Obama: “I screwed up”

By Michelle Malkin  •  February 3, 2009 06:50 PM

FAIL.

Screw up, move up, no consequences for the Screwer-Upper-In-Chief.

Cue “I’m Sorry” and let’s talk about my glistening pecs again, shall we?:

President Barack Obama is taking responsibility for mistakes in the handling of the tax controversy that led to Tom Daschle’s withdrawal as President Barack Obama’s nominee to be health and human services secretary, saying: “I screwed up.”

The president did a series of back-to-back television interviews in which the subject of failed nominees was a top subject.

Obama told NBC “I’m frustrated with myself” for unintentionally sending a message that there are “two sets of rules” for paying taxes, “one for prominent people and one for ordinary folks.”

“I take responsibility for this mistake,” he told Fox News.

Yes, it’s a little late to be worrying about sending a message about “two sets of rules.”

Like a planned 10% cut in the Defense budget.

I would have thought building tanks, fighter planes and destroyers would stimulate the economy, but I guess too many white guys work in those fields.

Then they eventually get booted out either by the electorate or due to scandal…to do what? To make millions of dollars to peddle influence. What a talent, what a wonderful skill…whore yourself out to the industry willing to pay the most for your connections. What is the difference between a politician and a parasite? Absolutely nothing.

Asked repeatedly whether the White House sought Daschle’s withdrawal, Gibbs said it was Daschle’s decision alone. He “did not get a signal” from the White House to step aside, the spokesman said.

Obama did not push Daschle out the door–so his claim of being “frustrated” with himself and taking “responsibility for this mistake” is just plain lame. If you had a smidgen of common sense you’d join your pals in silence.

I’ve been thinking of this and trying to remember when the media was circling last trying to get Bush to admit he made a mistake. I believe it may have been just prior to the surge. They were trying constantly to get him to admit to something, so they could circle the chum and crucify him.

Then the surge happened, they were rabid about it, and Dingy Harry declared the war lost before all the surge troops were even in country.

I Googled “bush cabinet nominee tax cheat” and all the hits in the first couple of pages had “Daschle” and “Obama” in them.
Things that make you go “HHHHHHHMMMMMMMMM.”
That seems to show a pattern of behavior.

You just need to search correctly. Change your search string to “bush failure appointees” and you will find a long list starting with Alberto Gonzalenz, FEMA Brownie etc…or “Bush’s uncessary war based on fake/faulty/lie evidence” and Iraq comes up right away or even “RINO fiscal policy” and you will see results on how surplus budget went into huge deficit in 8 years.

I am not a huge fan of Obama, but I definitely appreciate our country’s President accepting mistake in very frank way. Complete opposite of arrogant behavior or Cheney or Rumsfield or Bush.

    HA!

Speaking of that nitwit, did you see the video of him pooching Hillary’s oath (not that she believes any of it)?

He was reading from a friggin card and he still couldn’t get it right.

Yet he took a shot at Roberts who was reciting from memory.

“Bush’s uncessary war based on fake/faulty/lie evidence”

    It was so fake that:
    1. The U.N. approved a resolution in 2002 authorizing member states to use “necessary means to uphold and implement” previous resolutions concerning WMDs.
    2. The House and Senate overwhelmingly voted and approved the use of force against Iraq to remove WMDs and this was after they had received the same intel briefs as the president.
    3. Every major European country’s intel organization came to the same conclusions about Iraq and WMDs.

You can’t blame it all on Bush and that statement is getting very old, tired, and worn out.

    And from this story:

During the 2004 Democratic Party convention, Obama declined to criticize the party’s presidential nominee, Sen. John Kerry, for having voted for the war, saying: “What would I have done? I don’t know. What I know is that from my vantage point the case was not made.”

The next day, Obama told the Chicago Tribune: “There’s not that much difference between my position and George Bush’s position at this stage.”

Vetting conducted by the Obama administration is a pure litmus test.
This litmus test will be repeated often with judge nominees, flag officers etc.

    A) If you have the ideology that government should increase it’s power over the people, private ownership, and the hampering of capitalism, than you are a fit.

    B) If you have the leverage to influence others into continuing to support all Obama directives you are in!

    C) If you’re slick enough to effectively hide your transgressions, you’re in.

A & B were the real important ones, but now add C to the list!

If you think back, right after the election, Daschle’s name popped up for Health and Human Services. The primary reason was Obama felt he had the knowledge, connections, and skills to implement Obama’s health care plans.

Other than Hillary, he was the “too important to not confirm” person for health care.

Losing Daschle has probably derailed Obama’s health care strategy for a while. How long, who knows? This one hurt him.

Why do these guys even check this? unless they knowingly evade their taxes.

    they should be in jail!!!!!

and this is all our dear leader can come up with the arrogant a$$…

“It’s important for this administration to send a message that there aren’t two sets of rules – you know, one for prominent people and one for ordinary folks who have to pay their taxes,” Obama said in one of a series of interviews with TV anchors.

One negative story by the MSM and the BO supporters get freaky. Time to get a thicker hide, like those who were dumped on the last eight years. VP Cheney and the 538 members of Congress verified the certificates from each state for the Electoral College vote, but they didn’t verify the certificate of birth for the man who would become POTUS & C-in-C.

WHY NOT?!? Why did they believe the lies that were spread by the Associated Press and the Annenberg Political Fact Check?
