly.

We live in a world where superficial, bloviating, talentless poseurs monopolize the media spotlight. Every so often, a crisis arises that requires ordinray workaday Americans to reveal extraordinary depths of courage, skill and character. In a dark week to be highlighted (or lowlighted, maybe) by the media’s collective swoon over the inauguration of an undeserving, unaccomplished snake oil salesman, the heroism of Captain Sullenberger was a welcome reminder of what really makes this country great.
