Daschle withdraws: DLTDHYOTWO!

By Michelle Malkin  •  February 3, 2009 12:51 PM

Tom The Dodger Daschle withdraws his HHS nomination. President Obama accepts the withdrawal “with sadness and regret.” Regret that Daschle’s serial evasions caught up with him. Sadness that he didn’t get the Geithner treatment. DLTDHYOTWO!

Obama said Tuesday he accepted the withdrawal “with sadness and regret.”

Daschle has been battling for his nomination since it was disclosed he failed to pay more than $120,000 in taxes.

He said he’s withdrawing because he’s not a leader who has the full faith of Congress and will be a distraction.

He knows that. He’s just a bit shocked he’s getting called on it so quickly. You should have seen the glare he gave reporters who asked him about the tax problems after the Gregg announcement.

Don’t you people ever give up? Every country in the world believed that they had (or were about to have) nuclear weapons. You can be wrong without telling a lie. However, it is difficult to pass this off as a simple mistake.

I couldn’t find the comment, but an earlier poster in one of these threads wondered when the BHO spokespeople would claim that the problem with all the tax cheats in his cabinet were the result of his ultra-high standards. Well, here it is:

    http://www.breitbart.com/article.php?id=D9649J682&show_article=1

President Barack Obama’s spokesman is defending the administration’s ethical standards.
Robert Gibbs told reporters Tuesday, “The bar that we set is the highest that any administration in the country has ever set.”

He also said those experts recognized that Obama would need to make exceptions to his pledge to run an administration free of former lobbyists.

An exeption to a pledge. That phrase has legs.

What? Was the bar set to see how many tax cheats BO could expose in the first month of his presidency? In that case, I would agree. Certainly no other previous administration has had so many. He’s already surpassed Clinton (2) and Bush (1) COMBINED.

In any other context, Gibbs made the most meaningless statement I’ve heard in quite awhile. But it is emblamatic of the liberal mindset: I participated. Where’s my trophy?

Anyone can set the bar high. It’s only meaningful when, once set at whatever level, the goal is met.

Gibbs is a complete tool. He’s making Scott McClellan look good and I thought that was impossible.

Have you ever worn fur in public?

Did you say, “Morons?” BO thinks there are 57 states, has filled his cabinet with crooks and those who are enemies of our Constitution and promises, “HOPE,” while smoking cigarettes – can you say heart attack and lung cancer? The guy is a moron – no wonder the journalists love him – they could always bum a cigarette off of him and smoke on his UN blue plane. Of course if BO goes up in smoke (is that a pun?) we get Biden – but think of the small CO2 footprint he has. Without almost any brain function, his basal metabolic rate is 20% lower! How green is that? WHEN Biden dies from self strangulation from putting both feet in his mouth, we get PELOSI. OMG – please everyone help BO stop smoking!
