S-U-B-M-I-S-S-I-O-N

By Michelle Malkin  •  February 3, 2009 10:31 AM

Vigilant Frank Gaffney, who intrepidly monitored and flagged jihadi-friendly sympathizers in the Bush White House, now tackles the new administration’s submissive posture towards the America-bashers in the Muslim world:

How appropriate that Barack Obama featured Aretha Franklin in his Inaugural festivities since her signature song is “Respect.” Literally from the moment she finished belting out “My Country ‘Tis of Thee” on Jan. 20, the new president has been conveying his “respect” the Muslim world. Unfortunately, the way he practices it seems to be spelled S-U-B-M-I-S-S-I-O-N.

Several observers have noted in recent days that Mr. Obama’s outreach to the Muslim world is not only defensive and apologetic. It explicitly embraces a narrative that is factually erroneous and deprecating to his own country.

For example, in his Inaugural address, the president spoke of seeking “a new way forward [with the Muslim world], based on mutual interest and mutual respect.” He amplified this idea during his first post-Inaugural interview, which was granted to a Saudi-owned network, Al Arabiya: He is determined to “restore” the “same respect and partnership America had with the Muslim world as recently as 20 or 30 years ago.”

The problem with this formulation is that it misrepresents the more distant as well as the recent past, even as it panders to those (abroad and at home) who would blame the United States for the ills of the Muslim world.

Towards the end of George Washington’s term, the new US was spending about 20% of the annual budget towards paying off Muslim terrorists, which did not work.

So let’s repeat the never ending cycle, why don’t we.

I’ve heard and seen that term “mutual respect” used by Muslims a number of times over the past 15 years or so.

It is actually their term for “What’s yours is mine, and what’s mine is negotiable”, and “Heads I win, tails you lose.”

As soon as (supposedly) “our” side uses that term, you know the speaker has submitted,…like a nice, soft, little Dhimmi.

That would be true if President Obama considered America his country. From his speech in Berlin, his book “Dreams From My Father”, his association with William Ayers, Reverend Wright, Calypso Louie of the Nation of Islam, Frank Marshall Davis in Hawaii I would conclude the man does not consider himself an American.
He merely holds office to turn us into the Socialist Utopia of his dreams regardless of how many hicks, spics and nixxers he has to kill. And he does have his muslim roots as did Sukarno of Indonesia who turned that country into one big re-education camp.

Muslims do not criticize their own jihadists.
    Islam treats women like dirt.
Islam is the most homophobic sect of humans.
    Islam cannot take criticism.
Islam wants all other religions wiped away.
Islam wants certain people wiped away.
    Islam is backwards, not forwards.
Islam calls for the submission, unbridled.

I am having a really hard time finding “mutual interests” as I see no “mutual respect” from Islam.

The only parnership we’ve had with the muslim word has come from the power of our military. Fear will garner you many friends.
Obama is removing that fear. What a utopian.

I remember those same words used by the left all through the Cold War. Those words preceeded every retreat, every surrender.

And now we hear them again in the War on Terror. We won the last war because of Ronald Reagan. Thanks to the left, this war is still in doubt – assuming they even want to win.

This presupposes that America is actually “his country.” That hasn’t been proven satisfactorily to this day.

AzN, I agree with your post #3, and I must reiterate that his American citizenship hasn’t been evidenced either factually or through his own words and actions. This is a man who refused to put his hand over his heart during the playing of the National Anthem, and explained that he wasn’t wearing an American flag pin because it was “too divisive.”

His questionable citizenship would certainly explain his egregiously anti-American stances and actions, particularly his deference to the Muslim world.

Considering the left’s tenacious attempts to dictate to our children that “winning is bad” (turned into the notion that “everyone is a winner”)…I can’t see how they would actually want to win a war where their enemy (the US) was the victor.

“Mutual respect” is kind of like how the Dems define “bipartisanship”; that is, you agree with us, or else (1) you die, as in the case of radical Islam, or (2) you’re part of the extreme right-wing fringe, and should be silenced.

b-cat,excellent read. Thanks for sharing. Having lived through all of the events that Krauthammer describes, I find it absolutely appalling to hear our so-called President so willingly defame the sacrifices this country has made. He has insulted all who have given their best in these missions, and those of us who have benefited from our safety and security at home because of what these brave soldiers have accomplished. The compassionate efforts of our troops in helping to liberate and feed the Muslim people who have been tortured and abused by their own leaders is what makes our country great. He should be proud, but instead he demeans their service.

I’m getting really close to writing something about BHO that I may regret, so I’ll stop now.

This evil has been fought over the last 1400 years. Brave men won–weak men became slaves. Thomas Jefferson studied the Koran to help him understand why the Islamic Barbary Pirates were kidnapping, enslaving, and raping our citizens.

Jefferson sent our small navy (U.S. Constitution among them) and our Marines to free our hostages. They told the Islamic Warlord, “Our people at the port in the morning–or your head on a platter! Make your choice.”
Our citizens were at the dock in the morning.

I had the same reaction as Gaffney to this Harvard Crimson article I happened to come across yesterday. The last paragraph was infuriating, but it’s clearly right out of Obama’s Blame America First and Last Handbook, which he must have picked up at Harvard:

As the United States attempts to repair its image with Muslims around the world, it is imperative that our deeds match up to our lofty aspirations. Our society’s respect for religious freedom should be beyond reproach; the Valentine case has simply demonstrated that there is still much work left to be done.

Nafees A. Syed ’10, a Crimson editorial writer, is a government concentrator in Leverett House.

No acknowledgment at all from this twit about 9/11 and all the barbarous acts committed by Muslims before, during, or after that date against innocents. Nope, it’s our image that needs restoring.

Given the amount of American lives and treasure spent to save Muslim Kosovo in the 1990s and mostly Muslim Iraq over the past 6 years, I have no idea why BHO has any reason to bow and scrape on Al-Arabiya. We see how well Christians do in the Islamic Republic of Sudan, Egypt and Pakistan. Call the Serbs brutes if you will but I am fairly sure any of us would fight a dirty war if put in such a situation.

Did y’all catch this part of the article?

According to GeostrategyDirect.com, a newsletter published by The Washington Times’ ace national security reporter Bill Gertz, “Diplomatic sources said Barack Obama has engaged several Arab intermediaries to relay messages to and from al Qaeda in the months before his election as the 44th U.S. president. The sources said al Qaeda has offered what they termed a truce in exchange for a U.S. military withdrawal from Afghanistan. ‘For the last few months, Obama has been receiving and sending feelers to those close to al Qaeda on whether the group would end its terrorist campaign against the United States,’ a diplomatic source said. ‘Obama sees this as helpful to his plans to essentially withdraw from Afghanistan and Iraq during his first term in office.’”
