True, that’s the problem with the “ego” of an “egomaniac” – it always needs to be fed.

Pres Obama’s reaction to Rush shows just how thin his skin is when it comes to criticism. If he’d had to live through the last eight years of lies, comparisons to Hitler, and personal insults, he’d be in a mental hospital by now.

He is to people who got sucked in by the “hope and change” mantra. Nevermind what, exactly, he would “change”, or how he would bring new “hope” to our country, he was never required to say.

Now, he’s getting a BIG dose of reality, the the love affair with the media may be ending (see my above post). He may be getting the idea that – GASP – he’s NOT so much more special than any other President, or any other human being.

This is what is wrong with affirmative action…he has been placed in this position strictly based on the color of his skin, not because of any noteworthy accomplishments…and now will poorly represent the black community as he bungles his way through.

Geraldine Ferraro made a similar point back several months ago, and was vilified for it…but she spoke the truth.

Well said. As long as we have the “affirmative action” mentality, Dr. King’s dream of being judged by the content of your character instead of the color of your skin will not come true.

Ferraro was absolutely right. You might be amused to know that I have, at home, two framed buttons – one of her and Mondale, and one of McCain and Palin – to commemorate the two times in our history a woman on a major party ticket has run for Veep.

I wonder what Ms. Ferraro would like them apples? ;)

I’m glad Reagan won back then, as well. Those buttons are good for their historical significance for women alone now, since in both cases, they’re mementos of a losing ticket. (Not to mention a VERY photogenic woman on the McCain/Palin button; conservatism never looked as good!) :)

Awesome! Two attractive, smart, TRULY conservative people – talk about a power couple! They may very well have a future in DC yet (I certainly hope so).

Speaking of racial issues, he also tried to avoid bringing up Reverend (I hate to have to call him that) Wright, which, to me, was perfectly legit. Then-candidate Obama had attended that church for 20 years, been married, and had his children baptized by that race-baiting, America-hating whack job.

When it comes to McCain, never before in my life have I seen someone take an opportunity that was being HANDED TO HIM ON A SILVER PLATTER, and then throw it down on the ground, stomp on it, and walk away smugly. The man should be horsewhipped for what he has done to all of us.

The Wright issue SHOULD have been a deal-breaker, but McCain refused to let anyone officially involved with his campaign touch it. The association with Ayers was more tenuous (although troubling as well). But, I repeat, Pres Obama CHOSE to attend that church and listen to that nonsense for 20-plus years, not to mention exposing his young daughters to it. If he had been a white Republican and the pastor had said anything – ANYTHING – that could possibly, by any stretch of the imagination, be taken as racist against blacks, forget about his presidential campaign; his political career would have been over.

Sounds like you’re planning for a great Valentine’s! Mine will be with my parents; belated birthday celebration, but there will also be Valentines and candy involved, I’m guessing :)

I noticed that “Fireproof” is out on DVD now; Kirk Cameron is an actor I’ve respected for some time now. I read that he wouldn’t kiss the actress who played his wife (nothing against her; he just didn’t want to kiss anyone but his REAL wife), so they brought his real-life wife in to double for that scene. Is it me, or is that mucho romantico?
