Where in the world
Sorry for the late notice. I’ll be on Neil Cavuto’s show on FNC in a few minutes to talk about Reich/Rangel and the color-coded stimulus earmarks. If you’re looking for the Reich/Rangel hearing clip, it’s here.
Pay attention to Eric Holder’s law firm and Gitmo detainees
A good friend writes: [A]s nearly 100 of the remaining detainees are Yemenis, reflecting that country’s refusal to assure security for repatriated Yemenis, note that AG nominee Eric Holder is a senior partner with Covington & Burling, a prestigious Washington, D.C. law firm, which represents 17 Yemenis currently held at Gitmo. From the C & [...]
A few questions about President Obama’s first airstrike
From the Times of London: “Missiles fired from suspected US drones killed at least 15 people inside Pakistan today, the first such strikes since Barack Obama became president and a clear sign that the controversial military policy begun by George W Bush has not changed. Security officials said the strikes, which saw up to five [...]
“How you can spend hundreds of millions of dollars on contraceptives – how does that stimulate the economy?”
So sayeth John Boehner at a press conference following his meeting at the White House on the Generational Theft Act of 2009. Transcript here.
So much for transparency
Ken Shepherd at Newsbusters take a close look at the White House website’s press briefings section. Surprise, surprise: There’s not much there there. So much for transparency. Meantime, I’m catching up after a few days of travel and just had a chance to watch the video Allahpundit posted yesterday of Obama’s visit with the WH [...]
Stop lying, Nancy
A GOP source reports on the Democrats’ attempts to make the Generational Theft Act of 2009 look like a “bipartisan” effort: Outside of the White House, Speaker Pelosi just claimed that Republican voices have been heard in discussion of the House Democrats’ trillion-dollar spending bill. That is simply not true. As an example, she cited [...]
Colorado Dem. Gov. Ritter: We’ll have some more jihadists, please!
Zacarias Moussaoui’s already at Supermax in Colorado. Democrat Gov. Bill Ritter wants to give him more company, via Ben DeGrow: Ritter’s acceptance stands in stark contrast to the reactions of leaders in several other states. Fellow Democratic Gov. Kathleen Sebelius of Kansas warned the Obama administration not to send prisoners to Fort Leavenworth in her [...]
The John Murtha Jihadi Correctional Facility
My syndicated column today smacks Jack Murtha upside his thick head. How would he like 250 Said Ali al Shihris roaming around Johnstown, Pa.? Very much, apparently. Looks like Pennsylvania will need that National Terrorist Registry — and quick. Meantime, here’s the latest on the FBI raid of Murtha’s earmark contractors at Kuchera. *** The [...]
Here’s your jihadi recidivism
This morning on Fox & Friends I talked about President Obama’s Gitmo closure plans and the perils of jihadi recidivism: As an exclamation point on my argument, read this: The emergence of a former Guantánamo Bay detainee as the deputy leader of Al Qaeda’s Yemeni branch has underscored the potential complications in carrying out the [...]
Senate Finance Committee Geithner vote 18-5: Meet your B.O. Republicans
Breakdown.
One Pennsylvanian’s response to John Murtha
I’ll have more to say about Murtha in my column tomorrow, but for now I’ll share what one Pa. voter suggested would be a fair trade: “We’ll take the detainees if Gitmo will take Murtha.”
March for Life 2009
Today is the March for Life 2009. Throngs of pro-life activists will flood Washington, D.C. You will barely hear about it in the MSM. Go here for more info.

Where in the world
I’m sticking around Fox for a second appearance this morning on the Newsroom show to talk about Jay-Z and Young Jeezy. Glad the story I posted about on Monday is getting some national exposure.
Robert Reich: Keep stimulus money away from skilled workers and “white male construction workers”
“…there are other people who have needs as well…”
Fare thee well, Queen Caroline; Update: Awkward! AP says she still wants in; Late late update: Spokesman confirms she’s out.

Geert Wilders to be prosecuted for criticizing Islam
It is, indeed, a “black day” for freedom of speech — and freedom of thought — as a Dutch court rules that parliamentarian and anti-jihadist filmmaker Geert Wilders should be put on trial for his criticism of Islam. Diana West calls on the West to defend him. Jim Hoft has much more. Where does the [...]
Shelby Steele: No, Obama’s victory is not a triumph for conservatism
Glad I’m not the only minority conservative who rejects the increasingly popular notion on the Right that Barack Obama’s ascension should be embraced as a moral victory for our side. The promise of post-racialism is a bogus one. Shelby Steele, one of the most articulate voices on race matters, weighs in in the WSJ: Barack [...]
Where in the world (Updated)
I’m on a plane to NYC to do the Glenn Beck Show on FNC later this afternoon. You can catch me sometime in the 5-6pm Eastern hour. Scheduled to talk about the Geithner nomination. Tomorrow, I’ll join the Fox&Friends gang in studio for my regular morning gig — probably sometime between 7:45am Eastern and 8:15am-ish [...]

Top 10 bad omens of the Geithner nomination
It looks increasingly like the GOP is going to ignore the bad signs and capitulate on Obama’s Treasury Secretary nominee. Tom Blumer lists the top 10 disturbing aspects of the Geithner nomination. Do not say, 6 months or a year from now, that you were not warned, GOP.

But who will block Geithner?
The Senate gave its approval to six Obama cabinet secretaries. Sen. John Cornyn is blocking Hillary Clinton. My question is: Will any GOP Senator stand up to failout bailout serial tax evader Tim Geithner, or will they all do the lemming dance now and whine about how nobody could see his shortcomings later?
