		<description>Here&#039;s my thiking. Since the world has gone off the gold standard in the 1970&#039;s I really don&#039;t think the Gov. knows how much money is really in circulation or if by some chance they do know, I would think they would lie to us. Since the 700bil. is non-transparent who knows really how much money has gone out the window. Who is responsible for keeping tabs on it? Would they be capable of cooking the books? How many different books have been cooked that they (the Gov.) know what&#039;s going on. My thinking has been that I have been spending and making funny money since the world has gone off the gold standard. 
Print another billion, no one will know. /sar.</description>

		<description>After again reading the enumerated powers in Article 1, Section 8 of the U.S. Constitution, I have to wonder, how are any of the following lawful:
the Environmental Protection Agency, the Department of Education, the Department of Agriculture, the Department of Housing and Urban Development, the Social Security Administration...? I could go on. 
Here&#039;s my favorite from this bill:
&lt;blockquote&gt;$1,000,000,000 shall be for expenses necessary for the manufacturing of advanced batteries.&lt;/blockquote&gt; I seem to have missed the part dealing with batteries in the Constitution. Although Reagan expanded the military, the cause of the deficit was a failure by &lt;em&gt;Congress&lt;/em&gt; to restrain other spending.  The tax cuts had nothing to do with the deficits - revenues doubled during Reagan&#039;s presidency, but spending went up faster.  In any event, spending, even deficit spending, on the military is a legitimate government action - such as WWII, or Reagan rebuilding the military after the Carter debacle.  Spending to bail out failed businesses, even businesses that fail due to government policies (as with the auto and mortgage industries), is &lt;em&gt;not&lt;/em&gt; a legitimate role of constitutional government.  It&#039;s mostly wasted anyway, because the companies will not be able to survive given the current circumstances, none of which was improved by the bailout.  They will only be able to survive and prosper if Congress repeals the CRA (for mortgage companies) and eliminates CAFE mandates and stops funneling money to the car companies so they can declare bankrupcy and rid themselves of the union contracts that are breaking them.  In any event, it&#039;s going to be a long time working through this mess, and no amount of government &quot;stimulus&quot; is going to help, unless they repeal Sarbanes-Oxley and pass capital gains and business tax cuts.  That is the only sort of stimulus that really works.  

You claimed earlier that Americans want to use their money for bailouts.  That is untrue.  According to the only poll I&#039;ve seen on the subject, 70% oppose the bailouts.</description>
