For those of you who have chosen not to partake in the O-fest O-rgy, what are you doing instead?
Tuning in to the Jon and Kate plus 8 marathon? Keeping the TV off completely?
As I noted earlier, I’m diving into the Generational Theft Act of 2009 proposal, which I’m hauling to my daughter’s horse-riding and piano lessons this afternoon.
After Bread & Circuses, someone’s gotta be ready to clean up the crap.

I will be cutting firewood, hauling water and scouting the river for more good trees to cut. I used to question my sanity for living alone in the Alaskan wilderness 9 months of the year but not anymore. I feel safe with my guns, bible, and the great outdoors. The satellite TV and internet are great to have but Tuesday I won’t be using either very much.
I think Bono singing “In the Name of Love” is what did it for me.
Celebrate? Hell yeah. We can be happy.
But we really don’t have to make this into a huge cathartic celebrity studded event.
Reading a thick book and wishing for a surprise “Blizzard of the Century” to hit D.C.

Now, watchign 24. Tomorrow, I don’t plan on watching much TV except channels that will be void(thinking TBS at nignt) of The One.
Other than that I will be reading, working on some projects or talking with friends.
I’m tired of seeing his face, hearing his voice. I was watching Faox and Friends this morning and all it was was O this O that. I changed the channel to Discover to watch a guy eat a scorpion and then a commercial came on for USAservice.org sponsored by “the One”. Good God I can’t get away from this guy. I feel like crawling in a cave and sleeping till all this GLOBAL WARMING melts and his honeymoon is over.
I’ll be working the 10 to 6 shift at my hockey supply shop, secure in the knowledge that (i) the NHL network will be on the tube all day, and (ii) none of my co-workers – including the few part time high school kids we employ – are Obama fans. Just get this orgy of excess over with already, and allow the sane among us to resume our lives. 01-20-2013.
I’ve watched a bit of it today. Obama wasn’t my choice, and I share all the concerns as others here at MM, but he is our President and this IS an historic moment, akin to the first moon-walk by Neil Armstrong. Except that the stakes are far greater on this American milestone.
May our fears be in vain and may our country begin to recover from its present pains and difficulties. Now let’s get busy.

I’m going to spend the day avoiding the lovefest and contacting the Missouri Republican party and tellng them I am changing my party affiliation from republican to Libertarian. I held my nose and voted for McCain.

cultsupporters, I have a job that earns just enough to pay my bills. My workplace doesn’t have access to a TV, thank God. And then I have some DVDs I’ll be watching after work. And then I pray that I’ll still have enough to pay my bills once the Crap Sandwich hits the fan.Well, like many of the posters here, I’ll be working to pay off my portion of the crap sandwich. Unfortunately, we are an office that is open to the public with a television in the lobby, so I’m sure the inaugural love fest will be on….Unless I can get to the remote control, change the channel to ESPN and remove the batteries….
After work my daughter has basketball practice and I’ll be studying….

It is historic because The Anointed One is the least-qualified person ever to be elected President, by a significant margin.
It’s historic because never has the MSM been so incurious about hundreds of untied threads in a personal story, threads which could easily lead to many criminal activities and Pulitzer prize-winning reporting.
It’s historic because we have now entrusted the financial system of the most important country in the world to a person who has never even run a Burger King, who has in fact never held a job for more than three years, and rarely showed up on time (or at all) for the job he held previous to this one.

I will definitely not be watching the nauseating festivities, however, I’ll have to listen to my journalism professor drone on and on about the HOPE and CHANGE with this “historic event.” Oh brother. Then, of course, I’ll tune in to Jon and Kate Plus 8!
I figure the best thing to do is read so i have started rereading War and Peace. It’s going to be a long 4 years.
OK I get it. It’s historic because a hack politician from Illinois who has no resume whatsoever has become the POTUS. It can’t be because he is black because he is half white! What if he was to say he is white? The blacks would go nuts! And who cares what race he is anyway? Why should that matter? Otherwise he is just a man who was elected president–why should that be any different than any other person elected to that office?

off subject, sorta, curious, you “Jon and Kate…” fans, am I the only one that thinks Kate is a bit of a spoiled, selfish, whiney, little, brat? Jon has the patience of a saint I tell ya…I have to change the station after a few minutes of her correcting Jon or whining about what it was he did wrong. Must go in one ear and out the other for Jon, keeps ‘em together, so far.
Kate is a whiner…Maddie looks like her dad, but acts like her mom. Cara and Aidan are my favorites.
As for Jon, it’s weird that most of his special time with the kids involves him doing something for himself without much interaction with the kids–the gym workouts, the golf course. But parents do need some time for themselves and he does put up with a lot from Kate.
I’ll be going to work wearing black. I know all the TV’s in my patient’s room will have the Obama Indoctrination on. In fact, I may even become too ill to go to work.
I feel for ya goodforlaughs.. I am lucky, I can totally miss the whole Obamnagration with no Obamamaniacs here…Be strong! America will return after this fiasco!

Wondering just when the MSM will stop the racism and how long it will take to learn about the character of our new president. Also listening to the multitude of interviews of people who judged Obama on his Race rather than his character. Hoping against any possible hope for an end to the flagerant corruption in our government. Perhaps our new president will show his character by putting an end to the corruption and excessive overspending by the government. Alas, I think hope is all we have, as I don’t think we will see that kind of character. What we will see is in the future and still unknown. After seeing what the Brit’s are doing with their banks, it may be a very scary future indeed.
I’m leaving the TV off, and in about a minute or two, I’m going to unplug my internet too. I really don’t want to feel pissed off today.

The Fountainhead is on TCM today. Lots of books leaning right bought from Barnes and Noble cheap book sale.Rescued two toy poodles from euthenasia last week so they need socializing.Granddaughter here for the long day. Lots to do to ignore this farce.

I’ll go one further and say that they are whoring out their kids for money. Yeah, I said it. Kate is a control freak shrew who is damaging those kids, IMO. Just look at how Maddy acts, for example, and see what I mean. I think the kid is frustrated at her situation- she can’t have a normal life with cameras in her face at every bad moment. I honestly feel for all of those kids. No privacy, nothing is sacred to their parents.
Jon is a patsy for allowing her to talk to him and others the way she does. I wonder what will happen when the kids aren’t cute anymore. No show, no way to pay for the million dollar house they just moved in to. He might actually have to go back and get a real job instead of treating his kids like a gravy train. It’s appalling, really.
BTW, they aren’t raising those kids all alone. They have a LOT of help, and while I don’t have a problem with the help, I do have an issue with them pretending they do it all by themselves. It’s a lie.
I am also down in Disney World. I brought my 85 year old mom down here to escape the 97 inches of global warming we have experienced in Michigan so far this winter. It is 1 degree back home today.
I am escaping this obamorgasm by attending a time share presentation this afternoon to get some free Disney dollars HAHA.
Thank goodness my cousin is here helping us out (I still have to work while I am here, I too have to help pay for the stimupalooza), and my cousin is also a conservative. Surprisingly since she is a retired teacher. She thinks too much time is spent on non core stuff and that is why kids don’t get educated these days. She thinks everyone needs to send their kids to a Christian private school.
Meanwhile, my very liberal mom, retired school teacher, pro choice, pro big government just asked me if it was true Caroline Kennedy said You Know a lot of times in a recent interview. She gets all of her news from the main stream press. Apparently my cousin told her about Caroline’s embarrassing interviews yesterday. I told my mom I hope she gets appointed because I think the good folks of New York won’t re-elect her and that seat can go to a Republican. We can hope, can’t we?
Well, I have a job interview and then I’m going to hang out with my 11 year old that I kept out of public school today, in protest of the barry hussein celebration they were having. *sigh* I wish I had the talent and money to homeschool.
Nothing different from usual really. I don’t watch TV as it is – the only reasons we have one are to play video games and watch DVDs.
Besides, I work ’til 5:00. I’ll probably read online tomorrow what Rush had to say about the Obamafest, though.

I listened to a tad of the inauguration on Rush Limbaugh. Being at work, I’m not glued to my headphones, but have gotten enough of the gist of the ceremony so that I can say I was “there” but without vomiting. However, I’m still trying to stop the bleeding from my ears from listening to that pseudo-poet’s sophomoric poem. Gads, my kids could write that unfocused, non-metered drivel when they were in 5th grade. A Hallmark card has more substance and artistry. Bleh.
The wife and I went to see Valkyrie. We drove there and back with the radio off. We were the only two in the theater. What a nice peaceful day. And I still love America!
I’m busy at work writing code to keep my company afloat.

I do not have cable television anymore,so I’ve seen NOTHING of it, since there is nothing to see. And, I’m not MISSING anything.
Left early this AM for the VA hospital to get a bridge put in. 2 hours there, 3 hours in the chair, 2 hours back. At the moment I am sipping some 15 year old single malt and trying to forget about about BLACK TUESDAY. The death of the American dream.
