No, I am not a racist. I am against any person that will
not try to pull themselves up by their bootstraps and
help themselves. I am against those that sit on their
behinds and whine gimmee. I personally saw what came out of NO into the metroplex and most of them,
and, yes, I do mean most…were black and looking for
a handout. I worked with these people trying to help
them. They wanted gimmees not help to get them a
job. Not all of them were black. There were freeloading whites as well.
As for help. The TX coast is still trying to get out
from under Ike. They really did not get much help and you want to know why? They just weren’t strident enough about their condition. Same thing
with a lot of the other parts of the country that have needed help and have been ignored under so
many presidents.
PS…My children have the blood of 5 different ethnicities. I am not a racist.

I don’t remember you extending this to the poor people in NY, VT and MA when this same thing happened two months ago. Except it was worse.

Yikes, did you miss those postings, eaglehaslanded? They may not have been posted HERE on Michelle’s blog, but under various monikers elsewhere on the ‘net, I did indeed post many similar support blurbs (and many over the years for our deployed troops, for Katrina victims, etc.). I’ve also sent myriad emails of support and care packages to affected friends living in other areas of the East Coast, as well as donations of money and goods to the Red Cross and the USO. I’m baffled as to why you feel this posting was a nasty slap at people living in snow-buried states outside of KY.

Anger? Bitterness? What gives here?

We’re used to ice storms in the Northeast. Those and blizzards of course. Still, I’d not trade them for hurricanes, tornadoes and earthquakes.

Since you are scared of earthquakes and tornadoes, please stay away from KY. We have both of those. (Lots more tornadoes than earthquakes.) What we don’t have are an abundance of Obamabots. We’ll leave those for the North East and keep our ice storms.

Let me see if I can recount the phrases:

How can Obama party it up while Americans are suffering without electricity and food?

Why are FEMA and Obama taking so long to do something?

Maybe we shouldn’t let them rebuild since there will be more ice storms there in the future.

How come the federal government didn’t do more to prepare before the storm? They knew it was coming.

All of our comments have nothing to do with the behavior of the people in NOLA – who looted after Katrina, who shot at rescuers, who moved to other states and engaged in crime…it’s all about their race! UPDATE just heard on Nashville local news station: CROFTON,KY...FREE, DONATED kerosene is arriving in Crofton which is going on its 9TH DAY WITHOUT POWER. Each family is given 5 gallons of kerosene, enough to make it through ONE NIGHT of subfreezing temperatures. Pathetic response from FEMA! I say we call the President's Office TODAY to complain and ask WHY his website can bring up Katrina and he cant even be bothered to MENTION KENTUCKY?

The MSM is too busy worshiping their hero in D.C., to be bothered with Kentucky. Besides, if Obama ignores you, then it must be good. Welcome to our new liberal government, where money and votes is the only thing that matters. You people in Kentucky aren’t worth their time. While I write this I’m listening to the news and some guy bemoaning the “lack” of help for the African Union. They need money and people to provide assistance to the people there. Now, isn’t that more important than you people in Kentucky? Oh, nothing has been said in the past 45 minutes about the ice storm.

Well TxRose, first things first, yes I do think you are a racist. You are the one that keeps bringing race into the discussion. So are you saying that all the people of New Orleans are black? The community I referenced is a part of the metropolitan New Orleans area. And what precisely do you mean by “the people of other areas picked themselves up and went to work helping themselves.” So you know what those in “other areas” did, please elaborate. It’s obvious that you don’t have a clue what those affected by Katrina endured. For starters, even if you had insurance, and the means, at best it took you over a year before you could move back into your house. I’d like to see how quickly you would pick yourself up if you had to fight with your insurance company for over six months, and if your doctors were all gone, and if your children’s and grandchildren’s schools were closed, and if your grocer, butcher, beautician and everything else you took for granted were gone. Oh and by the way, every one of your friends and relatives were going through the same thing. I hope you get to experience that one day.

Reread your post. So what was” no matter how self sufficient they may be, compared to the people of NO” other than a snide insult to the people of New Orleans. If it wasn’t meant as a racist comment, then what was it? There are a lot of self sufficient people in New Orleans, black and white. And thank God that there were many caring volunteers from around the world that came to help as well. Guess you were too busy to help out.

of us, but I did not say that Kentucky was more important than NO. What I said was that the MSM was
more interested in NO than Kentucky and that our new
Know Nothing pres BO has not seen fit to try to help a
bunch of gun owning praying White people that more
than likely did not vote for him.
I do know that the MSM did not spend any time to speak of on the other places that were terribly damaged by Katrina like they did NO because the squeaky wheel gets the grease and boy! were the
Black people of NO, including HIZZONER the mayor,
ever squeaky! The people of the other areas, picked themselves up and went to work helping themselves.
Now, you can come back and call me a racist which
seems to be business as usual for trolls.
