    Good advice for MM as well. Try writing to disguise her contempt for Democrats and more or less anyone she seriously disagrees with. Writing angry posts is fun, but it’s not very productive.

    Actually, lgm, MM does well on the productivity: she prompts lots of people to contact their representatives in Washington in support of mutually held positions. And it is hard not to have contempt for those whose main method of arguing is to call people names. (I do not mean anyone on these pages.)

    This is not an echo chamber: we have multiple philosophies. We’ve had some good discussions on these pages when we avoid cheap shots and name calling. I don’t know if any minds have been seriously altered, but we have better understanding of the other positions. I don’t necessarily like a number of the positions, but if I can see that there is a logical basis for it, I am satisfied. (Alas, not all threads and parts thereof can be called illuminating–we have some sadists who engage in getting a rise out of others from time to time–but from my limited exploration, we don’t do badly.)
