A few questions about President Obama’s first airstrike

“Missiles fired from suspected US drones killed at least 15 people inside Pakistan today, the first such strikes since Barack Obama became president and a clear sign that the controversial military policy begun by George W Bush has not changed.
Security officials said the strikes, which saw up to five missiles slam into houses in separate villages, killed seven “foreigners” – a term that usually means al-Qaeda – but locals also said that three children lost their lives. ”
Reader John has a few questions: “Where are the anti-war liberals? Where are the baby-killer signs? Why [aren't] the major media networks showing pictures of dead children as a result of Pres. Obama’s air strike?”

It’s stupid to call troops stationed in an allied nation an “occupation”. It’s stupid to call an honest (and widespread) intelligence failure a “lie”. It’s stupid to call people who want to utterly subjugate others “freedom fighters” and it’s stupid to call someone who’s liberated fifty million people a “terrorist”.
But that didn’t stop the Left from doing it.
On just about anything involving the military or national security, stupidity is the Left’s defining characteristic.

Anyone who thinks there are ZERO American or NATO troops in Pakistan doing search-and-destroy work right now is fooling themselves, or also believed there was no bombing of the Cong in Laos in the 60s or 70s.
Personally, we WANT them on that wall. We NEED them on that wall. I think what we’re decrying here is the obvious double-standard when assessing the actions of a Bush-led action and an Obama-led action. They are the same thing, only the Commander-in-Chief has changed.
Maybe Coldplay’s “Viva la Vida” will apply to Obama (instead of its current obvious jab at Bush) in four years. He’s riding high now, but he could be sweeping streets in 2013.

Former President Bush emphasized many times that we are engaged in the “Long War on Terror” and that capturing (and killing Osama Bin Laden)was the top priority. I really don’t care how they go about wiping out terrorist cells, so I’m in agreement with Flyover Man, #55 & #30. However, I am unsure of Obumba’s agenda regarding his long term plan for fighting terrorism.
I question the timing……..

Sorry, but times have changed. This latest missile attacks in Pakistan was not against al-Qaeda terrorists. That classification no longer exists. The foreigners killed in the missile strikes were members of a criminal conspiracy.
Not unlike the mafia, this criminal consortium, is bent on eliminating anyone who interferes with their criminal enterprise.
Law abiding nations only have two option now. Either kill them to stop them, or arrest them, bring them to the USA and try them in a court of law. Ignorance of the law will now be an excuse.

When was the last time a president ordered air-strikes on his second day in office?
Was there solid intelligence justifying and necessitating this air-strike — and what are the odds of that on a Presidents second day — or is Obama out to prove something?

The criminal Obama has committed an act of terrorism. He and the rest of his cabalk should be brought before the Hague and tried for “Crimes Against Humanity”. he has invaded the air-space of a sovereign country, launched an illegal attack against innocent civilians and what appears to have been simple tourists, killing innocent children in the process.
He was not elected into the Presidency, but rather selected by the media, thus he is not MY President, but merely the Resident of the White house.
I, for one, cannot wait to see him and his hair-plugged co-hort “frog-marched” out of the White House and dragged before the World Court to answer for his crimes.
After all, Pakistan did not attack us on 9-11. They had nothing to do with that attack. They have nothing to do with Al Qaeda. This is drawing attention and troops, funding, and supplies away from the real fight in Afghanistan.

You know…like the silence that is deafening on a siuation such as this, whereas before, it would be a cacophony of BDS. While you say that you find it wrong for Obama as well, you are not on here with the same vigor against what Das Fuhrer has done versus the way you were with Bush.
Who says Obama even knew about the strike and, more importantly, will he allow them to continue? I doubt very, very much that each of the strikes require presidential approval. I do think he will end them as soon as he done with more of his abortion approving programs.
Actually I just read the details of that case and the Obama administration is NOT supporting illegal wiretaps. It is supporting the Bush Administration’s position on an ancillary (but important) issue (involving the protection of state secrets from statutory preemption) in the same case.
