So much for transparency

By Michelle Malkin  •  January 23, 2009 12:07 PM

Ken Shepherd at Newsbusters take a close look at the White House website’s press briefings section.

Surprise, surprise: There’s not much there there.

So much for transparency.

Meantime, I’m catching up after a few days of travel and just had a chance to watch the video Allahpundit posted yesterday of Obama’s visit with the WH press corps yesterday. I think there was something more noteworthy than the president’s brief flash of irkedness (is that a word? well, it is now) with the Politico reporter who asked him a substantive question. It was the photographer at the end of the video who shouts to his Dear Leader before reaching to shake his Blessed Hand:

“Mr. President, I just wanted to say that one more time, Mr. President.”

I want to know the name and affiliation of that drooling idiot.

Come out, come out, wherever you are.

Transparency? I think the first act of transparency should be for Obama to produce the vault copy of his birth certificate to show he’s a natural born citizen.

When one spends 10’s, possibly 100’s, of thousands of dollars to prevent the public from seeing his birth certifate – something average Americans do on a daily basis for passports and other items that require proof of citizenship – one has to wonder. Especially when all it would cost is $15.00 to produce the document and put all the rumors to rest.

It’s amazing to me that so many feel that this is just another “conspiracy” theory. When you act suspicious, people are going to be suspicious.

I disagree. Dear Leader, is both wise and forgiving. Minor infractions of protocol like this shall be overlooked for the time being. Also it is an opportunity to teach the masses to show compassion and understanding for their fellow citizens.

    Exactly.

Obama owes it to “We the People” to be a man of his word.

President Obama has committed to making his administration the most open and transparent in history, and WhiteHouse.gov will play a major role in delivering on that promise.

The most open and transparent in history? Really???

Mr. President, authorize the State of Hawaii to release your original birth certificate.

The inauguration may be done, but the quest for honesty, openness, transparency, and accountability, all in the quest to support and defend the Constitution of the United States, is most certainly not over.

And Mr. President, if you are later found to be other than a natural born citizen, and therefore unqualified to hold the office of President, please leave office as gracefully as President George Walker Bush just did.

Forthwith, white people will no longer be eligible to attend college. Instead higher education will focus on high school drop-outs (the educational equivalent of the long-term unemployed).
