Now online: Searchable text version of Senate Generational Theft Act; House Dems’ package tops $1.1 trillion
Thanks to the Senate Conservatives Fund for posting a searchable version of the Senate stimulus bill Generational Theft Act.
It’s all here.

On the House side, the CBO confirms to the GOP that the Dems’ bill will top $1.1 trillion:
House Republican Leader John Boehner (R-OH) today issued the following statement on a letter from Congressional Budget Office (CBO) Director Douglas Elmendorf to Budget Committee Ranking Republican Paul Ryan (R-WI), in which he noted that the federal government’s interest costs related to the legislation would amount to $347 billion between 2009 and 2019, bringing the total of the congressional Democrats’ massive spending bill to more than $1.1 trillion:
“It’s official: the non-partisan Congressional Budget Office has confirmed that the congressional Democrats’ legislation is the trillion dollar spending bill that we all feared it would be. It would be irresponsible to pass this massive debt onto our children and grandchildren, and Republicans will continue fighting for their interests – and the interests of all taxpayers. President Obama began this process with the hope of producing a bipartisan plan to create jobs. What congressional Democrats have put on the table is a wasteful and unfocused package that will create plenty of government programs and projects – but not nearly enough new, good-paying jobs. The American people deserve better than the one trillion dollar spending bill that the House will vote on tomorrow, and Republicans will continue reaching out to President Obama to craft a plan that reduces wasteful spending and helps create jobs through fast-acting tax relief for middle-class families and small businesses.”
A GOP Hill staffer runs down what’s next:
*This evening, the Rules Committee will write a rule on amendments to TDSB. More than 200 amendments were submitted (link) to the committee, only a few will be approved.
*Tomorrow, the House will (if needed) conclude remaining general debate time; consider the rule on amendments; and then consider the amendments.
*We expect the rule to allow Republicans a vote on our alternative (link) we sent President Obama last week, and a Motion to Recommit.
*The House will go in at 10 AM tomorrow.
Don’t forget: ReadTheStimulus, which I first mentioned over a week ago, is the best resource on the House version of the Generational Theft Act of 2009. They’ve just posted handy new charts of the new CBO analysis. Check ‘em out. Pass ‘em around. Then call your congresscritters and tell them to vote NO.

Everything is in strike-thru mode… LOL!
strike this
Fixed.
This is a huge sucks-donut.
That huge sucking sound, ain’t coming from Mexico.
Page 18:
Well that’s certainly stimulating.
*I have seen some snippets and it is pure unadulterated socialist bovine scatology; It will pass in the House, but it would be nice to see the Republicans vote in unison against it to deny the Dems the cover they seek.
*If the Republicans leave their fingerprints on this fiasco, it will prove once again, that they are more interested in reaching out be be Democrat Lite than they are in the well being of future generations.
*Make that “to be”
The House GOP looks like they will hang tough. They can’t stop it, but at least they are standing against it, unlike the Vichy Senators.
Wake me when it gets to 1.6 trillion.
P.S. I get up at 6:00am Eastern.
I doubt it. As soon as they pork it up (which is why my bench mark is 1.6 trillion), they will belly up to the bar and celebrate. I still pick 100% dems and 60% repub’s. We should start a pool. Percent of repubs, ammount, date signed. Winner gets a cookie. Well, 10% after taxes.
Off-topic, but here’s an open question to MM and all users;
You claim to tolerate dissent, and you say that liberals do not and ban every “troll” on their blogs/sites.
If this is the case, why do blogs like HuffPo and Kos allow users to register for comments at any time, while this site only opens registration once in a blue moon, and for a short time when it is open?
Please don’t call me names; it’s just a question.
Since only $100M will have any short-term affect, let’s approve that and drop anchor and debate the remainder. There isn’t any real need to rush a vote on spending 2-5 years out. That is ridiculous!
Isn’t that what the “Greatest Deliberative Body in the World” should be doing? Isn’t that what they are paid to do? My 20 year old daughter is wondering why Congress is in such a hurry to make her a servant of the state for the rest of her life.
*What you talkin_bout talkin_bout?; The hostess with the mostess makes the rules, and we abide.
I know she does, and that’s why I addressed it to her. I only added her readers because I’ve read many comments on here making the point that I addressed.
We still have our pets that, for some reason, Michelle seems to allow on this blog. I am guessing comic relief or to satisfy some quota so people will not accuse her of fearing dissent or being intolerant.
It takes too long to weed out the problems (which may be the reason why I am still here).
All blogs are different. Michelle runs her ship pretty tight while still allowing for some heated debate. It is not perfect but it is one of the top blogs for a reason. She is not in this to increase numbers of posts may be why registration is closed for long periods of time. If she gets bored with us, she may kick us to the curb for a new batch. I am guessing she is not there – yet!
P.S. many of us have not survived liberal blogs for one day because of our dissenting opinions. I am sure if you ask for a show of hands when everybody is here, you will find many.
It is a good thing that it will take through 2013 to spend all of this pork – the big donors can’t hide the money in Swiss banks like they used to.
On-my-soap-box;
When Michelle opens registration, would someone who had an account have to make a new one, or would the old one still be valid?
And I understand your point; I have seen debate here without comments being removed. However, the difference is that on HuffPo, if you get banned, you can immediately re-register, but on here, a ban lasts until the next open registration.
Huff puff and KOS are nothing but lunatic fringe profanity-laced cesspools, and allowing sign-up anytime keeps it that way. If someone is banned, they simply turn around and sign up as someone else. If someone is banned here, they’ll have some time before they can sign up again and time to rethink their approach and if they come back, maybe they’ll not repeat the offensive behavior.
And personally, I don’t care what rules they have as they can do whatever they please, just as MM can.
MM isn’t preventing dissent, she’s found a good way to keep tabs on Trolls whose only purpose is to disrupt and provoke and take over her site through idiotic behavior.
MM makes her site very pleasant to be at. If you prefer the cesspools, that’s your perogative.
taklin,
If you have an account, you do not have to register. If you have been banned, Michelle goes to great lenghts to make sure you do not register as someone else. Why would she want someone back she has banned?
I will give Michelle credit, she lets a lot of things go. I would ban someone who insults her right off but she lets it slide. Rick, on the other hand, was quick to bash a troll. I miss Rick. LOL
You keep bringing up HuffPo. Why would Michelle want to do anything like HuffPo. I have been there and need a shower after most visits. The worst that can be said HERE is that after lgm makes his posts, he races over to HuffPO and says, “look, they are bashing dissent again”. No, we are bashing him. Chap has a dissenting opinion a lot of the time. At least he makes some very valuable points and does research (See here at #54 on)
I hope this helps (unlike the trillion $ debacle which we will be force fed).

A few things:
1. If theyre such profanity laced cesspools, then why would letting anyone sign up change that? I thought conservatives were righteous folks; wouldn’t they bring the profanity levels down?
2. You’ve set a double standard. You say Michelle isn’t preventing dissent, just a negative term for dissenters. When you say trolls only want to disrupt, you make it seem as if trolls on liberal sites do not do this, which is simply not true.
3. If Kos and HuffPo are simply “lunatic fringe cesspools”, wouldn’t their open policy help clean it up, as conservatives could come in and spread the good word?
Look, I’m not trying to criticize Michelle or undermine her; I’m trying to point out double standards, something that Mrs. Malkin and I share a common contempt for.
On-my-soap-box;
By “trillion dollar debacle”, I’m sure you mean the Iraq and Afghanistan wars?
This is a great tool. I used it over the last few days while putting together my letter to my Congressmen. Remember though that this has nothing to do with “stimulating” the economy. It has everything to do with gaining control of the economy, control of the government, control of the people. This is nothing more than a power grab. Create social programs, making everyone think they’re a victim, that you are the savior, hence creating a false sense of security within the population that is grounded in the leader who is controlling and stealing from them at the same time.
Talkin,
What? You mean our very presence at HuffPo would eliminate the problems?
Which the current POTUS supports.
Their open door policy never fixed the problem.
I really thought you were being sincere in your questions. I am done feeding you.
Surf back to HuffPo.
Soap-box;
I was being sincere, until Joy decided to turn it malicious. I wasn’t here to stir up anything.
Obama does not support the Iraq War. Also, I don’t remember when it was established that everything the President said represented my views.
Send_Me,
Bingo.
Have you ever give it a thought as to who the people are that ACTUALLY write that kind of stuff?
The “elected officials” don’t write that stuff. It is some snot-nosed kids that are still wet behind their ears. They have no special knowledge or technical skills or life experiences. They all probably went to some liberal college with a bunch of liberal professors who filled their brains with liberal $hit.
Scary isn’t it?
Send_Me,
Double ditto.
I would like them to grovel for a living like most of us have had to do. They would see life in a whole new perspective.
I invite you to go over to Kos and post some conservative comments. Then come back here and tell us how long you lasted before they banned you.
HuffP does not, or did not, allow open commenting. Every comnent had to be approved by a moderator before posting. Believe it or not, they don’t post a lot of conservative comments.
I hope you’re done thread jacking.
The people who get the money write it – the unions, special interests, lobbyists, etc.
This new bill is the equivalent of bending the American Taxpayers over the table and reaming them up hard from behind.
Really, it’s a kind of rape of the worst sort. Why are these politicians still in power? Where’s the outrage?
A trillion here, a trillion there, pretty soon it ads up to real money.
Never mind… just let them raise the taxes to pay for all this pork, and the future pork they will add in besides.
You do realize that now that they’ve set the bar higher without any significant opposition, the next time they are going to spend even more. In a couple of years you’ll be looking backwards fondly on the days when they only spent 1.1 trillion per bill.
You are all well and truly fu.. um.. stuffed.
Lookie what I found:
218M to measure things. Nice, nice…
1.2B for environmental research. Yep, good, good…
Now this is important people! If we’re going to spend a trillion dollars here it only makes sense to put .2% of it aside for oversight. Wouldn’t want to have any hanky-panky going on would we? This is serious business here.
Now where was I? Oh, stimulus. I’ll get back to you when I find anything with a remote chance of stimulating anything.
First off, this is what is pretty typical of what you bring to the blog… snarky, ignorant comments like this one. Would you care to say such a thing in front of military families?
In regards to Michelle’s rules, if you don’t like them you can always trot on over to places like Huff n’ Puff or Kos Kids to give ‘em the daily scoop about how the “neocons” were cruel to you.
Most of your posts are ignorant and this OT remark is no exception. I’d rather have a blog that strives for some “civility” rather than others that put down the military and military members like the two blogs I just mentioned. And you of course.
talkin_bout, we don’t mind dissent, just keep your posts on topic or stop posting.

Anyway, read this AM that Gore will be in congress pushing his global warming agenda. How long until carbon taxes are the main-funding point of the stimulus package or is that already built in?

Just kidding.
Sorry to have taken this thread way off-topic.
But don’t you dare call it a blackhole!
Well you guy is going to spend more than that in less than one month.
Just think, this bill along with the TARP II that is coming, will increase the national debt by 20% in less than 1 month.
But you will get free condoms out of it. yay free condoms!!!
