Thank you Michelle! Your next task: give us a list of people willing to oppose these collectivist Republican traitors in the primaries. With links to their websites so we can make donations.
I heard Bond was out at a doctor’s appointment.
WTF?
OK, and Kennedy certainly has a valid medical excuse, but what about the other 2 AWOL Ds?
Out picking up “Turbo Tax” software.
Just updated. He missed his plane. Would have voted NO.
Wow, what do you know, Weeping George Voinovich voted for the tax fraud. The man is an embarassment to my state. I am quite glad he is retiring.
The downfall of the GOP is now complete. I don’t believe they will be able to save the party now after allowing this crook to get confirmed.
I’m surprised to see Richard Shelby voting yes and Arlen the Specter voting no. Kind of a reversal of roles.
I didn’t even have to look at the RINO list to know Voinovich was on it. I will not miss him when he’s gone.
Can we get Charles Manson to head the Department of Corrections?
The (admitted) Socialist, 3 Democrats and half of the Maine women’s RINO caucus voted nay.
Cornyn isn’t usually a RINO, not sure why he went along with the tax cheat.
Sen. Jim Inhofe quoting Novak’s Bear Stearns story source, “…we may have crossed the line with this one…”, that says it all. The socialist/abortionist are now in full control of our Federal Government. May God help us all.
South Carolina’s senators voted predictably, Graham for and DeMint against. I wish we could have gotten rid of Graham in the primaries this time. Now we’re stuck with him for six more years.
I already voted against Cornyn of Texas re elected him over the Democrat rival a retired military veteran. Go figure. I have not forgot the first bail out bill.
Sorry for going off topic, but this just hacks my ham. How could ANYBODY approve of this guy? Unbelievable!
I saw this recommendation in another blog earlier today and thought it was very apropos.
When you file your taxes declare only a small portion of your income and cite the “Geithner rule” as your authority. I know, that’s ridiculous . . . on the other hand so were these senate hearings.
Cheers.
They couldn’t actually stop it without a filibuster, and I’m not sure the Dems that voted Nay, which would have been enough to block a cloture vote, would have handed the Republicans this kind of victory.
Sad that some of the RINOs like Collins and McCain voted the correct way, and people who should have known better, like my senator, Cornyn, didn’t.
It all p*sses me off to no end, when a Dem Senate rejects Robert Bork for being conservative, and the fat DWI Killer slanders him as a racist who would bring back segregated lunch counters, and just a few years later the ACLU’s abortion rights chief sails easily through a Republican Senate.
I don’t think we have time to grow a third party from the ground up, we’d be Zimbabwe by the time a new conservative party could win elections, and we’d be a police state, but we need to purge the RINOs at primary time.
Noriega isn’t a retired vet, he is in the National Guard.
Cornyn isn’t usually like this. But a couple of things with the RSCC and now this, makes me nervous.
I emailed my two state Senators and thanked them for having the cojones to vote NO.
I sent the following to the ten.
>>>>>>>
I saw that you had voted YES to the Geithner.
Please, take your membership card in the Republican Party and tear it in half and mail it to the following address:
Republican National Committee
310 First Street
Washington DC 20003
Thank You
Just curious, Michelle — where do you get those JPEGs of the roll calls?
Oh, I almost forgot: screw you Orrin Hatch.
OT:
Karl Rove subpoenad by John Conyers!
The show trials of the counter-revolutionary lackeys has begun!
I just watched Geithner’s swearing-in ceremony speech…what a crock! His rhetoric certainly does not match the history of the last 20 years of “public service” that he just alluded to. Let’s see if he can redeem those who voted for him.
OT
Barack HUSSEIN Obama picks Saudi al Arabiyya channel for first TV interview.
Edit:
UAE/Dubai based al-Arabiyya TV…
^^
Sent that as a tip from Mrs. Mahmoud’s Comcast e-mail account…
dose this mean i dont have to pay my taxes?
Thanks for nothing Crap-o I guess he has consumed mass quantities of the Obamination flavored Kool-Aid. Our new Senator Risch (former Idaho Lt Gov) appears to understand the values of the average Idaho resident. I am sure we can count on Crap-o to have our backs should we make a bone headed sloppy mistake with our taxes like Geithner has.
ΜΟΛΩΝ ΛΑΒE (mo-lone lah-veh) Translation: Come and take them!
Gee, thanks, Barry for the Most Corrupt Administration Ever.
Sen. Bond was busy in Missouri trying to get a trade deal done with the Chinese. It went long and he missed the plane. I believe he knew how the vote was going.
At least they’re making it easy for us to know who to target in the upcoming primaries.
Well, the only good thing about having no Republican senators is that I don’t feel betrayed by votes. I’ll continue to be disappointed, but I won’t feel betrayed.
Holy cow! Arlen Specter the RINO voted NAY.
Ted Kennedy needs to resign his seat already.
Cornyn is a rubber stamp for the Democrats. He also brought up questions about Clinton and jumped right on the bandwagon voting for her. Hope we can find someone to run against him the next time.
I still think its a strategic pol move to let him sit. No excuses when BO fails on the economic front. No excuses.
Who says the cold war is over, or that we won it?
The Communists won a cold war battle today with the confirmation of Geithner.
They won’t stop until they have destroyed capitalism in this country.
Hadenough, I’ve had the same thought.

HEY! Crapo (R-ID)
Your going to be unemployed soon.
Do I get ditto on that Boomer?
Jim Inhofe is a hero. I plan to donate as much money as I can to initiatives supported by him.
Looks like we are entering a period of one party rule. The next target for the democrats will be the total control of the Supreme Court. I fear after that the nation will fall into a Zimbawee type dictatorship and the dictator blaming everything from an ingrown toenail to everything else on semi-liberal GWB.
Excellent – what are they giving us for Missouri? We can throw in Mass too for nothing.
Damn straight FamilyMan! I’d rather have a Democrat in his seat instead of backstabbing RINO.

There is always a recall election…and frankly, I think it’s about d@mn time to start seriously looking at that with some of these Republicans that can’t remember what party they belong to.
The time to start is actually now. I just read an article in which the RNC is looking to seat a Chairman. It was truly amazing to see these clueless idiots claiming there were polls showing so many wanted the GOP to “work together”, “bipartisan”, blah, blah, blah as a reason for wanting a “moderate” chairman rather than one more conservative.
Did Warner in VA switch parties? He might as well have switched; he’s one of the Gang of 14 thugs and votes Dem 95% of the time.
They must have been polling amongst themselves.
Not at all. The law always applies to the heathen masses. Clearly it is optional for some elitist snots depending on party affiliation.
And, of course, being the only person in the entire universe that can possibly do the job. I just thank Obama that we are fortunate to have him alive in our lifetime.
Good point. I think any taxpayer should immediately go to their Senator for assistance with avoiding even the most minor tax problems.
Amen to that Kevin, I’m in the same boat here in dark blue Orygun…both senators and my rep. are die hard democraps. Saves me the frustration of emailing my RINO that lost in Nov. as he campaigned on his ability to reach across the aisle…I couldn’t reach his name on my ballot.
You Oklahoman’s gotta be proud, Inhofe’s one good man…along with Corburn. Got room for an old conservative there in Ok? There are a few other good conservatives like Sessions. Shelby, that was a let down.
And what’s with Collins, she ill? And Sanders was he aware he was voting against the left? That has to be a 1st. the socialist pig…can I say that or is that racist, never mind he’s white.
So now we have a Secretary of the Treasury who is incapable of figuring out how to do his own taxes correctly, even with the assistance of TurboTax. Isn’t that great?
Michelle, I think you do a great service by posting the roll call votes on this (and other) issues. I was somewhat surprised and dismayed to see Senator Shelby among the Republican “Aye” votes. None of the others really surprised me. Senator Inhofe is an inspiration!
*Remember too that this new SoT started us on this bailout path to hell by orchestrating the original sin of a Bear Stearns bailout; We all are in the banking business because of him and it won’t turn out so well.
*My man Corker must either be unprincipled or bipolar; He does well in standing up to the Big 3 and Ron Middlefinger, then he is okay with putting a blatant tax cheat in to oversee the IRS.
I wanna be like Timmy Turbo, you think they will let me?
I can’t believe the further-left of my Senators had more sense than Cornyn.
These Senators think in terms of the game show Let’s Make a Deal.
It’s all a club game.
We need to let them know we had representing our values and standing on principle in mind when we sent them to Washington.
Since we are getting steamrolled by Obama’s Marxism anyways we might as well take the opportunity to throw out these fighters with glass fists and yellow backsides!
I hope you’re not a Virginia voter. But I’d be willing to bet a whole bunch of them were also confused. The Warner in question is Mark. He won the seat vacated by John, who retired.
I was disappointed with Cornyn and Shelby, but I was expecting it of Hatch and the RINOs.
ITookTheRedPill,
I should have expounded upon my statement. I believe that some of those who voted for Geithner did so for political strategy. That isn’t to say I agree with them – I do not. I commented in a hurry – 24 was coming on and I had to take out the garbage.
I will check out your links, as I often do.
Inhofe is a good man.
MY Senators are Fiendsteen and Boxer. They are an embarrassment to all of America.
I apologize to all of you dear readers on their behalf for so poorly representing the interests of not just Commiefornia but Amerikkka.
Michelle…BTW the “x” on the dead elephants eye is a nice touch!
There is also the truth that by giving Obama everyone he wants when the whole thing falls apart and gets very ugly Obama and the left can not offer the excuse that it went bad cause Obama didn’t get who he wanted. By giving him who he asked for and wants there is no built-in excuse when it all fails.
If only Michigan would annex Chicago… At least then Cook County wouldn’t be the only voice in Illinois.
Question: for Senators voting to confirm-
If 50% of the GDP is generated by non-farm small businesses with a significant amount of those paying self-employment taxes, what might happen if they all followed Mr. Geithners example for four years?
Annie Oakley, I think we might be from the same state and of the same mind. In that case, I commiserate with you over Ol’ Weepin’ George’s vote. At least he gave us two years to find a replacement.
This may be off topic, but I was curious, if I am never nominated for a public position, do I still have to pay taxes?
Bend Over Here It Comes Again. Gonna be a long winter.
Inhofe makes me proud, again.
But, I’m still worried about the Republican party. Will it require ANOTHER loss to bring them to their senses!?
Et Tu Brute?
Wow, Even Senator Robert Byrd voted against this guy!
Senator Patrick Leahy, the double standard chairman of the Senate Judiciary Committee voted yea, while our Independent Senator Bernie Sanders voted nea. It’s refreshing to know at least one of our senators has integrity.
They’ve got a book full of “…um….uh….umm….”?
Oops, wrong thread.
GOP=Whig
They have proven again and again that they do not represent the citizens.
GOP-RIP
Here in Oklahoma, we’re damn proud of Sen. Jim Inhofe.
Wyoming Senators Enzi & Barrasso both NOs.
Way to go guys.
Here in Mew Mexico we have twiddly dumb and twiddly dumber in the senate, so we know how they voted. Hell these two
clowns don’t even understand the First Amendmeny of the Constitution yet.
Oklahoma has two of the best senators in the country with Mr. Jim Inhofe and Mr. Tom Coburn.
We Tennesseans are embarrassed again by our RINO Junior Senator Bob Corker. The following is my message to Senator Corker, and yes I mean it. We will make certain that he does not represent the great state of Tennessee again.
Senator Corker,
I’ll start with a little more than just a prediction. You will not return to the Senate for a second term. I will begin the process now to unseat you. I will do all that I can over the next few years to be certain that you don’t represent Tennessee again, that’s not a threat, but it is a promise.
You really don’t understand the people that you represent and certainly don’t know what an effort the Conservative voters went to for you to fail us miserably in the Senate.
The voters that support your Democrat opponents will vote against you no matter what you do. Now you can be sure that we Conservatives will have another candidate when you come up for reelection.
Try not to embarrass a once fine Party any more than necessary during your tenure in the Senate.
Jim B
Lebanon, TN
My two senators are Bayh and Lugar and are practically interchangeable, so I’m a bit surprised Lugar voted against.
I’d love to get them both out of office, but I don’t remember any time they’ve ever had any real competition for their seats. They’ve been in so long, it’s like no one even bothers.
No use in my even looking. I know my two socialist democrat Senators voted in the affirmative.
That’s exactly waht I was thinking as I read through this thread, then came down to the end of the comments section to say so, only to find that Pauldow just beat me to it!
Hesus Christmas, does the rest of the US ever have an Idiot Electorate!
The Geithner confirmation is an excellent example of Dems “lowering the bar” and RINOS backing it all the way. If our Republican Senators can’t find a way to distinguish the basic differences between themselves and the Party of “it really doesn’t matter, crook or not” then our Senators have to go. We the voters must start NOW to replace the RINOS or give up our country to those that want to stay in power and rape the greatest country this world has ever seen.

I would say that if the Republicans can somehow derail this stimulus package you will be singing a different tune, but probably not… Just continue on with Michelle Malkintents spite war on the republican party that serves the purposes of the democrats.
Anyone that thinks that the Republicans are doing a good job in their role of vetting these outrageously flawed candidates is “stupid”!

So many of you, the hostess included have gotten it into your heads that the senators and congressmen are chosen in a back room at the RNC and if you just stop giving them money and support they will stop piking “RINO”s… (Which is a label that is now extending to people like Orrin Hatch!)
It doesn’t work that way. You have to nominate, run and most importantly ELECT candidates that share your supposed values. I say supposed because often now, “conservatives” are effectively helping to elect socialists so it is hard to know who is on what side anymore.
WHY didn’t Inhofe run for PRESIDENT last year? WHY?!?!?
If we had more MEN like him in the Senate, imagine what would and could get done……
