Get this: King of Pork John Murtha, the 19-term Democratic congressman from western Pennsylvania, now wants to welcome a flood of Guantanamo Bay jihadis into his district. I don’t want to hear a single word of protestation from the constituents who put this money-grubbing, security-undermining fool back into office. As you vote, so shall you reap.
Murtha audaciously expressed his hope to house Gitmo detainees after President Barack Obama circulated his draft executive order to shut the facility down by the end of the year. “Sure, I’d take ‘em,” Murtha glibly retorted. “They’re no more dangerous in my district than in Guantanamo.” Murtha blustered that there was “no reason not to put ‘em in prisons in the United States and handle them the way they would handle any other prisoners.”
Before we unpack all that ignorant nonsense, let us pause to illuminate Murtha’s motives. He is driven neither by a warped sense of patriotic duty nor by misguided human rights compassion for al Qaeda’s footsoldiers. No, what fuels him is unabashed greed and a lifelong edifice complex. The money-grubbing Murtha, you see, just can’t wait to snatch up federal tax dollars to build a new maximum security prison for the Gitmo gang — no doubt with his name and face plastered all over it. Welcome to the John Murtha Jihadist Correctional Facility.
Forget about the increased risk Murtha would subject his district to by volunteering it as a highly visible terror target. Forget about the disgusting affront this pork grab poses to the families of those who died on United Flight 93 — which 9/11 terrorists crashed in Shanksville, Pa., represented by none other than Murtha at the time. There’s a shining prison on a hill to be built and Murtha will sell out his neighbors’ safety to make sure it’s built on his hill.
Murtha’s got logs to roll and wheels to grease. National security is an impediment, not an imperative. Would you expect anything less from the shameless politician caught on tape in the 1980s Abscam congressional bribery scandal mulling payoffs from FBI agents posing as Arab sheiks? (“How much money we talking about,” Murtha asked one of the bagmen.” “You know, we do business for a while, maybe I’ll be interested, maybe I won’t.”)
Murtha’s contempt for the people he serves should surprise no one. This is the man who called his own voters “rednecks” and who has refused to back down from his smears of the exonerated Marines who served in Haditha, Iraq as “cold-blooded” murderers. This is the man who denies that we are combating al Qaeda terrorists in Iraq. This is the man who lives in fantasy world where re-deploying American soldiers to Okinawa is a viable defense plan.
Murtha can’t see any reasons for keeping Gitmo detainees from flooding our regular prisons and preventing them from exploiting our civilian court system because he is willfully blind and stone-stupid. John Murtha, meet Lynne Stewart. She’s the disgraced jihad lawyer convicted last year of abetting her terrorist client and 1993 World Trade Center bombing/NY landmark bombing plot mastermind Omar Abdel-Rahman. Stewart helped smuggle coded messages of Islamic violence from the imprisoned sheik to outside followers in violation of an explicit pledge to abide by her client’s court-ordered isolation. While Rahman’s court-appointed translator conveyed the message during prison visits, Stewart made “covering noises” including shaking a water jar and tapping on the table. A draft fatwa was discovered in Stewart’s office; she also signaled Rahman’s wishes to his jihadi organization in an interview with Reuters news service. The publication of those comments ushered in a new wave of bombing attacks by Rahman’s previously dormant terror oufit. The left-wing radical Stewart remains unrepentant and clings to her belief that the 9/11 terrorist attacks were an “armed struggle.”
Now, imagine a traitorous bleeding-heart Lynne Stewart assigned to each and every one of the 250-odd Gitmo detainees. Imagine the risk of similar jailhouse collaborations to innocent men, women, and children at home and abroad. Imagine the three-ring, O.J.-like circuses these trials will cause in your backyards. It’s easy if you try.
Prosecuting suspected terrorists like petty thieves or drug dealers is fraught with peril. The Democrats have learned nothing from the failed law enforcement strategies of the feckless Clinton era. Confiscated Al Qaeda training manuals have revealed that recruits are instructed in how to manipulate the Western legal system if they are captured. As I’ve noted before, affording accused Al Qaeda operatives the Sixth Amendment right to a public trial threatens to compromise classified information necessary to prosecute future terrorist trials. Other rights guaranteed by the Sixth Amendment — the right to subpoena witnesses and compel them to testify, the right to an attorney — can interfere with interrogations of captured suspected Al Qaeda agents. And while the lives of those directly involved in say, a mob trial, might be endangered, the entire nation may be at risk when we allow suspected members of a terrorist network to engage in the discovery process and in privileged communications with attorney-abettors.
Who will be accountable when these prosecutions run amok? When convicted jihadis wreak bloody havoc from behind bars? And when Gitmo recidivists wage war anew once released? John Murtha doesn’t give a damn. Do you?

I can’t think of a better place for them except for maybe this idyllic spot on the southeast side of some island in the beautiful Caribbean Sea.
I’d only go along with this if Murtha would put the jihadist fanatics up at HIS house. All 250 of them. They can sleep on bunk beds.
Problem is, once they’re loose, they can travel to your town, or to an important financial center, travel hub, capitol city, etc.

I’m in his district. John McCain took our county by 29,000 MORE votes than George Bush ever got. How Murtha achieved his numbers is VERY suspicious.
In the past two elections serious opposition to Murtha HAS been attempted, but his stranglehold on the ballot boxes defies innocent speculation.
We care, I’m not sure any of the people supposedly representing us do, Dem or Rep. It’s a one party system, just two divisions under the same ownership. We The People are so screwed. We have given up the country our forebears fought and died to bequeath us.

Murtha’s power is the tip of the iceberg. As I’ve said many times, the Socialists have achieved total control of all our public institutions, including the courts and public schools. They now have all the control they need to retain power. Look at the reactions of the people at State when Hillary spoke to them. They were literally ecstatic. Compare that to the reaction to Bush’s appointees. All departments of the federal government are compromised. No wonder he could get nothing accomplished with them given the fact they were actually working to undermine his policies. How many Pulitzers will be awarded based on leaks during this administration? I bet on NONE. The natures of our public institutions and authority bases have fundamentally changed over the last fifty years to a hard-core secular socialist mindset. American patriots have a long row to hoe.

With Murtha’s greed, its not hard to follow his rationale. Get the federal money to build a maximum security prison. Then request additional Homeland Security funds for the required extra protection to counteract terrorist attempts to free their fellow jihadists, and the list goes on.
Murtha is a money man and will do whatever it takes to get the pork into his district.
With the insulting executive orders that BO is signing, I imagine he could go one further. Rather than the planned 9/11 memorial in western PA, set up a maximum jihadist prison in memory of the 9/11 victims and name it after Murtha – a true Patriot and defender of the American Way.
I just wonder how many American lives are about to be sacrificed on the altar of liberal smugness.

I heard this morning that GA Sen. Johnny Isaakson and another senator from ND are opening a commission to investigate the causes of and responsibilty for the sub-prime crisis. Liberal Battle Cry – Release the Terrorists! Prosecute Bush!
There’s a special place in Hell for people like Lynne Stewart. And John Murtha seems to want to vacation there.
i don’t like saying this for the obvious reason that it puts our troops in a position where they will not take prisoners.
Once the Obama/Murtha plan to close Gitmo and give each terrorist a full civilian trial goes into effect, the terrorists get far more “rights” than Michelle mentioned. They will also get a free jury consulting team and that jury consulting teams gets to spend millions of taxpayer funds to have surveys, polls, computer generated studies, etc. And then the terrorists get free “legal support” teams. The best law firms in the land are lined up waiting for the taxpayers to pay them for representing slimy terrorists who could not gain admittance to the country clubs that their lawyers retreat to on weekends. And than the terrorists are also allowed free “expert witnesses”. The phony baloney experts on every subject will charge a fortune for the right to bamboozle the jury. And then all it takes is one juror out of twelve and the terrorist is home free.
And let’s not forget that the terrorists wil have the full panoply of fourth amendment challenges to seizure of evidence, a full slate of hearing to challenge alleged confessions and the right to subpoena Condi Rice, Dick Cheney and probably Ed Meese as well. Heck, why not compel Dan Quayle to testify as well? What we will get is not trials of terrorists but trials of the US government and conservatism as well. Liberal federal judges will be on the side of terrorists, particularly the US Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit in NYC which always, always, supports terrorists over the US government.
I’m not sure who’s a bigger joke – Murtha or his voters.
We need to stop messing around here. Fine, if someone in their infinite wisdom wishes to bring these pathetic excuses for “holy warriors” to the states, then I know the perfect place: Ft. Wainwright, AK, right outside of the city North Pole, AK. With a balmy high of -3 tomorrow, I don’t think they’d try escaping. Even if they did, it’s not like they’d make it very far. The fine people of Alaska would take care of that problem I’m sure. (Something about bear and caribou hunting that prepares them for that task.) Also, it’d fulfil President Obama’s requirements for shutting down Gitmo, hence bringing the prisoners to the states. It’d increase the number of jobs in North Pole and keep the prisoners in a safe, secure environment. Anyone see any downsides to this plan?
Murtha’s pretty smart; once he gets the jihadis in his district, ACORN will register them and presto, more democrat votes.
Crazy Murtha and his dingbat constituents deserve whatever befalls them . . . just don’t let the terrorists or the residents of that warped congressional district escape form Pennsylvania.

With all the “free” legal services the terrorists will receive, it’s little wonder why the legal community is chomping at the bit to get those jihadists on American soil. They want to get their hands on some of those “stimulus” funds.

John Murtha is a traitor, coward, and crook. I only hope he lives long enough to be imprisoned for one of his crimes, or to have a one-on-one with his Al-Qaeda constituents. Just because he works for Al-Qaeda doesn’t mean they won’t cut his head off – they hate cowards and traitors even more than we do.
I have publicly stated that anyone who knowingly aids terrorists in any way which ultimately results in the same terrorists harming me or my family will, “regret it with extreme prejudice.” There is a price to be paid by those who would empower these death worshiping maniacs. I hope Lynne Stewart gets to meet one of the family member’s of those murdered by her actions so that before her death, she learn the difference between law and justice.

Lynne Stewart worked with al Qaeda terrorists for the same reason Russia runs interference, and even provides technical support and even anti-aircraft systems to Iran: despite having widely different ideologies, they have a common hated enemy. US.

THIS IS A GOOD REMINDER TO NEVER GET ON THE WRONG SIDE OF OUR MICHELLE.
Simple: every Democrat associated with Gitmo’s premature closing and subsequent release of these dehumanized monsters back on the streets.
The Obama administration is off to whiz-bang start at continuing President Bush’s record of keeping us safe! Why would they even think of closing Gitmo w/o first having a viable plan to deal effectively w/ the detainees already in place?
Are they that beholding to the Left, that they would place honoring an inane promise to close Gitmo above the American public’s safety?
Good to know we rate below the wishes of D-Kos and Media Matters w/ the Obama administration!

You seriously underestimate the enemy. You also underestimate how lucky and determined our security forces (Military, CIA, DHS, FBI, Local and State PD) have been in preventing the next attack. Prevented, in fact, with the very tools our current president, CIA director, and NSA want us to stop using.
If it does take a while, then I worry it will be HUGE. Now that we have replaced the rocks that our enemy used to hide under, I wonder how long it will take (weeks, maybe months) before the tactics we see in the Middle East, Israel, India, Indonesia, or even on the DC Beltway or outside CIA headquarters not that long ago become daily occurances here.
My recurring nightmare is that I am driving along in to one of our normal traffic jams…normal, until I realize there are guys walking down the highway shooting in to cars. I always wake up just before they get to my car…

Wow, I’m worried about you. I share your concern with Obama’s moves; I just pray he will think VERY CAREFULLY about what’s to be done with the detainees once out of Gitmo.
But your recurring nightmare . . . you may have been thinking about this too much. I don’t know if you believe in any kind of religion or the power of prayer, but if you do, may I suggest that you pray – HARD – for (yes) President Obama, for the conversion of the Jihadists (if anything can open their eyes and hearts and turn them away from the path they are headed down, it is the Divine Power), and for Divine protection for our country. The Divine Power doesn’t care what our President or our government does or does not do.
So we close a perfectly good facility so that we can pay for and build another one. Demo stupidity – check.

If we WERE to allow Jihadists to be brought into the United States and housed in a Maximum Security Prison, what better place for them than in a facility named after the King Of Pork? Can you imagine their reaction? “No…no…it is unclean! Please dirty American rats…do not do this…it is inhumane to put us in a place that is not halal! I-e-e-e-h-h-h!”
Proper naming of such a facility is paramount. Perhaps, “Porky’s Penthouse.” Or, “Pork Chop Towers.” “The Pig Sty?” “Pork Butt Estates?” And instead of the standard “call to prayers,” pre-recorded sounds of pigs squealing be played. Lunchtime could be announced with the call, “Sou-i-i-e-e!”
Of course, a real pig farm should surround the facility, thus assuring complete security. The resulting pig manure could be composted for their vegetable garden (ya know, for “rehab”), and the porky methane gas used for electricity generation.
This could be a real “Hell on Earth” reality for these guys. Naturally, this will never happen. The progressive liberals running the country will condemn this kind of proposal as insensitive to their religion, and the various Human Rights groups will complain that “everyone” deserves common decency, humane treatment, kindness and understanding, access to the seemingly bottomless U.S. coin purse, and naturally, a defined path to citizenship!
None. But then this is Urkel shutting down Gitmo, so none of what you said will ever happen.
I would like to see all these America-hating shysters who line up to defend the jihadis have to travel there and stay at less than 5 star accommodations, but it will never happen since the left would whine about it being so hard for them to have access to whatever they pull out of their azz in defense of their buddies.

On this, we might agree. Except in my version, the military eliminates the terrorist threat through overwhelming force. In short, I’m not so much concerned about “catching us some bad guys” as I am eliminating the threat of their existence completely.
Our proud and effective military is not a police force. Let’s stop pretending that they should be.
