While I'm sure DeMint voted 'No' because he believes that the Bailout is unnecessary in any form, the only reason Snowe and Voinovich voted 'No' is because they are in bed with the Democrats.
However the Democrats vote, so votes Snowe and Voinovich. Sadly, I believe this is true more often than not...

It makes me wonder sometimes if maybe the Dems don't have some kind of blackmail hold over them....

They should be for fighting fire with fire. They should be for outdoing them with class warfare. Give a one-year exemption for people earning less than $40k from any withholding taxes!

Film - I'm sorry to disagree here. If reducing taxes to a few is good - why not everybody who's job is at risk. I say - zero federal income tax for everybody that does not work for the federal government.
(I'm picking up on your idea of class warfare though - the government class vs. the working class)

This is soooooo good. I was out skiing today so sitting in the chairlift, I asked several people who thought this mortgage thing was a good idea the following question:
Could they then tell me why if I wanted to buy an airplane or yacht that I shouldn't get the same incentive? What is "magic" about housing?
Is housing somehow more stimulative? If I then later couldn't pay for my airplane or yacht, should the government then step in and demand that anybody who loaned me money offer me different terms than when I originally signed?
Think I changed a couple of minds when they thought about it.

I'm thinking that some in the government are starting to understand that endebting your unborn great-grandchildren to the tune of trillions of dollars is not a good idea.

Does anyone know how much is a tillion? It takes about six seconds to count each number up to a trillion (there are more syllables as you get closer to a trillion). That is 6 trillion seconds. In years that is 190,259. Think about that! Or don't, if it scares you.

Here are some interesting facts on just a billion.

- A billion seconds ago it was 1959.

- A billion minutes ago Jesus was alive.

- A billion hours ago our ancestors were living in the Stone Age.

- A billion dollars ago was only 8 hours and 20 minutes, at the rate Washington spends it.

This is why we can't have socialism. You cannot spend your way out of debt!
