The golf cart stimulus can be found in Section 1151 of the “compromise” text and here.
Who’s behind this? The “neighborhood electric vehicles” — souped-up golf carts — that would benefit most are manufactured in North Dakota.
Porkulus: It’s what’s for breakfast, lunch, and dinner on the Senate floor.

Obviously you haven’t seen the health care travesty in porkulus
link
If you are too old and the pay back is not good on the medical treatment you need to live, you die. Soviet style economics to cut health care costs.
Who said, “The more things change, the more they remain…insane”
It just keeps getting worse! They are not reporting the 100-1 calls they are drowning in to stop this porkulus bill!
Translated: Brown shirt corps!
You forgot:
* $10 million for the make sonofdy happy fund.
Just an oversight, I am sure!
Here you go…
16 illegals sue Arizona rancher
Claim violation of rights as they crossed his land…

Yes, that is incredibly troubling. I don’t want collectivists deciding if my parents can get treatment if they’re too old.
You know what will happen – you’ll get treatment if you’re politically connected.
Michelle, you forgot to list the $500 million for the Southpaw Research Corp. It’s for the study of navel fuzz and it’s effect on the environment.
(Thanks for adding this to the stimulus bill Senator Bloatus Porkulus, the
kickbackdonation is in the mail.)tarpon,
Rush was talking about this on his show today. If our older citizens knew about this, they would go nuts! Those gosh horrible dc bunch sneak this crud in every bill trying to hide it.
L
Sorry. I don’t see anything in there that constitutes “Emergency stimulus”.
The Erie Canal can’t handle all the traffic? If they asses to pull the barges, can they use Congresspeople?
Can stagecoaches be far behind?
need asses… sorry…
A friend just e-mailed me that Texan turned Kentuckian/Nixon WH spokeswoman turned liberal reporter, Diane Sawyer is planning to take America on a poverty pity-tour of eastern KY this Friday night on 20/20, as a means of pressuring the public into supporting Obama’s spending bill.
I knew it was a matter of before the MSM played the poverty card to sell Obama’s spending bill through guilt – disgraceful!
“Do-It-For-the-Children” is next.
Well there’s always this:
http://warner.blogs.nytimes.com/2009/02/05/sometimes-a-president-is-just-a-president/
The way the unions charge for this sort of thing, thats about 3 feet of canals.
Does “Shut up white boy” “lady” have her digital TV box for her 62″ TV yet? $650 million for that – I’d just hate to have that TV go black. Or white – sorry for the blatant racism.
* $1.2 billion for summer jobs for youth
If they eliminated the minimum wage laws for youth, there would be a ton of summer jobs for them, and it wouldn’t cost taxpayers a cent.
oh god damn it, stop giving them ideas!!!!
$75 million for the Smithsonian Institution*
This is a museum so what are their operating cost? I mean how much does it cost to warehouse some historical stuff and put out a magazine? And shouldn’t the magazine be like paying for itself?
The Emergency is getting it all passed before the stupid people wake up.
The Smithsonian has billion dollar budget? Huh? Really it takes a Billion Dollars a year? This 75 million is such an insult/sarc

How ’bout we fund the construction of ONE building for the biggest agency. The the next biggest move into the building vacated by the first one, and so on. The we can sell the last, smallest, building to the highest bidder.
Like that could ever happen anywhere – oh yeah, Russia, China, Cuba, DC…
They just need to fill out the Clinton Collection – a cigar and a blue dress and they’ll be done. Let’s not begrudge them a billion dollars…
My father’s a WWII vet and if they pull that kind of crap, I promise to help him reload while he shares his opinion.
Wait a minute! We need to stimulate our economy. Mexican are not running guns! We are!
$10 million to
fight MexicanAmerican gunrunnersFixed that!
Maybe Collins and Specter are selling out America because Obama has compromising pictures of them and barnyard animals.
Better yet, we could try enforcing our immigration laws. That would open plenty of jobs cutting grass, construction labor and washing dishes. Oh yeah, those are jobs the American Idol generation don’t want. Better to create thousand of phony internship jobs so the poor dears don’t have to get dirty.
mmm. I’ll let them have mine for 10% of that. I want a nice blue one now anyway.
Hey WestCoastCoconut: gun runners rock. Every gun our smuggles sell to their smugglers is one less gun their smuggles have to buy from some colonel in the Army. That should be $10 million to stimulate gun running.
It’s a Law and Order issue.
Coconuts rock too.
Correction jsr, it’s the American IDLE generation.
The idea that the Gov will decide what treatments us “seniors” are allowed to have is truly frightening. Like I want Obama & his pals deciding when I should die?? No Thanks. Yet what are we going to do about it? What CAN we do? If it passes, we might as well start planning our funerals.
We all know what they will be!
They’ll need that much to make the displays fit the new “Party” history of this once great country.
Fortunately, the program isn’t nearly organized to do something like that, nor do it’s “volunteers” do much.
Unfortunately, we’re spending $160 million on a program with no organization that doesn’t accomplish anything.
It gets worse: Democrats using economic crisis to undo Clinton Era welfare reforms.
255 million for a Coast Guard polar ice breaker? Al Gore said the polar ice is melting. Wait a few years and save 255 mil. heh
I’m 50 and this is been going on for at least 45 years that I can remember. The govt hasn’t yet eradicated lead paint from our society?
Talk about wheels turning slowly…
What scares me is the add-on “Federal Coordinating Council for Comparative Effectiveness Research”. In other words, if a medical treatment isn’t “cost effective”, in the government’s view, enough for paying, the American citizen won’t get it, even if it is successful. It will certainly hurt the elderly and very young right now. When they finally take over healthcare, it will effect everyone.
Whenever someone tries to get rid of it from abandoned housing, some other group says that the method of remediation isn’t safe enough. Nothing gets done, but the planners and interests groups get paid.
If it wasn’t my money, I’d think it a lot funnier that NEPA is hampering liberalism.
To be fair their hands have been tied up re-engeering society to their likng so give them a break. They will get right on it after they finish providing unlimited free health care for all but before they lower the temperature of the planet 2 degrees.
Another thing that bugs me is the constant mantra that “because its such a big bill of course there’s going to be waste.”
First, I have no idea how or why that premise should be excepted
Second, supposing we do accept the above premise, why shouldn’t each spending item be subject to a n up or down vote? That way at least our “representatives” in Congress would have to take ownership of each line item. Let all of them go on record as to whether or not they think STD prevention will help the economy..
How much of that will be for legal fees to get/keep our people out of prison? I mean, hell, illegals are now suing property owners for “violating their rights”.
Pointless since GoreBull Warming is going to bury half the planet in 46 more years.
I’ll wait for the gun grab and hope I can take a few with me. I am old and slow but at 50 yards I am a good shot, with a scope a lot further.
WHEN this passes they will be back for more; Reid, Pelosi, Barney Frank, Boxer, Feinstein, Shumer, Waxman, Gun Free Zone Carolyn McCarthy and such vermin are on a roll. They will be back for more just as the cockroaches they are.
Men do not run, they do take cover in a firefight. Now we watch and wait.
Pointless since GoreBull Warming is going to bury half the planet in 46 more years.
Naw, I saw the “models” and Floriduh is gone. I should start building my ark.
You know, I would ordinarily be pissed off at this:
But they way things are now, I would prefer Congress spend their time on useless crap like this than to bankrupting our nation.
Brought to you by the people who want to decide if you get emergency heart surgery or not.
You can shack up with me, Soap.
Oh, wait…no. Pretty sure DC will be under water as well.
My family does have a nice cabin on Lake Ontario. You are welcome to it as long as you agree to pronounce venison as “ven-zin” as is the local parlance.
Chap,
You are a stand up kinda’ of guy. I am submitting by ark stimulus plan. I figure I can get as much as the CG for the icebreaker they are going to build that they will not need either. After my ark is built, I will save you a suite. Of course, you will have to learn to sat “ya’all” and/or u’uns properly.
sat = say = pronounce
Redneck-idus
We heres in these tha hills have room fer chap. In dis here icebox!!!
her her her
I’ve got an idea. They can put the 255 mil in my bank account and I will hold on to it for them. I promise not to spend it and if the ice is still there in a couple of years then they can have the 255 back minus the interest… or I get to keep it all
I’ll even hire a couple of ‘immigrants’ (or young “ladies” working their way through college) to stimulate the economy too
Of course an ark does provide superior zombie defense.
So does GoreBull Warming. ManBearPig, you magnificent B@ast@rd!
Sheehs. So glad these morons have their priorities in order.
I have four firehouses in my district that need to be replaced. Just show me where to go to apply for the grants.
The sooner we get “single payer” health insurance the sooner I can retire.
I’ve given up. If I can’t get fiscal responsibility I’ll take whatever benefits they are throwing my way…
If this were a Republican proposing this crap, there would be 24/7 coverage demanding they be booted out of office for being so cruel to throw Granny in her grave.
Remember the pounding Newt took about Medicare “withering on the vine”?
Remember when it was proposed that reducing the amount of an INCREASE in medicare spending was considered a cut, and Republicans just wanted to starve old people?
Too bad AARP is so busy drinking the Kool-Aide rather than standing up for their members.
I’m sure McCain is right on top of this helping his constituent any way he can.
I heard on the radio the other day that Ebay is full of these converters by people who bought them to resell and turn a profit.
Nice to see more money thrown down the rat hole on this.
dexter alerius i love your building plan, but you should know by this time that our gubment nonworkers can’t be stuck in no used buildings. when i visited my states building in the capital to pick up tax forms i needed, i found venician style cafe complete with musicians, door handles which cost $500 apiece and were a hot theft item so they were constantly needing to get more. poor deprived government workers.
We. Are. Sooo. Scrood.
I’m not real clear on the objections to FutureGen and carbon capture funding. I also don’t understand your interpretation on electric vehicle funding (North Dakotan souped up golf carts?). Why the rage?
I would like to submit my amendment for a measly 50K. This money will be used to build a gun range on my Dad’s property. This gun range will be used by my father, my brother, myself, and any others invited to polish up on their shooting skills. Any excess money, not used in the actual construction, will go to buy as much ammo as possible.
To satisfy demands for diversity, the ammo will not be limited to just “white male constuction worker” ammo. We will include 5.56, .45, 9mm, .357, and just for the lovers of revolution, 7.62×39!
I feel safe in saying that the “federal” government will not miss a paltry 50K. And the roughly 49,000 dollars that will be going towards ammo will certainly help stimulate the economy.
I am from Mattoon, IL. Blago had nothing to do with Future Gen. This was Durbin’s baby. Blago showed up at the rally and put his face on it, but he never once visited here to assist in anything. Not that there is much difference between the two.
If thay got hungery enough they would do anything to get money for food. Why am against all this social crap. WORK OR DIE.
Hi my best friend
Neanderthals rock!
I’m starting to feel like a peasant in the Inca Empire. Soon, government employees–somewhat like the ancient Incans known as “Big Ears”–will be coming to my house on electric golf carts, instead of llamas.
