Obama-fest open thread: What are you doing?
For those of you who have chosen not to partake in the O-fest O-rgy, what are you doing instead?
Tuning in to the Jon and Kate plus 8 marathon? Keeping the TV off completely?
As I noted earlier, I’m diving into the Generational Theft Act of 2009 proposal, which I’m hauling to my daughter’s horse-riding and piano lessons this afternoon.
After Bread & Circuses, someone’s gotta be ready to clean up the crap.
Gird those loins, people.

Cleaning the cat box!
I’ll be watching the “Best of the Beverly Hillbillies” episodes.
Keeping my air sickness bag close to me just in case.
Mocking some of my more liberal, Bush-deranged “friends”; their lives have been clouded in unending darkness for eight years, the poor dears.
I’m not sure if I want to watch the inauguration or not. One on hand, tradition. On the other, hurhruhghruhuahuruhguhrhh.
I have a job interview. Figured I’d get a better one while the getting’s good… it’s only going to get worse from here.
My husband and I will be both working as usual. I have heard both my kids, ages 10 and 7, will be forced to watch the inauguration at school. Since this is the case, I will be picking them up at that time and bringing them home to play in our 10 foot snowbanks.
Global warming, my ass!
It should be a fun day overall, and we will not give an ounce of attention to little hussein’s ceremonies.
My son told me that his school is planning to have everyone watch the inaugural extravaganza on TV all day tomorrow. I’m considering letting him stay home instead.
Gagging in anticipation of the next “idea” and “plan” of the Great Socialist.
I’m avoiding the TV. I’ll watch some old MST3K’s on youtube. I’ll post pictures of scantily clad women to my blog to ease the pain of my regulars. I’ll join the Buck Farack group on Facebook. I’m also interviewing for a new job.
Praying for a midterm Repub takeover of Congress.
I wish Obama the best, but I also want him to have a Republican (REAL Republican) House and Senate to contend with.
Is it true that the song to be performed at the coronation will be “O Come Let Us Adore Him”?
I have a dentist appointment lined up to have some work done that I’ve been putting off. Might as well do all the suffering at once.
A date with my treadmill and Oingo Boingo, followed by an orthodontic adjustment, supper, and some TiVo’d Doctor Who episodes.
Tomorrow, it’s back to the work-induced media-free bubble. Thank God for my employer.
I’ll be busy at work. I need to earn money so he can take it to give to people who don’t work.
Crying on the inside. I already had my farewell party for America on election night (and a few since).
Cartoon Network has a Powerpuff Girls marathon on today, celebrating the 10th anniversary of the show. I’m spending lots of quality time with my kids, enjoying monkey jokes and watching bad guys get beat up.
The Obama National Anthem

Great group – Danny Elfman!
Okay, that is what I am going to do!
I’m going to be working on blankets for soldier’s angels today and playing with the kids – too much good stuff in life to worry about the excessive stupidity in D.C., at least for a couple of days anyway.
Working as usual. The company will provide TV in the conference rooms so people can watch on their own time. Since I like to leave on time, I’ll pass.
As far as the festivities, it bothers me greatly to see a free people put so much faith into a single human being. This is getting way beyond the celebration of a routine transfer of power (the fact that it’s just routine being the reason for celebration).
I get the creeps watching the fawning performers and worshipful crowds – it feels like I’m watching something from Beijing or Pyongyang.
I’ll be attending my first classes back for the beginning of the new semester. The business school didn’t cancel classes on election day, and they certainly won’t for the inauguration. So I’ll be distracted for the whole day.
I might YouTube it later just to see it. I’m not going out of my way to be glued to the TV.
Puking my guts up and cleaning my guns between dry heaves.
I’m gonna send out my hope vibes to all you here!
Catch the hopey fever!
I think I’ll give myself that root canal I’ve been postponing for sometime now.
I LOVE Jon & Kate Plus 8!!!!
I’ll be working while I still have a job. Keeping my TV off for about another week.

I’ll take the “hope vibes”. As for the “fever” . . . that’s the reason I keep Tylenol handy!
The weather’s supposed to be nice (mid 60s) so I’m fixin’ to take my old ’67 Mustang out for a spin. Might stop by the range and plink at a few targets with my .45, then grab a six pack on the way home and catch CSI.
I made my husband promise to shoot me if that happens.
HEH! Send me the zombie dust. As soon as I become a walking dead person, I will take you up on the offer.
Working to pay taxes to support all of the hopey changey lemmings about to be laid off due to obama.
Tomorrow is my birthday.
I’m sure as h**l not going to watch a usurper take the oath od office as POTUS. I feel like it would make me complicit in the act. A traitor.
TV off. Play with my kids. Sounds much more better.
I think in honor of BO I will go register for my concealed carry permit.
If I’m forced to watch that Obamanation I might just have to do what this guy did.
My job.
I had that bug already. Thats why I spent this weekend sneezing and throwing up.
Well, to celebrate MLK day here, I got my cat a little cat dope. Catnip.
Tomorrow, I plan on going to see Clint Eastwood’s new movie “Gran Torino”, where he kicks butt on gangs. At least SOMETHING that occurs tomorrow will make me feel good. That and cleaning the cat box. Lots of that going around, according to the posts here. Cigar?
I’ll be busy getting a prostrate exam…and expect one everyday for the next four years as well.

Happy B-Day!
Playing with your kids does sound “much more better”. Let them all spoil you.
I would like to go to the pistol range and exercise my Second amendment right while I still can but the range is always closed Monday and Tuesday. Maybe some TV marathon instead.
I’ve imposed a news whiteout in my hizzle.
Saying blackout, I’m certain, would be considered racist.
I’m laying down my own thug thizzle. You know what I’m saying?
Word.
picking up my new HK USP 45 ACP tomorrow – Happy Emaculation Day!
And they are giving caroline kennedy hillarys seat. This is the year for the clueless to take power I guess.
My children’s school is having a watch party as well. The ironic thing is that it’s a private christian school and our church who runs it has came out and said everything possible without flat out and saying “don’t vote for Obama.” And now, THIS… Something about submitting to authority and all…arrrgh!
Anyhoo, instead of subjecting my children to that I will be picking them up and taking them out for an extended lunch.
Yo dog.
I’m going to go see that new 3-D horror movie, because even a bad movie is better than a bad president.
If it arrive on time, I’ll be watching season one of Battlestar Galactica. Frak the inaguration!
My favorite treadmill band, especially the older stuff before Elfman went soft (which I guess everyone does when they get older). Foo Fighters is a great jogging band, too.
I’m working on a screenplay and a graphic novel today.
Now now, sonofdy…we can do this the easy way and you voluntarily bask in the hoe-filled sunlight that is the Inauguration.
Or we can do this the hard way, which involves siccing Bono on you, strapping you to a chair with your eyelids pried open while hopey images are flashed before your eyes.
Chaffepowder, that will only happen if we somehow drastically lose IQ points. Most of us at HA don’t fall as easily for cultist propaganda as libs do.
So save it and keep your hopey dopey vibes to yourself.
Work, followed by some more AD&D where the good guys can win one for a change.
Oh yes, and some more transferring videotape to DVD.
I’ll be watching “It Happened One Night” with the conservative republican movie stars Clark Gable and Claudette Colbert. As well as Some Ronald Reagan and Gary Cooper movies. Once upon a time when Hollyweird was Hollywood and stars had common sense and brains.
Maybe for laughs some Jack Benny and Bob Hope and Bing Crosby films, “My Favorite Brunette” comes to mind.
Which brings me back to my desire for an M242 bushmaster.
Hmmmpp…SOMEONES being a Negative Nan and not a Harriet Hopey…
Working. Like any other day…

I can picture running with “Dead Man’s Party” playing in the background (kinda morbid, I know, but I have a bit – just a bit, mind you – of a Gothy side to me.)
“Hope vibes” sounds like a setting on Andrew Sullivan’s … um… you know.
Hah! You think mortal weapons can harm Bono?
How quaint.
Today I am performing weapons check on my long guns and watching the Ken Burns mini-series The War while my wife is slaving away at the local Wal-Mart. Took her to lunch a little while ago and ran into our Squadron’s First Sergeant and his family. We talked a little shop about some of our troops returning to home station so I will be very busy tomorrow helping them input their travel voucher claims to turn off all of the pay and benefits they earned in the war zone before they go on their well earned R&R leave. I don’t want any of these kids to have pay issues because we don’t get their voucher done immediately upon return. One of the few things I can do to actively support this generation of heroes as the Squadron’s Resource Advisor. We will also be praying the Obamessiah doesn’t do anything stupid to get any of these kids killed due to inept policy decisions.
ΜΟΛΩΝ ΛΑΒE (mo-lone lah-veh) Translation: Come and take them!
Good boy! Paying off your debts.
The national public debt is ca. $10.6 trillion.
The population of the United States is ca. 305 million.
So your share of this debt is $34,800.
I’ll be at work and won’t be able to watch TV or listen to the radio. I suppose that makes me a racist.
Tonight I’m watching “Momma’s Boys” series finale. OMG…that show is funny. Tomorrow I’ll be at work and tomorrow night I’m watching “The Biggest Loser”.
Avoiding any media save MM, HotAir and Rush (though when he jips, I’ll have to cross that bridge when I come to it), flying my flag at half-mast and wish furiously for B. Hussein to fail spectacularly.
Frankly I’m thinking a lot of us will be fighting off race riots.
Thata all BO, before obama. A month from now you will need to add 1 trillion to that. Who knows what it will be this time next year.
I’ll be working so that I can pay my mortgage and other bills.
I’m such a chump.
“Private Life”, “Nothing to Fear”, “Grey Matter”, “Capitalism”, “Not My Slave”… there is a wealth of great blood-pumping stuff there.
Everyone should listen to “Capitalism” at least once.
I’ll be checking to see if the water has been turned to wine, the blind can see, the lame can walk, etc. Typical things you look for when a savior appears.
Image: Chap waking up one day saying to himself, “What the hel_ was I thinking. I should have listened to Soap.”
While all of my colleagues will be in the conference room collective orgasming while watching the inauguration, I will be at my desk, earning my money.
I’m listening to your employee’s radio show. We do need to get you on again.
Working
Then, watch my collector edition of Victory at Sea. I used to watch that with my Dad.
Oh well, I guess I put a date stamp on my old butt.
You’re going to watch Katie Couric’s inaguration love fest?
Well, I’m finally taking down the last of the Christmas decorations and putting them out in the shed until next year.
I’m NOT going to be watching the verbal fellatio being showered onto The Messiah. You’d think we were going to crown an Emperor tomorrow.
I will listen to Rush! No t.v. concerts for me.

edelweiss is actualy right for once, we will all be working to pay off obamas bills.
Chap got it right for once. I am soo proud of you. You’re coming out of the closet!
Now if we just get you an honest job!
No need, dick cheney just opened lawyer season!!!
No need, dick cheney just opened lawyer season!!!
12:00-3:00 Rush Limbaugh
3:00-5:00 Sean Hannity
5:00-6:00 Glenn Beck
6:00-8:00 Mark Levin
8:00-9:00 24
This is/will be my background noise while replacing a GFI in my kitchen, doing laundry, hemming pants, making dinner, paying bills, and later working on my business plan.
Tomorrow I’m going to the movies with a friend of similar political persuasion. We plan on seeing 3 movies. Expensive, but worth it!
***vomit***
just witnessed co-workers have an obamagasm as they feverishly googled the websites in order to make sure they could come up w/proper volunteer projects by end of day today in order to serve the president-elect…
I’ll just dress up as a quail. He’ll never hit me then.
Good lemmings.
Ever seen what an HE 25mm round does to a quail?
Side note, a cow standing still looks just like a bmp target through the bradleys ISU. Don’t ask.
Waiting to see what Michelle-O decides to wear!
What will I be doing?
Drinking heavily!
What else?!
Definitely keeping the TV off completely. I refuse to celebrate the inauguration of a marxist to the office of POTUS.
I’m going to drown my sorrows and lament the age of the O-morons.
Happy B’day Harbormaster, it’s mine too! Crappiest birthday present I can ever remember.
I’ll spend part of my day re-rigging my flag to fly upside down and promptly fly it at 12:01 EST and every day thereafter for the next 4 years.
Did you know that we share a b’day with that scumbag Bill Maher? Aaaack!
when I was asked what I’m doing for my country I said I’m working to earn $$$ for our economy…
Meanwhile, can’t wait to see Sarah Palin w/Glenn Beck tonight!!!
NOT watching anything related to Obama on TV as it would burn my retinas.
NOT reading about the Obamastic coronation, either.
Perhaps cleaning toilets to commemorate the day.
I’m having a colonoscopy done, just to put me into the proper frame of mind for the next four years.
In my cubicle office at work, I have a TV set with cable. My day job is in public relations so I have to monitor the media on TV. I made sure to disconnect the cable from the back of the TV Friday before I left. I don’t want ANYBODY using my TV to watch the coronation while I’m out.
And on a different note, anybody else see how they’re calling Obama’s brand new Cadillac presidential limo “The Beast?” I wonder if that means the Cadillac emblem will be the mark of the beast mentioned in the Book of Revelations?
The cost of this “party” could have paid off 1000 houses like mine.

Aaaaack indeed! Happy B-Day anyway.
Here’s hoping you’ll be able to turn that flag right-side-up after the next four years are over. Meanwhile, the far Left has assured us that we have a First Amendment right to do whatever we want with our flag, so have at it (just don’t tell them WHAT you’re protesting).
Off-Topic: New York Slimes to be Rescued by Mexican “Robber-Baron?”
Since I’m one of those people who pays their bills on time and lives within their means, I’ll be working. The only thing the Chosen One wants from me is more tax dollars to pay for his giveaways.

Sounds like a much better way to spend the evening to me, too.
I’ll be letting the air out of chapoutier’s tires.
