Obama-fest open thread: What are you doing?

By Michelle Malkin  •  January 19, 2009 02:09 PM

For those of you who have chosen not to partake in the O-fest O-rgy, what are you doing instead?

Tuning in to the Jon and Kate plus 8 marathon? Keeping the TV off completely?

As I noted earlier, I’m diving into the Generational Theft Act of 2009 proposal, which I’m hauling to my daughter’s horse-riding and piano lessons this afternoon.

After Bread & Circuses, someone’s gotta be ready to clean up the crap.

Gird those loins, people.

My husband and I will be both working as usual. I have heard both my kids, ages 10 and 7, will be forced to watch the inauguration at school. Since this is the case, I will be picking them up at that time and bringing them home to play in our 10 foot snowbanks.

    Global warming, my ass!

It should be a fun day overall, and we will not give an ounce of attention to little hussein’s ceremonies.

Working as usual. The company will provide TV in the conference rooms so people can watch on their own time. Since I like to leave on time, I’ll pass.

As far as the festivities, it bothers me greatly to see a free people put so much faith into a single human being. This is getting way beyond the celebration of a routine transfer of power (the fact that it’s just routine being the reason for celebration).

I get the creeps watching the fawning performers and worshipful crowds – it feels like I’m watching something from Beijing or Pyongyang.

We talked a little shop about some of our troops returning to home station so I will be very busy tomorrow helping them input their travel voucher claims to turn off all of the pay and benefits they earned in the war zone before they go on their well earned R&R leave. I don’t want any of these kids to have pay issues because we don’t get their voucher done immediately upon return. One of the few things I can do to actively support this generation of heroes as the Squadron’s Resource Advisor. We will also be praying the Obamessiah doesn’t do anything stupid to get any of these kids killed due to inept policy decisions.

Tomorrow I’m going to the movies with a friend of similar political persuasion. We plan on seeing 3 movies. Expensive, but worth it!

Ever seen what an HE 25mm round does to a quail?

Side note, a cow standing still looks just like a bmp target through the bradleys ISU. Don’t ask.

Happy B’day Harbormaster, it’s mine too! Crappiest birthday present I can ever remember.

I’ll spend part of my day re-rigging my flag to fly upside down and promptly fly it at 12:01 EST and every day thereafter for the next 4 years.

Did you know that we share a b’day with that scumbag Bill Maher? Aaaack!

NOT watching anything related to Obama on TV as it would burn my retinas.

NOT reading about the Obamastic coronation, either.

Perhaps cleaning toilets to commemorate the day.

I’ll be busy getting a prostrate exam…and expect one everyday for the next four years as well.

I’m having a colonoscopy done, just to put me into the proper frame of mind for the next four years.

In my cubicle office at work, I have a TV set with cable. My day job is in public relations so I have to monitor the media on TV. I made sure to disconnect the cable from the back of the TV Friday before I left. I don’t want ANYBODY using my TV to watch the coronation while I’m out.

And on a different note, anybody else see how they’re calling Obama’s brand new Cadillac presidential limo “The Beast?” I wonder if that means the Cadillac emblem will be the mark of the beast mentioned in the Book of Revelations?

    Aaaaack indeed! Happy B-Day anyway.

Here’s hoping you’ll be able to turn that flag right-side-up after the next four years are over. Meanwhile, the far Left has assured us that we have a First Amendment right to do whatever we want with our flag, so have at it (just don’t tell them WHAT you’re protesting).

    :)
