President Barack Obama is taking responsibility for mistakes in the handling of the tax controversy that led to Tom Daschle’s withdrawal as President Barack Obama’s nominee to be health and human services secretary, saying: “I screwed up.”
The president did a series of back-to-back television interviews in which the subject of failed nominees was a top subject.
Obama told NBC “I’m frustrated with myself” for unintentionally sending a message that there are “two sets of rules” for paying taxes, “one for prominent people and one for ordinary folks.”
“I take responsibility for this mistake,” he told Fox News.

A President that worries about the perception of two sets of rules has an amazing grasp of the obvious. Politicians in Washington have become their own royalty, with power, perks, free trips about the world to do “research”, and a high 6 figure pension after just 6 years of “service”. Then they eventually get booted out either by the electorate or due to scandal…to do what? To make millions of dollars to peddle influence. What a talent, what a wonderful skill…whore yourself out to the industry willing to pay the most for your connections. What is the difference between a politician and a parasite? Absolutely nothing.
Frankly it’s refreshing to hear someone admit to screwing up. We haven’t had that in a very long time.

Dear Diary it’s day 14, I really made a big mistake with that Daschle tax evader dip !@#$. I don’t understand how someone who understands the importance of high taxes, didn’t pay his own. Oh well, and now I am forced to going out on the veranda to smoke, my MIL is watching me like a hawk. I thought I heard her coming, and couldn’t find the door the other day. At least my approval rating is still high enough to blow off Rush Limbaugh. There is no 10% cut. That is a lie/misstatement that Fox News started and unfortunately picked up traction. Obama is increasing funding by $14 billion, exactly the same amount as Bush had proposed in his FY 2010 projections.

Change your search string to “bush failure appointees” and you will find a long list starting with Alberto Gonzalenz, FEMA Brownie etc…or “Bush’s uncessary war based on fake/faulty/lie evidence” and Iraq comes up right away or even “RINO fiscal policy” and you will see results on how surplus budget went into huge deficit in 8 years.

1. The U.N. approved a resolution in 2002 authorizing member states to use “necessary means to uphold and implement” previous resolutions concerning WMDs.
2. The House and Senate overwhelmingly voted and approved the use of force against Iraq to remove WMDs and this was after they had received the same intel briefs as the president.
3. Every major European country’s intel organization came to the same conclusions about Iraq and WMDs.

This litmus test will be repeated often with judge nominees, flag officers etc.
A) If you have the ideology that government should increase it’s power over the people, private ownership, and the hampering of capitalism, than you are a fit.
B) If you have the leverage to influence others into continuing to support all Obama directives you are in!
C) If you’re slick enough to effectively hide your transgressions, you’re in.

If you think back, right after the election, Daschle’s name popped up for Health and Human Services. The primary reason was Obama felt he had the knowledge, connections, and skills to implement Obama’s health care plans.
Other than Hillary, he was the “too important to not confirm” person for health care.
Losing Daschle has probably derailed Obama’s health care strategy for a while. How long, who knows? This one hurt him.
