Best color commentary about Bill Clinton

By Michelle Malkin  •  January 20, 2009 11:20 AM

Amid all the dreary, colorless cliches clogging inauguration coverage, Brit Hume elicits a triple-snort from me:

Hillary and Bill Clinton came into view.

Hume: “Bill Clinton always looks like a man searching for the proper expression to put on his face. It’s always been this way as long as I have covered him.”

Lip bite? Feigned solemnity? Slight impish grin? What to do? What to do?

Perhaps the only good thing about an Obama presidency: Hillary will never be President and Bill will never again have influence in the WH.

Wasn’t that in the South Carolina primary? ;-)

That “color commentary” certainly didn’t help his aspirations of returning to the White House.

I take solace in the fact that Clinton lives in a perpetual hell knowing that he had achieved his lifelong dream and blew it rather badly. You’ve seen what how that realization has embittered Carter but it will completely ravage Clinton as time goes on. Carter, at least, has some personal dignity which regulates and tempers his behavior but Clinton doesn’t have those governors on his worst instincts.

Yes, but Bill received the honor of being snubbed by Jimmy Carter.

Clinton is a self-serving lightweight, but the loathsome anti-semite Carter is positively evil. Thanks, Jimmy, for the Islamic terror state of Iran, for the thousands of dead because you didn’t keep your oath of office.

George W Bush got almost nothing right except the tax cuts and terrorism which makes him infinitely better than Carter. Enough Carter, history will judge him.

I wonder if video is still available of the time when Brit Hume asked him about why it took so long to nominate Ruth Bader Ginsburg to the SC. Clinton went absolutely nuts, wagging his finger, face reddening, voice cracking with rage, body heaving. It was full body delirium, with robotic Al Gore next to him with his “lockbox” gaze. Gosh that was funny as all heck. Sad that it is probably lost to history.
